Khalsa Aid is doing an immense seva in many different aspects. That is without a doubt. If what the Khalsa Aid sevadaar says is true that no other Jathebandi or Singhs came forward to teach the young Sikhs then I can see why they would go to Gurmat Gian College. I am sure Sikhs on this forum have connections to Jathebandis and Sampardas such as Damdami Taksal, Jawadi Taksal or a dera of mahanpurshes. If we were to humbly ask the respective Singhs in charge of the different Jathebandis I am absolutely sure that someone would be interested in taking up this seva to teach children and I am sure Khalsa Aid would welcome them.

So could we do that? I personally don't have any strong connections to anyone, but someone on this forum could help with this. Gurmat Gian College should not be teaching Sikh children anti-sikh values. A simple question about the Panj Baniya from a Sikh child would result in the Gurmat Gian College sevadar to tell them Guru Gobind Singh Ji's banis don't count, and therefore, don't read them. Khalsa Aid, by the looks of it, had no other choice, but why don't we give them another choice Let's organise other Jathebandis that teach REAL Sikhi to help Khalsa Aid, this would solve the concern we all have and allow those Sikh youth to not get brainwashed into Gurmat Gian College's false ideologies.

Its all fine and dandy that we understand these guys are fakes and are preaching anti-gurmat to Sikhs, but are we going to do anything about it?

Through Khalsa Aid these guys have the ability to target young impoverished Sikh children directly. They have dozens of Missionary Colleges in Punjab and elsewhere in India and are doing parchar at smagams, historical Gurdwaras and on television. They are destroying and maligning Sikhi right now and are proactive in doing so.

In Toronto Canada Singhs have exposed these guys as fakes and the general public understands that and avoids them. But what about in Punjab? How can we bring awarness in Punjab about these guys and put a stop to their anti-Sikh activities?

Jeonwala whos from Toronto was left destroyed in Debates with Sant Hari Singh Ji concerning meat and Tapoban Singhs concerning bani of Dasam Patshah.

Now in this video Jeonwala is talking about his organisation, Sikh Missionary College.

These guys are VERY successful. That Jeonwala says in that interview that they opened up 35 missionary centres and they only had to close down 1. That means 34 at that time were a success.. how many of our Sikh youth must they be teaching?

How are they being allowed to continue on with their bs?

How many times have I seen this Professor at Bangla Sahib? LOTS. He's one of their main parcharaks, he learned all he knows from Gurmat Gian College Ludhiana.

Why is no one in Punjab exposing these guys for who they are? Its like these guys just flew under the radar and have gotten very strong very soon. We have an organisation like Khalsa Aid who are doing amazing seva partnering with them to teach sikh children about Sikhi. While the thought is amazing, to teach kids from their early days about Sikhi, I feel the wrong organisation is involved. These guys have our new saplings in their hands.

Its all about how you tie the pagh. I tie mine decently tight, not too much though. I would always have my first ladh going over both ears and I would leave it like that and continue on building with the pagh. That first ladh would get pressed tighter with the second ladh and it would then hurt my ears. My grandpops told me to cover my head with my first ladh and pop out my ears and then cover the ears with the second ladh making sure that the part of the second ladh that came over my ears was as thin as possible. If you believe in your 'mahapurukhs' then that is your choice but jus be aware that not everyone does. The only reason that Jarnail Singhs men performed reasonably well in battle was because of the military tactics and strategy of General Subeg Singh who was, you may have guessed it, military trained and the best expert on Guerilla warefare on the Indian subcontinent and an instrumental Special forces officer, whos undercover activities led to the independence of Bangladesh in 1971.

As far as putting the Singhs down, I am giving my opinion on the reality of the situation as I see it. A main reason for training in a place like Pakistan is no one was going to stop the trainess. My uncle went for training in Pakistan, he learned from other Singhs not any Pakistani military personnel. Not all the training given was from the Pakistani military. Jagmeet Singh who was by far the best Sikh candidate in these elections lost these elections by 500 votes to Bal Gosal, a half wit uncle who is likely not going to do much.

Jagmeet Singh was a person who spoke out against people like Ujjal Dosanjh who were defaming Sikhs and blatantly saying that terrorism was growing in our youth. He was a voice that was going to truly do good for Canada and especially Sikhs. I truly prayed he would have won but it wasen't his time

Michael Ignatieff, who was the leader of the Liberal Party in this election (now stepped down) lost his own seat. His party lost a good 70 seats. Mr. Ignatieff said 6 months ago when the 1984 Petition was read in Parliament that what happened in 1984 wasen't truly genocide. He said to the media "The circumstances of 1984 were undoubtedly tragic; many innocent people died violently in a highly-charged atmosphere of religious tensions, describing these events as genocide is not accurate or appropriate, particularly in view of genuine contemporary instances such as Rwanda".

