  1. WJKK WJKF

I don't mean to express religious hatred but everyones heard of the kaur to khan campain and one of the point of the islamic religion that concerns me is that they are allowed to lie if it is to another religion, so then even in court when puttin their hand one their "Holy Koran" they are allowed to lie...what does that say about them... don't you think that yh u can be their friend but they can be very false to you

And neways its always been sed that you should stick with your own type of sangat... people that are gonna encourage you to most importantly jap naam.

    bhul chuck maaf

not everybody. I've never head of this Kaur to Khan campaign

  2. I think we should try to only be friends with singhs. Im not saying we shouldnt be friends with muslims hindus or christians im saying we shouldn't be friends with people that go against guru sahibs hukam! i no from person experience that having bad sangat at school or anywhere makes ur life in sikhi much harder. we should only be doing our dunyavi kam " worldy affairs" with them and we should keep that to a minimum like saying hi, talking for school or if we need to no something etc.

    Bhull chuk maaf

Waheguru ji ka khalsa Waheguru ji ki fathe!

That sounds like a contradiction....stay away from bad people and associate with Sikhs only....but there are bad Sikh and good Sikhs....you should really be saying stay away from BAD PEOPLE in general.

I find my religious Muslim and Hindu and Christian and Buddist friends spur me on to become a better Sikh because in them I see what a poor Singh I am.

It's not about excluding a group its about excluding BAD PEOPLE from your life....and that bad person and bad influence can easily come from within the Sikhi Sangat and outside of the sangat as well.

I've come across so many Muslims and Hindus that can easily put me and probably many other Sikhs to shame with their Pyar for their religion.

Culture an attitude of love and peace with those that are good for your Jivan and stay away from ANYTHING bad....full stop.

  3. Carpe Diem has the only sensible reply to this posting...the rest of you I'm staying silent....

I would rather be in the protection of a Khalsa Singh who has full pyar for Maharaji then some wannabe gang members or wanna gangs who use the words Singh and Sikh without realising the importance and path and even following the path!!!!

The true protector is Maharaji....the true gang is the gang of the Khalsa Singhs.......

  4. Thats probably it, but many normal folk are gona have suck a kick <admin-profanity filter activated> rig!!!

    ha!!!

Nah, really, vista is good too...it's installed on my home PC but my MACBOOK just rocks for when I do my work and simulations on it.....if you haven't tried it you should at least give it a try and see what you think.

Also, think about LInux as well....Linux distros are pretty good nowadays and best of all it's free!!!

  5. Wrong Wrong Wrong

With MAC its the package...Leopard is great....but the MACBOOKS have the little tweaks that make it work...e.g. close the lid on a macbook and it sleeps within 2 seconds...close the lid on a vista laptop and wait 1 minute before it sleeps.

WHen you resume...it just wake up with no wait time...with vista you have to wait ages.

not only that, you get Leopard, which doesnt have the whistles of Vista...but it's a mightly fine peice of kit...I was a harcore vista person until I bought a MAC..they simply rule!!

And to make it all the better..you can dual boot or even run virtual machines with vista and xp within leopard and then run at native speed.

Simple put, after spending 10 years owning various laptops, the switch to MAC was the best thing I did.

I can run ALL my windows software within MAC and also get the bonus of all the tweaks and funtionality of MAC.

SImply put Vista is all visual and no backbone...I mean look at Vista SP1 and XP SP3...SP3 for XP will give a 30% performance boost compared to Vista's SP1...and Vista has a terrible file transfer system that even MS says is rubbish...i.e. it takes 20 times longer to copy files across drives etc...

Vista was relased too early...way too early and have so many driver incompatabilies...its mad...far better to stick with XP if you have a PC rather then Vista..unless you have a quad core home pc like me...ahh the joys of playing Crysis full screen at high res!!!!

  6. Good point, but I'm sure that will complicate matters. For the sake of arguments, lets call it the consciousness.

Therefore how does one 'control' the mind? Control in the sense of treating it as a friend or foe?

I guess through repeated Naam Jaap....I guess when you are about to do something bad or think something bad, if you Naam Jap you will feel guilty and that thought will stop and you will automatically turn to Marahaji and actually realise that you shouldnt commit that deed or think that thought.

I guess thats the easy and most commonsense answer.

