  1. Gurfateh!

I prefer the self mind trick method- recommended by Giani Thakur Singh Ji DDT. If doing mool mantar (out loud) then recite wahgeuru after each aakhar e.g. Ek Ounkaar Waheguru Satnaam Waheguru Karta Purakh Waheguru. etc. This keeps you focusing as you are trying to concentrate and get it right. After 40-50 recitations you might find you have the hang of it, then stop saying Waheguru out loud (here say it in the mind) and continue it mool mantar out loud. It should start jaap of Waheguru inside you.

Also when trying to concentrate on Bani use the same method at the end of each bhangti say waheguru and do the same for the rest of the Bani. This should help with concentration and is a beautiful way to recite Bani.

This information was taken from Gianijis katha on Sukhmani Sahib paath.

    Best of Luck

    Gurfateh!

  2. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh!

I am researching the Panj Pyaare and have managed to find online basic bio-data but I am looking for more information into their lives and meaning of the names etc. I am told that there is an english version of the Suraj Praksah Granth; if anyone has a pdf it would be helpful.

If the sangat could please refer me to some sources whether katha or text it would be much appreciated.

Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh!

  3. Im glad the recipe worked out well!

Lol Sarabjeet singh we also have loads of bakeries that make eggless cakes etc. But the actual issue is sucham and bibek jeevan. We dont know exactly how food is prepared by non amtridhari people and also being bibek you need to be careful about what you eat. Generally the rule is to only eat food made by bibek gursikhs with a good jeevan or simply make it yourself.

  4. My recipe works quite well for the cake sponge.

    Ingredients

    Self raising flour 8ounces

    Margerine 4ounces

    Condensed milk 420g tin

    Milk- fill the 420g tin

    Baking powder 1tsp

Mix together all ingredients and put into greased baking tray. Bake for 35-40mins at gm5. Poke with a fork at 35mins just to check its baked inside. Leave to cool.

I dont make a frosting but I make buttercream icing.

Whisk together icing sugar 500g with softened butter 30gish.

  5. Southall joker sorry southall youth calm down.

I do feel that going to parliament wont help.

I dont like the BSSF signature or other similar ones.

I started the topic because being a southall youth I had never heard of BSSF ever. And from my second post I made my feelings clear. Everyone is entitled to post which they have but seriously whats it to you if i posted or whatever else your problem is.

Bottom line the question has been answered. I wont be posting again but your all welcome to continue.

  6. My original post was not a firestarter. I just wanted to know if BSSF are an AK47 spin off as they associate with Dal Khalsa and SAD. I got my answer. I do agree that BSSF have responded amicably, whereas other forum members have gotten a little hot under the collar. You have the option not to post.

The issue about attending parliament. I have on several occasions met with MPs and they dont actuallly care. They will not interfere in another democracy or deal with old issues. But good luck none the less.

Again everyone is entitled to their own beliefs and I am entitled to mine which I have put across as diplomatically as possible.

  7. I think ive been misinterpreted. I attend 84 rallys each year and have great respect for the shaheeds. Ive been supporting these events longer than BSSF have been around. Just by not supporting one set of groups doesnt mean I am denying sikh genocide.

I do affilliate with groups that have a strong backbone and history. Groups that are panthic and have world renowned fame for there efforts. But rather than making stronger what already exists people with hidden agendas form 'their' own groups. Which now seems anti panthic?

  8. Good on you Aman0001! But Asa Di Vaar states- Moorakh naal na lujiye which translates to dont mix with fools. Frankly the views of the group seem to be of a low intellectual standard or undeveloped if you like. Also the groups that they affilliate with are known for corrupt and two faced behaviour. So best of luck to you all.

  9. ^^^^Totally agree, Sant Jarnail Singh Ji Bhindranwale used to do 120 Japji Sahib paaths a day, anyone got the courage to say that his Bhagati was worthless or didnt prove any miracles. Or Baba Deep Singh ji who had an equally matching Bhagati, where their sis fell on the parkarma 300 years ago military tanks couldnt pass 25 years ago!

Truth is people are too lazy to do Baani!

To all Sangat still doing the paaths lets keep it up and ignore the manmukhs who TRY to stop you!

  10. the glass can be seen as half full or half empty. i regard this as an exclusion and not entrance criteria. Entrance criteria should be based on academics and not appearances. if that girl was academically superior to other students I find it absurd to not grant her admission. the amount of stress laid on appearances is so much so, it seems that morals and ethics are forgotten. I know of "sikhs" who constantly hide behind their illusory beards and kesh and commit manmat acts. But im sure they would be just perfect for this school.

I was making reference to the faith rather then the school but the same applies. The seat that she wanted was reserved for a Sikh. Simple if she cant follow the faith then the seat has to go to someone who can.

Sikhs appearance makes them who they are, hand in hand with their undying faith for Guru Granth Sahib Ji Maharaj.

Guru Gobind Singh Ji said-rehat pyaari mujko sikh pyaara nahin- I love the ISkhs disciplined way of life not the Sikh. This immediatley excludes all the wannabe partime Sikhs who are too weak to make a real commitment.

  11. This is a sad story... The sikhs of today are brainwashed by british tat-khalsa ideology. Even sehajdharis in the past had never suffered this sort of exclusion. It's sad to see how much bhasauria and other mind-sets have influenced todays sikhi. more than half of the people on this forum are inlfuenced by it, whether they know it or not.

If i was left in charge, I would refuse akal sehnas application

Dont think of this as an exclusion but more like an entrance criteria, to get into any school or any faith you must make some commitments to it. If you are not strong enough as a person to do so then you cant get in. This exclusion is for calling yourself a Sikh, how can you be a sikh and not follow the basic tenents of Sikhi? seems like a big contradiction.