In April of 2011 at the Khalsa Day Parade in Downtown Toronto Michael Iganatieff told the Sangat there that 1984 was a genocide and that if elected he would work with whoever to get justice for the victimes of 1984. So he first said that it wasen't a genocide and when election time came he flip flopped the other way. Whats sad is Navdeep Bains, a "Singh", who was a Liberal Party MP when Ignatieff said the 1984 progroms weren't genocide, stayed silent and didn't say a word about the subject. He didn't get re-elected.

Ujjal Dosanjh who has been a long time spewer of hateful lies about the Sikh community also did not get re-elected. He has for a long time been creating a bad image of Sikhs and distorting the truth for Canadians. Sikhs have said here in Canada that they would not stand for someone defaming us as a community and many have spoken out against his lies.

Our Canadian Government welcomed Kamal Nath, the current Union Cabinet Minster, who was identified by witnesses to have led mobs to find and kill Sikhs and destroy their properties in November of 1984. He was here in Canada last year on official visit. The Liberal and Conservative (ruling party) had no problem with him being allowed to enter and partake in business around our country. Whats even more amazing is the Ruby Dhalla, the MP at the time for a predominantly Sikh constituency, welcomed him and even organised a dinner in his honour. Ruby Dhalla was not re-elected.

Thats about the overall political summary of Sikhi related concerns. Its a shame that Jagmeet Singh didn't get elected, but I am sure that he will get through if he stands again in the next elections as there is a whole generation of kids under the age of 18 who are full out supporters of his. The people above either failed to speak for Sikhs, spoke nonsense about Sikhs, or are friends with the killers of Sikhs. These guys didn't get elected.

Are either parties ideal to lead Punjab? No. Akali Dal are a bunch of fools destroying Sikhi from the inside out. Congress will do nothing for the state of Sikhs.

We need real Sikhs to be involved in politics and bring a real change. Don't hope that because the Akali Dal is in power Khalistan might one day be possible. India is a democratic country, the Akali Dal could have a held a referendum in Punjab asking if the people wanted a a sovereign country anytime during their rule as the Part Quebecois did twice in Quebec Canada. Just because the Akali Dal are in power it does not bring Khalistan any closer to reality.

Sure the Punjab Congress was behind the thousands of innocent Sikhs illegaly imprisoned, raped, tortured, killed, and under normal circustances should be demolished beyond resurection, but right now they are a way better choice than the Akali Dal. They are not 300+ Amritdharis, more like 5.. TOPS. If any of those MLAs are Singhs, most of them are fake Singhs. As I have said earlier the Akali Dal already does absolutely squat for Sikhs and have in fact supported anti-Sikh organisations like the RSS and Pakhandi Babe. It is better to have the Congress that will bring some sort of benefit to Punjab rather than the Akali Dal that only attack and destroy us Sikhs from the inside out.

Badal is 10x worse than the Congress leader Amrinder Singh. Getting rid of Akali Dal is a GOOD thing.. no doubt about it. Badal used the families of Shaheeds in order to get votes to get elected, he himself visits all the pakhandi babas and on top of that gives them lump sums of cash. Badal is against Sikh interests and if you think the Akali Dal are actual Sikhs looking out for Sikh interests, you are gravely mistaken.

Badal is the dirtiest player in politics. Just yesterday he said that if he were to get re-elected, he would ensure no dirty sewage and waste got into any flowing water in Punjab. That promise again is just a ploy to get votes and he will repeat his cycle of breaking made promises. Baba Seechewal wale has developed a system to clean up all flowing water, to treat sewage in every pind and stop the flow of sewage into water systems.. all for a economicaly CHEAP cost. Baba Balbir Singh Ji has had this sytem for years but the Punjab board for environment are refusing to implement it due to the fact it brings them no personal gain. Baba Balbir Singh Ji has clearly and openly said this in interviews. The dirty and corrupt politics in Punjab is rampant, and the Akali Dal are the worst offenders.

So trust me the panelists on the Sikh Channel weren't trying to secretly uproot "Sikh" rule in Punjab, they were speaking the truth.

