  1. Pyario, the last thing we want is for this programme to get a bad name, for those who were apart of these actions and are reading this topic please put in consideration the sangath views and to try your best to join in with the sangath.

This programme is for the youth and we are all there to learn, if there are any problems please do not hesitate to approach one of the sevadars.

  2. wahegurusign.gif Saturday nite was awesome. Felt really buzzing after the Kirtan and happy to see so many Guru ke singh and Sangat.

I was slightly annoyed to see some young Singhs sitting bit in front of me ((don't know who they were)) laughing, talking, fidgeting and smirking during the Kirtan!!

Could be that they were talking amongst themselves and generally laughing but it doesn't look good whilst sitting in the Guru Mahraj's Darbar and other Sangat members may think they were laughing at the Keertan being sung and Naam Simran.

I felt bad because I was embarrased to say anything to them. So that's my fault! Nothing wrong with talking with friends, sharing a joke and having a laugh but it should be done outside without disturbing surtee of Sangat.

Despite the group of lads fidgeting and smirking at one another, I felt blessed to have been able to attend the programme.

    Thanks

With Guru Mahraj's kirpaa the end of the month programme is amazing, local sangath and sangath from around london help support this programme and look forward to this event each month so please continue to attend and gain laha of Gurbani and Naam.

All I can suggest is when attending the programme please make an effort to sit at the front with sangath and sing along with the kirtan.

No need to be annoyed mahraj knows all, let’s just make the most of the time we have together, so all please do come along.

As i mentioned before the seva done by Khalsa Panth Akhara for the sangath is being notice by everyone and now is being in demand and as 4givme4mysins has informed us no funding is taken this is a great parchaar that is being done by them up and down the uk, thanks for letting us know may mahraj keep blessing the akhara to spread the word of sikhi by keeping a sant sipahie jeevan.

Hopfully other akharea can work together and have the same sort of motive as i feel gatka does attract many people to learn about sikhi and the martial art and helps bring people in.

The closest place to Southall that the Khalsa Panth Akhara teaches is Hitchin, the Khalsa Panth Akhara is getting many requests to start Gatka Akharas around the UK and specifically Southall so please keep an eye on www.khalsapanth.co.uk.

Manchester and Hitchin Akhara are setup and running regular classes.

Sangath jee its great to see so many akharea and i hope this has help the person who orginally started this post but why not get together and help each other, like surely having one akhara in southall then another one in the same area is much because martial arts can be learnt and tought by one another.

Just yesterday I was speaking to a singh in manchester who had just got back from gatka class that had been started up by khalsa panth akhara which is really good to see.

Just a small request i thought id make if i have offended anyone i am really sorry.

  7. Bush greets Sikhs ahead of Guru Nanak's 538th birth anniversary

    By Ravinder Singh Robin

Amritsar, Nov.21 (ANI): U.S. President George W. Bush has sent his warm greetings to Sikhs in America and India ahead of the 538th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev, the founder of Sikhism.

The Sikh community is celebrating this auspicious occasion on November 24.

The Sikh Council on Religion and Education (SCORE) in Washington received this message from the White House. Dr. Rajwant Singh, the Chairman of SCORE, thanked President Bush for extending best wishes to the Sikh community.

In his massage to the Sikh community President Bush said, "I send greetings to those celebrating the anniversary of Guru Nanak's birth.

While emphasizing the concept of religious freedom, President Bush further added, "Our nation benefits from a strong tradition of faith, and religious diversity is an important part of this heritage. The teachings of Guru Nanak provide strength and support to thousands of Sikhs in America and millions more around the world. Their belief in a loving God reminds us of the gift of religious freedom in our country and helps make the world a more hopeful place."

He praised the Sikh community by saying, "I appreciate the Sikh community for your strong devotion to faith and family. By sharing Guru Nanak's messages of truth, contentment, compassion, humility and love, you are helping change lives, one heart and one soul at a time" Bush further added, "Laura and I send our best wishes for a joyous occasion."

President Bush and Dr. Rajwant Singh in conversation at the White House

While talking to ANI from Washington, Dr. Rajwant Singh said, "The Sikh community in the United States is extremely pleased with President Bush's greetings. This definitely recognizes the Sikh presence in the U. S. and it further strengthens the roots of our future generations. This helps in solidifying our belief that America welcomes all religions and diversity is its strength. This very much coincides with Sikh thinking as well."

After 9/11 Sikh community had happen to victimized of hate crime due to mistaken identity. Sikhs were victimized in US because they sport beards and wear turbans and Osama ben Laden an Afghans leader also sports a beard and wears a turban. However, efforts were being made to get people aware about the Sikhs and their culture and custom but the Sikh leadership has opined that a massive campaign is yet to be launched in US.

Recently in a bid to resolve the Turban Issue the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) in the United States has offered jobs to Sikh youths based in America. Which was widely appreciated by the Sikh community living around the world. (ANI)

Sangath ji, Baba Nihal singh jee Tarna Dal does not need any introduction, he is a true sant sipahee as by reading his jeevan you will come to know.

He has the atmost respect for all the sangath and his meetea bool (voice) just brings one to want to grap his charan (feet), Baba Nihal Singh has alot of nirmirata and love for all.

With mahraj's kirpaa I have known Baba Nihal Singh jee all my life as he was very close to my grandparents, I can not explain the amount of love and respect I have for him, his number one aim is for everyone to keep guru sahibs reheth.

Some may think this is ustat of a gursikh but,

this charan pakhaalee jo thaerai maarag chaalai ||

I wash the feet of those who walk upon Your Path.

Baba Nihal singh jee has always shown me loads of pyar,he was the one that bought me my first vaja in india and as I was a child I was very happy, when comming to england I said to Baba Nihal Singh jee at my house the cholea you got made in india for me has now got very tight and small, he smiled and said I have bought you one,as the day came for his flight back i received a bag with a new blue cholea and the fit for it was perfect.

The reason I share this with the sangath is because when reading or thinking about this gursikh I am truely greatful to mahraj and brings me great happiness, I have many pictures and would love to share them but being at work it is very diffcult and I have no access on my home computer for a while so my apologies,

My ardass is that mahraj keeps Baba Nihal Singh in chardikala and keeps blessing him with the great seva for the khalsa panth,

It would be great if sangath can share the views they have had with Baba Nihal Singh jee

If I said anything wrong please do forgive me.
