  1. WGJKK WGJKF, I recently read the following shocking statistic: "Experts estimate that up to eighty percent of Sikh scriptural manuscripts have disappeared in the last century due to conflict, neglect and poor conservation."
  2. WGJKK WGJKF, I'll make this short: A fundamental concept of Sikhism is equality. And well those "Sikhs" that say that Sikh women shouldn't be allowed to be in the panj piare are complete and utter hypocrites!
  3. WGJKK WGJKF, I had read somewhere that for over 100 years after Guru Gobind Singh ji's death, udasi priests had protected and maintained sikh holy shrines such as Takht Hazur Sahib, Anandpur and Amritsar. Also i read that the udasis had: "established schools of learning to keep the Sikh tradition alive." What i don't quite understand is why udasi priests were maintaining these holy places of worship? I also don't quite understand why they were keeping the sikh traditon alive? Surely that was the job of the sikhs of the time? Surely the sikhs of Guru Gobind Singh ji were more than capable of protecting and maintaining these holy places of worship and keeping the Sikh tradition alive? I would greatly appreciate it if anyone could give me a fact based reason as to why udasi priests were maintaining these Gurudwaras'.
  4. WJKK WGJKF, I was wondering what is the sangat's view on the modern "Singh's" who tie their "jura" at the back of their head and not at the top of their head. With a patka then tied leaving the top of their head flat and the jura at the back. (I hope you know which way i'm talking about it being tied.) :gg: Does the sangat feel it is disrespectful to tie it like that? Does the sangat feel that those who tie it like that just want to fit in with the crowd? I'm interested to know what are your views?