Sikhs are a joke in Surrey. A Nagar Kirtan is literally a "Neighbourhood Kirtan". Our Guru goes through the Nagar and we follow behind the Guru.

Bhangra is a cultural dance from Punjab. It may have very great significance to Punjabis but has none whatsoever to Sikhs. Punjabi culture is not part of Sikhi. The two should be kept seperate. If people want to have a Punjabi mela where they can do that without disrespecting our Guru they should do so.

But who am I kidding lol :tongue2: This has been going on for years and no Sikhs out in Van-City to speak out against it and get Nagar Kirtans restored to what they are supposed to be. Like 30% of people are the Nagar Kirtan in Surrey don't cover their heads. Yet every year nothing is done about it, same goes for taking a stand against the yearly "terrorist" comments about Shaheed Singhs.

Maybe Sikhs over there might just get fed up one day and do something, but this is not that day :rolleyes2:

There is only one solution to this guerrilla war journalism... we should request our leaders of sri akaal takth sahib (sikh vatican) to offically declare genuine shahids of 1984 era as "Sikh Shahids" in form of edict, they have already done so creating monument of sant jarnail singh bhindranwale in amritsar but it has to be in writing, in form of declaration/edict. This way we show these idiots journalist that sikhs are one voice, steady fast supportive behind pictures of matyrs in nagar kirtan.

By having the Akal Thakt declare them shaheeds it does not solve this problem. Having the journalists see that we have one voice will not change who they believe these Singhs were.

Being supportive the the utmost degree of these photos will not prove to them anything except that LOTS of Sikhs in Canada support terrorists and terrorism.

Where these Singhs terrorists? No. Does the Canadian media and general society believe so? Yes. An edict from the Akal Thakt stating these Singhs are martys will not change the belief of Canadians.

Sikhs need provide the truthful information about who these Singhs were on mass scale. As I stated above, to have conrecte evidence and information about these Singhs that shows they are not terrorists in any way, shape or form.

More than 100,000 people took to the streets of Newton Saturday to celebrate Vaisakhi. They gave out free food, they visited with neighbours and friends and they admired the floats, the singing, the drumming, the dancing and the martial arts.

The Canadian Armed Forces were in the parade and even recruiting on the plaza at Surrey's Dasmesh Darbar temple, which organized the annual event.

The vast majority of attendees were just there to mark the holiest day of the year on the Sikh calendar or to participate in the wonderful cultural exchange. They weren't interested in the politics that some served up.

There has been much controversy with this parade in recent years. The executive of Dasmesh Darbar was once linked to the now-banned Interational Sikh Youth Federation.

In 2007, the image of Air India mastermind and Babbar Khalsa founder Talwinder Singh Parmar was displayed on a parade float put together by a group called Sikh Vision, of which Parmar's son was one of the founders.

In subsequent years, there were images of leaders of banned terrorist organizations, like both the Babbar Khalsa and the ISYF or their sister groups in India - hanging on floats and described as "Shaheeds" or martyrs. Likewise, the assassins of Indian prime minister Indira Gandhi and a retired Indian Army general were put on posters made by parade organizers and also called martyrs, instead of killers.

Understandably Surrey Mayor Dianne Watts and other politicians have expressed concern about the glorification of assassins and others linked to violence. This year, the Surrey RCMP said it would take a look at the floats and make sure there was nothing controversial. They gave the all-clear.

I spent several hours at the parade Saturday. Throughout the day, I saw tens of thousands of people out having a great time. But I also saw many controversial images - mostly on the temple plaza where the parade began and ended, but also on floats and on t-shirts and vests.

I started my day at Dasmesh Darbar, where the so-called martyr posters had been hung outside on the temple wall for all to see. They were right beside the entrance that several politicians used to pay their respects first thing in the morning. The posters included: Babbar Khalsa leader Sukhdev Singh Babbar, Amrik Singh, the leader of the ISYF predecessor group, the Sikh Student Federation, two assassins known by their nicknames - Sukha and Jinda - who gunned down an retired Indian Army general as he grocery shopped. One of the "martyrs" even had his ammunition belt on.

Next, I checked out the stage across from the front door of Dasmesh (above left) and set up by organizers. On it were giant banners proclaiming the creation of a separate Sikh nation called Khalistan. And there was another banner, right in the centre, with five assassins described as 'Great Martyrs' - Beant Singh, Kehar Singh and Satwant Singh, who killed Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, and Sukhdev Singh and Harjinder Singh (Sukha and Jinda), who gunned down the retired general Arun Vaidya. In the plaza, beside the amusement rides, was a man wearing a vest with the logo of the International Sikh Youth Federation, which has been banned in Canada as a terrorist group since 2003.

