  3. I really dont care wat happens in fights over there. But it happened wat I was scared of. That some <banned word filter activated>'s gona pull his Kirpan out and misuse it ..just like this guy did and We all will have to pay for it one day by loosing our kirpan privilege. I can't believe these idiots actually do that. I bet that <banned word filter activated> who pulled out a kirpan is probabaly not even Amritdhari. they were just carrying it around just to show off on a MELA!!! IDIOTS!!!!

Every amritdharee knows that you are only and only supposed to use the kirpan as a last resort for self defense and this guy pulled out the kirpan because they were disrespecting Sikhism? wat happened to fists? yeh that muslim guy had a pistol that our so called " SIKH" had to defend himself. :umm: @

  4. RSS Stand on Sikhs ( yes keep standing baandro...no seat for u to sit on )

We regard the Sikh religion as a separate religion ( barri meherbanni tuhaddi ), but we regard the Sikh people as belonging to our Samaj ( phittay mooh tuhadde). When we say that they are a part of the one great Hindu Samaj, we do not deny the existence of their separate religion and separate beliefs ( yes all u do is twist words when necessary...saaleyo tuhaddi te ). Hindu Samaj is a commonwealth of many religions ( fer asi ki kariye ). It includes idol worshippers as well as those that are against idol worship ( and it includes those idols as well ). It includes those who accept the authority of the Vedas as well as those who do not ( and it includes those who dont take bath and those who take bath twice a day, now where do i fit in :T: ). They are all included in the wider Hindu conceptualization ( kari jaao include ).

No RSS Invention ( yes only RSS intervention )

This is not an R.S.S. invention ( ikk vaari sunda nai, mai keha intervention ). It has been there for centuries ( yea lord indra was your 1st president ). This is recognized also by our constitution ( your constitution has

eyes? ). Explanation II given under Article 25 says, "In sub-clause (B) of clause (2) the reference to Hindus shall be construed as including a reference to persons professing the Sikh, Jain or Buddhist religion, and the reference to Hindu religious institutions shall be construed accordingly ( not to forget a policy of assimilation that will target all minorities )." It should be noted that the Hindu Code Bill ( so now u make people pay bills in the name of religion? nice! ), though it contains the word 'Hindu', is applicable to Sikhs, Jains and Buddhists ( mai keha na, policy of assimilation, and did u note the "a$$" in the beginning of assimilation? ). We desire that it should be applicable to all, including the Christians and the Muslims ( and americans and russians and arabs and british and chinese and japanese ), as is envisaged in Article 44 of our constitution ( article 420 ).

The basic postulate is that 'Hindu' is not a religion but a way of life ( way to go thumbs_up.gif ), or more precisely a certain value-system or culture ( value da system? ah kado shuru kita :T: ). One of the basic tenets of this value system is to accept the validity of all faiths and religions ( and try level best to ASSimilate them ). If we deny this plurality, we will cease to be Hindus ( and lose our kursi ). Many Sikhs attend the R.S.S. Shakhas ( and yawn all the way through ), but nobody is asked to remove his beard or his pugree ( tu marna kehke

? hain? khoteya! ). R.S.S. will never try to obliterate the identity of the Sikhs ( so that they can be watchmen on ur borders ). That will be against the very grain of the R.S.S ( give some grains to the starving population of india ).

:umm: I love your remarks in there . Great job man keep it up! :D

  5. im new by the way ppl so respec to u al. by the way noticed sumting dis site cnt spel Waheguru correct. wel das the way iv bin braught up 2 spel it so dnt knw bout use lot....

As we write the word " waheguroo" in Gurmukhi "gagga' has OnkkaR and "rara" has DulenkkaR. so if you wanted to Pronouce the Word Correctly when its Transliterated then "WAHEGUROO" makes sense. Just because u were brought up using waheguru that doesn't mean that it 's the only right version.

"sikhi for life" I don't think she's talking about waheguroo with a "v' or "w"

Also in Gurbani it says "bhajo thaa(n) aeko naamaa, avar niraafal kaamaa"

From first hand experience being addicted to watching bad movies on the internet in the past and then being addicted to chatting with people all night on MSN, everyday, and getting bad grades in school, and then being addicted to impulsive e-mail checking, I know from experience how the internet can ruin your Sikhi.

