  1. our history wasnt about muslim vs. sikh. it was about sikh opposing tyranny in any form. problem is history is often full of biased accounts written by victors (the tyrants). i doubt he would accept accounts of history written by non-muslims whereas the rulers would obviously write that they were peace-loving.

first sikh shaheed is Guru Arjan Dev Ji Maharaj. Despite being trusted friend of his father, Emporer Jahangir states in his autobiography Tuzak-e-Jahangiri that he made no investigation of any allegations and simply passed the Guru to Murtza Khan for execution under the law of Yasa. Yasa is Turkish word meaning "kill slowly by torture". The law of Yasa was used by Changez Khan known all the world over as the cruelest person. This punishment was later given to Bhai Mani Singh who was hacked inch by inch on November 17, 1737. Bhai Taru Singh, Shahbaj Singh, Subeg Singh and many others suffered the same fate.

Emporer Aurangzeb was first ruler in history to attempt to impose Shariah Laws on non-islamic country & was one of main reasons the mughal raj collapsed. This meant Jizya tax was imposed on non-muslims, music was banned, temples demolished & people forcibly converted to islam which led to ninth Guru's martyrdom.

Put aside Sikhi and say just in his own family if Emporer Aurangzeb is indeed Alamgir & great muslim how can anyone justify according to islam imprisoning his father? having his elder brother beheaded & serving the severed head to his old aged father in a dish? killing another brother? if that is how he treated family how does he think this great ruler treated non-muslims?

http://www.aurangzeb.info/ has historical exhibits depecting the cruelty of his rule.

Nice book for those with an interest in a diverse poetry on Sikhi.

This bookalso contains 33 full-page colour illustrations, among them Gurū Nānak Dev Jī and Gurū Gobind Singh Jī, ivory and inlaid work from the Golden Temple as well as old gates from Amritsar and Panjāb, paintings of flowers and much more.

Another publication "Sikhism – Wellspring of Love" is on its way.

  3. admin please excuse my language here as theres a time for it and this is it:

    F0k the Police

F0k the law, it's on the side of scum half the time. only law u need to worry about is Gurmat, if you're willing to face DharamRaj for your actions then do what u gotta do.

if anyone comes into your shop or your house and causes trouble (i dont mean auntyaan) but Keley, Suley, Chavs or other Thugs don't sit around crying to the Police or praying - YOU are the prayer and YOU are the answer.

    this is just my opinion

  4. There are a handful of differences between singhs, and while these may get the most attention, they do not constitute 90%.

Rather then blowing things up and making mountains out of non-existent mole hills, it might be more beneficial to note that in this thread singhs of different backgrounds are sharing common ground and saying job well done with pyar.

    important point made here.

no matter what group it is, people have at times over-emphasised small differences to ridiculous levels.

it's gotten to the stage where namdharis and other groups considered "outsiders" are actually keeping better rehit of Gurbani & spending less time in futile arguments than many "mainstream" sikhs.

  5. With GurKirpaa, Gurbani is becoming more accessible now on dvds, in cars, pdas and mobile phones.

Bani of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji is now available on YouTube for the first time.

    visit:

    http://Youtube.com/Sikhi

    cellphones (http://m.youtube.com/sikhi)

or on your Tv (sony/panasonic/samsung/LG) or via nintendo wii/Sony Playstation/Apple tv/Tivo

and can be embedded on any website or webpage & if you put in the timeline at the end of the URL it will play from any specific Ang or Shabad.

if anyone can help split timeline into individual Angs, you just find the beginning of the Ang on the audio & subtract 3 seconds (e.g. Ang 0024 #t=1h10m18s) then please reply.

otherwise Sangataan please do make use of it as like everything on RKK website its all avaliable for free.

  6. Badal = biggest Gadaar of 20th Century & his son will probably end up the biggest of the 21st.

it takes a lot to say this but at least Indira had the guts to publicly attack her enemies in a frontal attack not like the likes of Badal & his SAD(B) chums who stabbed Sant Jarnail Singh Ji and the entire Panth in the back.