The assassin and terrorist images in the plaza were just metres from the table and bus of the Canadian Armed Forces recruiters. Next, I walked down 128th, through the cheerful crowds out enjoying the sunshine. There was another stage at about 83rd and 128th that had some of the same imagery supporting the pro-Khalistan militants. There were just two floats in the parade that glorified "martyrs" that most would consider terrorists.

The first paid tribute to legitimate war heroes, but had one banner with the images of four men on it. One of them was identified as Wadhawa Singh, who is a Babbar Khalsa leader wanted as the mastermind of the assination of the Chief Minister of Punjab in 1995. But some people are saying the name was incorrect and the photo is actually of Avtar Singh Bramha, of the Khalistan Liberation Force. I am putting up a photo of Bramha and you tell me if you think it is him.

The second float called for the formation of Khalistan. It featured two militant leaders killed when the Golden Temple was attacked in June 1984 - Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale and Amrik Singh - of the ISYF-predecessor group. A man on the Khalistan float was selling CDs for a non-profit group called Revolutionary Records. He wore a shirt with the Babbar Khalsa logo on the front (including crossed rifles) and the words Revolutionary Records on the back. Others walking behind the float wore the same shirt. I am also putting up a Babbar Khalsa logo so you can decide for yourselves if it is the same.

Also walking in the parade was Dr. Gurmit Singh Aulakh, from Washington, DC, who heads the Council of Khalistan. He spoke on the Dasmesh stage and was a special guest. He was also a defence witness at the Air India trial for Ajaib Singh Bagri, a Babbar Khalsa leader who was later acquitted. During the trial, Aulakh explained away a speech Bagri made calling for the murder of 50,000 Hindus and also said sometimes it is justified to kill. "It may be criminal for other people, but for the Sikh nation it is not," Aulakh testified.

Kim Bolan has been doing this for years, can't blame her. Probably dosen't understand jack squat about what was going on during those times and who some of these Singhs killed and why they killed em.

It is my humble request that Sikhs in Surrey get together and go through each "terrorist" she has named. Create a description or list of who these Singhs were, what they did, why they did it etc. Bhai Gurjant Singh Budhsinghwala, whos photo she has taken a picture of, killed S.H.O. Mith Singh. S.H.O. Mith Singh was a police commander who had been raping and torturing Sikhs in Punjab. Bhai Sahib's family had been illeglay detained, severely tortured, sexually abused. His uncle and cousin were, who had no connection to any "militant" groups, were killed by the police in fake encounters.

As I have explained and detailed Bhai Gurjant Singh's story and what he had done, extremely poorly I might add, couldn't Sikhs in Surrey take time out to get together, collect information and create a very detailed account and description of who these Singhs were, who they were responcible for killing, who were those people (cops, gov official responcible for killings of innocents), what those people did, why Singhs had to resort to killing them etc.

If the Sikh community can create such detailed accounts of the truth about these Singhs it could then be distributed to other Canadians, and especialy, the media. People could get a complete understanding of who these people were and it could very well result in the reduction of these Singhs being painted as "terrorists" and less hate coming from Canadians due to misinformed articles as the one posted above.

If anyone would want to refute the information brought out by Sikhs, there could be an open debate about what these people did and I'm sure we have enough intellectual Sikhs in Vancouver who could easily partake in that.

This is just what I believe could be done to solve or better this situation of this yearly bombardment of our Nagar Kirtans being shown as places where "terrorists" and "murderers" are adored.

Its cause of him getting beat up by "khalistanis" that gives him such power and influence when talking about us Sikhs in Canada. The media ate up everything he said about how "violent" and "extremist" these Sikhs are and no doubt his beating gave them a perfect example of that. The perception people have of Sikhs that want a Khalistan wouldn't be as marred had it not been for that beating. If it was Sikhs behind him getting beat and the killing or Tara Hayer, they made a HUGE mistake and even if they didn't pay for it, we Sikhs in Canada are all paying for it.

It's a shame he wont agree to a public debate with Singhs. They would easily expose the holes in all his statements.

Sant Ji had said that he would kill 5000 Hindus to resolve the issue with the Sangat's bus being taken into police custody. He said that to get the attention of the government and get them to actualy listen.