Coming from this perspective, it hurts me when people are wasting time on Sikhsang

at.com (or Sikhawareness or any other forum) not doing Sikh Sangat

      :(

What I mean is that there are some threads where people post messages that have nothing to do with Sikhi - now I can understand jokes and I appreciate jokes. Laughter is a great medicine. But the line "laughter is the best medicine" must have been made by an atheist or a nigura. Because they didn't realize that in fact, laughter of the body cannot do very much for us in the end. Laughter of the soul - okay, yes, that is the best medicine.  Naam - the true laughter of the soul is our cure.

But we are so engrossed in other ways to entertain ourselves - today I spent more than an hour watching TV. It was so pathetic. And I don't know why I did it, I just didn't get up from the TV.  :D

I am not shunning or putting down the people who post in the Fun / Sports section. I am NOBODY to do that anyway, and I wouldn't do that. I just wanted to ask how you feel about the posts in that section - and if they are distracting or helpful to you.    :T:

Because if this website is called Sikhsangat, shouldn't it keep you focused on Sangat?

When people come to this website -  If they're not doing Sikh Sangat, they're doing "some other Sangat"

    and Bhai Gurdas Jee says

swDsMgiq ivxu sMg hY sB kcw cwau]

"saadhhasa(n)gath vin sa(n)g hai sabh kachaa chaaou"

doing sangat outside of "saadhsangat" is all fruitless, Bhai Gurdas Jee's vaars - the Key to Guru Granth Sahib Jee - says this...

Also in Gurbani it says "bhajo thaa(n) aeko naamaa, avar niraafal kaamaa"

And throughout Gurbaanee it says to "be careful not to be to engrossed in Maya"

I just couldn't take it anymore that so many of these kids are wasting their time and maybe if there was less of those posts here they would be more attracted to the other posts ..

Please understand that by posting this I'm trying to teach MYSELF to avoid distracting posts too... I am not trying to preach to anybody... I would just like the saadh sangat's thoughts on this topic.

So please share your thoughts... What constitutes a gurmat discussion? What are unacceptable posts? What is distracting? Is the Fun section a good attraction or a waste of time?  I have no wisdom. I am really sorry if I said something against gurmat.

  7. The problem is that everyone wants to dress yup the babajee room with most expensive stuff, everyone worships what is the actual physical saroop of the Siri Guru Granth Sahib.  Very few people actually worship what is the actual message written on the inside.  When we start worshipping what's on the inside then everything becomes worthwhile.

    Just my 2 cents.

    Good point veer ji

Which leads me to another question: Why are we so upset if we put bani on the floor? For example, if we put a gutka, pothee, etc. on our lap and it falls onto the floor, it is a big deal, as we are always told to never let it hit the ground. However, this must be because we value the physical essence of it, not the writing inside. After all, by putting it on the floor, the message is not hurt, the bani is left the same, it is just the "physical entity" that is disrespected. Why?

By the way, to clarify, if you're going to respond saying that we must respect it, I understand we must respect the actual thoughts/messages of bani, but why the physical entity of a gutka?

I hope that question made sen

    se... blush.gif

Well if you put the Pothi or gutka in your lap then its very wrong... Its got nothing to with manmat.. Its simply respect... so don't say "if WE put gutka in our laps" that doesn't include people like me... We are trying to learn wats written inside the Guru Granth Sahib. You are just assuming that its the physical form people respect .. not the actual teachings inside it.. I think by saying that you are judging a lot people of their respect towards gurbani. I can't believe you would actually say "After all, by putting it on the floor, the message is not hurt, the bani is left the same, it is just the "physical entity" that is disrespected. Why?"

because we consider it part of our Guroo Sahib thats why! So let me get this straight it bothers you that most people show their respect to gutkay by keeping it at a higher place? You heard of DIRT on the floor? or how about the STINKY FEET? does that still considered respect wen you put a gutka on the floor?

  8. I was just thinking the other day... Why is that I have never heard of any Muslims tied their beard? I guess sikhs must be more smarter and advanced than them.. even tho we are nothing compare to their population. But I have heard not one tie their dhaRee up out of millions of them who keep dhaRee