  7. voted yes to all of them.

wait a sec.. there is a President of Khalistan? just by adding the caveat "government in exile"? biggrin.gif

no offence but i doubt most sane people want to see these people spew their venom from any stage let alone be governed by them.

also do you mean the same babbu maan thats in this video?

    http://www.youtube.c...h?v=INpu8MMSXlU

and the same dhesi who was singing the praises of prof darshan singh on sikh channel?

youngsters should stay away from these people as they've all at some stage or another created and spread controversy and hatred between sikhs from which they've profitted with viewers/listeners, followers, kursiaan, etc.

sikh jathebandhiaan and groups should distance themselves from the views of these madmen as they've put their own personalities and reputations before the needs of the Panth and attacked Guru Ji's Bani and Mahapursh which could potentially incite lasting tensions.

There is no Amrit sanchar without Dasam granth.

There are no shashtars without Dasam Granth.

There is no sarabloh without dasam granth.

There is no khanda , kirpan without Dasam granth.

There is no "Waheguru Ki ki fateh" greeting without Dasam Granth.

There is no "deg teg fateh" without Dasam Granth.

There is no Khalsa panth without Dasam granth.

Lets look at the names who support Dasam Granth (including prakash):

    All Nihang Singh Jathebandia

    All Taksal Sampardas

    All Nirmala Sampardas

    All Sevapanthis Sampardas

    Hazoor Sahib

    Patna Sahib

Akal Takht (untill 1940s when Dasam Granth removed from the organisation that believes in 3 bania in the morning)

Bhai Randhir Singh (received siropas from the 4 recognised takhts. Very firm on Gursikh principles would have rejected siropas from the takhts that he thought dasam granth prakash was antigurmat and doing beadbi of Maharaj. Never spoke against Dasam Granth. If he felt this was beadbi he would have gone to all the places where prakash happens and started a morcha to remove dasam granth like he did with removing the mahants.)

Bhai Jeevan Singh (ex granthi at patna sahib where prakash of Dasam Granth happens. Probably done seva of the saroops. Very firm on Gursikh principles would have never served as granthi if he thought this was anti gurmat)

Akand Kirtani Jatha (India, North America)

If Sant Jarnail singh who had a nitmen of 22 hours, had darsan of Guru Gobind Singh and Mata Sahib Kaur, was blessed with seva along with the babbars in defending Harmandar sahib, took hukanmamma from Dasam granth had no objection with prakash of Dasam Granth then who are we to object.

  8. Please can i ask a question as i was not at this great meeting yesterday ?

    is bhindranwala alive or saheed.

Admins should remove these sorts of posts by newcomers. we all know depending on which forum you post, admins are often quicker to remove bashing against certain jathay more promptly.

Also People should be more careful before stereotyping entire jathebandhiaan with the comments of a few people calling themselves the unelected leaders of the panth. most of the people mentioned are wannabe "political leaders" or run this or that committee or GuruGhar.

youngsters need to understand they're being brainwashed by people to hate on GurMat or Guru Ji's Baani by people who care more about their kursi or personal reputation than anything else.

we were too young, if these guys are such soormay why didnt they go to punjab and give their lives for the Panth in the '80s instead of staying here and create hatred in the minds of impressionable youth?

Those people who want to criticise Sri Dasam Bani who call themselves representatives of Akhand Kirtani Jatha should be asked whether they consider themselves more learned than Bhai Sahib Randhir Singh?

These events in Coventry are a real low point and Akhand Kirtani Jatha and indeed the entire Panth should distance themselves from the statements made as this could really cause a lot of future tension.

  9. there is a "panthic conference" usually held every year at a certain GuruGhar - i know i'm being very judgmental but the dudes standing next to the stage.. it was like a khalistani dole queue with each person lining up willing to sell their soul for a siropa, kursi or their 5 seconds of fame.

if a person or group questions any Gurbani from Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji Maharaj or Sri Dasam Granth Sahib Ji can they really put the interests of the panth first?

these subgroups & cliques that need to create hatred between Sikhs to justify their existence..

by definition can they really put the interests of the panth first?

maybe we just need to focus on our own selves & the solution will come from there.

sorry to not answer your question - kinda gone off on a tangent laugh.gif

  10. dont give them the oxygen of publicity.

certain radio stations & channels rely on kicking up controversies to get listeners.

they will make sure the majority of those callers who get onto direct live discussion represent their own personal viewpoint.

bbc & asian network do it by slagging off sikhi in general be it over 1984, wearing of kakaars & even sikh computer games!

punjab radio use subtle but more dangerous tactics which are much more divisive. some of these missionary types are proper bonkers!