You treat the mind via Naam Jap.

Naam will divert that thought or action towards Maharaji and you will automatically stop it.

Over time you will train the mind to do automatically Naam Jap when you are about to do something bad!

    Simple!!!

  7. True..this is one of the BEST and most THOUGHT PROVOKING topics of late....sigh..people are more obsessed about jumping on the Muslim-bashing band wagon then actually doing something that will actually help their Jivan.

Any thoughts or responses would be greatly appreciated!!!!

My view is why do you have to treat the mind as a friend or foe?

I mean, to do so would distinctly define the mind as some other entity from the person you are. The mind is just as much a part of you as your left hand. Perhaps a holistic approach is better. Treat the WHOLE BODY/MIND/SOUL as a pile of clay that can be molded by the path of Sikhi? Even if that pot has already been baked in the oven and set in stone, Gurbani and Pyar for Maharaji can re-mold that pot into the correct shape. After all we use our body to carry out our minds actions, so in some sense, you cannot split one from the other.

  8. I don't think you can enjoy any job unless you are happy and content in life...and I think that happiness comes from Maharaji.

THEN you will be able to handle even the most mundane things as long as you are 'distracted' by the Naam.

Also, i don't think there is such a thing as a PERFECT job.

Especially when you get older with a family...then it no longer becomes about you, but rather your kids and family.

  9. GurFateh!!!

We are trying to track down someone who would be willing to do a Gutka demonstration for us at this event...This is pretty urgent and most people we've rang either don't reply back or ignore us etcc..

So if you know anyone reliable who would come up to Manchester (we would provide transport) to do the demons then that would be great...Please reply back to me via PM or on this thread.

Also, anyone who knows of any good Sikhi speakers who could talk to YOUNG kids then we'd love to hear from you also...

    Please help and support us!!!

  10. Despite what she has done in the past, something we will NEVER truly and completely know, I for one feel very sad that this is happening right on the doorstep of India. It's shows the extent of malice some hardline extremist have for freedom of speech and freedom for women...we should feel saddened by this event and it should make us more aware of our own double standards with respect to women and women's rights within Sikhi.

This sort of thing has a knock on effect and it could very well spill on over to Punjab so it should be something we all should be watching carefully and PRAYING and HOPING for no more bloodshed.

  11. In the upcoming third volume of The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, entitled 'Century', will see a Sikh mariner terrorising the mohammedans with a nuclear armed submarine. It looks like this character will be taking up the mantle from the long dead Captain Nemo. I hope writers will use contemporary words in their comics such as "soollair" to convey the correct emotion that is felt by non-appeasing Sikhs against this fascist ideology.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_League_of...me_III:_Century

away in Kashmir a Sikh terrorist with a now-nuclear-armed submarine wages a holy war against Islam that might push the whole world into atomic holocaust

A bit of a stupid idea in an age where most people (who know nothing about Sikhs) would assume SIKH=TURBAN=TERRORIST.

We really do not need such things....

Saying that, I quite liked Cap. Nemo in the first film!!!

  12. What a pointless debate...16 pages about Xmas?!?!?!?!

Don't we have anything better to do?!?!?!!

I certainly do..like drinking my morning coffee...

Ahh..but wait....I'm sure someone will start another 16 pages debate abuot coffee...tea..etc etc...

Anybody bothered commenting or being inspired by Bibi Kamaljeet Kaur Ji, writing Maharaaj's Lariwaar Swaroop with her hands??

    http://www.sikhsangat.com/index.php?showtopic=20480

    Obviously not...

There you go, it's the perfect seva for us all to do!!!

  13. Malkeet VeerJi's response was, I think, the most pertinent in today's society.

It is VERY useful arguing over Sikhi with others....I mean just look at the arguments and slanging match that occur on here.

Why do you need to reason with other people over your own Sikhi?

If you mould yourself into a Singh, wearing a proud Kesh and being a model Singh, then they will automatically see the wonderful effect Maharaji has had on you and THAT will convince them more then you trying to argue.

I think this is the only was when you are trying to get you parents to understand you and come over to your side of thinking.

They can only understand the concepts but not the effect that Sikhi has on you. Once that concept is acted upon by you, you will change and mould into a Khalsa and THEN they will see and become convinced...

Good luck and stick to your convictions.
