  1. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh

This time of the year marks an important series of events in Sikh history. It is during this time in 1705 that Guru Gobind Singh Ji Maharaj left Anandpur Fort, were separated from their family at the River Sirsa, and stayed at Macchiwara jungle. Aswell as this the two older Sahibzade attained Shaheedi at the battle of Chamkaur and the two younger Sahibzade were bricked alive by the governor of Sirhand.

In this time leading upto Guru Gobind Singh Ji's Gurpurab in January, please feel free to post saakhiya, pictures or inspirational quotes regarding Dasam Pita ji in this thread.

Daas will hopefully write some saakhiya soon Guru Kirpa..

    Bhul Chuk Maaf

Guru Gobind Singh jee was about to mount his horse, he suddenly asked the Khalsa that was standing

around to recite Guru Granth Sahib jee in the time it took him to get on the horse. IMPOSSIBLE!

thought the sangat, except for one Singh who did as Guru Sahib ordered, he got as far as saying ‘Ik

Oankar Sat.. , Guru Gobind Singh jee sat on his horse and finished off by saying 'Gurprasad'. Guru

Sahib explained the whole fundamental message of Guru Granth Sahib jee is : There is One God -

realised by the Grace of the True Guru.

Dont get mislead by anyone who says they are Guru Nanak Dev jee, nor by anyone who claims to be a

living human SatGuru, nor anyone who says for 20GBP they'll tell you your future from some cards.

Believe in True Guru Granth Sahib jee and no one else. Say to Guru Granth Sahib jee, ' You are my

master, highest, unparralled and most gracious, you look after all that sing Gods praises and all those

that listen to Gods praises, save me as well Baba jee'. Guru Granth Sahib jee is 'Jag dee Jot' the Light

of the World. Believe this whole heartedly without doubt, Guru Gobind Singh jee says 'Sabh Sikhan ko

Hukam ha, Guru Mani-o Granth' 'It is the order to all Sikhs to believe their Guru is the Granth '.

  2. does anyone own the land on the moon

Buy land on Moon now...Mars is next

The Earth’s terra firma holds no fascination for Germany-settled Amritsari artiste Harjinder Singh Baghi. He’s already ‘mooning over’ lunar settlements, reports Varinder Walia.

    asr1.jpg

Standard offer: There are over 1,125,000 lunar landowners from 176 countries around the world.

Aspiring for the moon? Not content to have acres of land stretching across the verdant fields of Punjab, and yet more land in foreign countries, the Punjabi community has now started looking towards the Moon and the Mars (Sea of Tranquility) to invest in the real estate!

Like the USA’s Neil Armstrong who became the first man to walk on the Moon, Mr Harjinder Singh Baghi (58), now settled in Germany, has become the first Amritsari to ‘own’ one acre of land on the Moon. Mr Baghi is the son of Jathedar Bur Singh, a great freedom fighter (honoured with the Tamra Patra by the then Prime Minister, Ms Indira Gandhi) who fought for the sake of his motherland.

The proud ‘owner’ of one acre of land near the crater Arago (Sea of Tranquility), Mr Baghi says that it has fulfilled his long-cherished desire to purchase a piece of land on the Moon ever since he had seen Armstrong’s lunar walk in 1969. Recalling the historic day, he said that the memory of the “greatest space event” was still fresh in his mind.

Armstrong had reported the lunar module Eagle’s safe landing with the words: “The Eagle has landed.” As he put his left foot down first, he declared: “That’s one small step for man but one giant leap for mankind.” The historic moments were captured on television cameras installed on the Eagle and turned on by Armstrong.

Mr Baghi, who had migrated to Germany in 1986, has with him the declaration of the Lunar and the Mars landownership deed for the purpose of colonisation. It reads: “The lunar Federation will help set up a free democratic government to secure the rights of the lunar and the Mars colonies. The Moon and the Mars will become their own sovereign states. The Lunar Federation will regulate the colonies until such times that the governmental sovereign state becomes fully self-sufficient. The Lunar Federation plans to set up a permanent lunar and Mars base while setting up the government of the Moon and the Mars to secure private landownership and mineral rights.”

The Lunar Federation promises that the settlers on the Moon would have spectacular views of the Earth, particularly during the lunar eclipses.

Mr Dennis Hope, a Californian entrepreneur who first laid the claim to the entire Moon in 1980, is gearing up to jack the prices of the land on the Earth’s lone natural satellite.

Mr Hope has quietly ‘sold’ parcels on the Moon to some 300,000 people through his Rio Vista California Company, Lunar Embassy. The Lunar Federation claims that for a limited time one can buy the land on the Moon! There are over 1,125,000 lunar landowners from 176 countries around the world. Till date more than 300 million acres have been issued to people from all walks of life here on the planet Earth. The colonisation mission will take place when one billion acres have been issued to the people all over the world!

    Out-of-the-world deal

The purchasers of the standard Moon or Mars property package receive a deed, a site map, the mineral rights, the Moon or the Mars Constitution and the Bill of Rights and a registration card. With pricing per acre at only $29.95, who can resist this out-of-the-world deal? Buying land on the Moon and the Mars might be a laughing matter to most people, but Mr Anthony M Grasso, CEO of the Lunar Federation, claims otherwise. “My Company is selling investment deeds to help support a colonisation mission to the Moon and the Mars to secure private land ownership.”

    Extra-terrestrial affairs

Can you buy land on the Moon? According to a website you can. The Home on the Internet of the Lunar Embassy claims that it is “the only company in the world to possess a legal basis and copyright for the sale of lunar, and other extra-terrestrial property within the confines of our solar system”. Their basis for this claim is that the UN Outer Space Treaty of 1967 forbids governments from owning extra-terrestrial property, but it does not mention anything about individuals or corporations! What it all comes down to is that for the $30 you pay to buy a plot of land on the Moon, you will gain the ownership of a piece of paper and nothing more.

Another website says that an individual cannot own a piece of land on the Moon. It says surfaces of all solar system planets are protected by international treaties signed in the 1960s and these treaties prevent this kind of purchase. Yet another website reads, “Please do not be fooled by these other companies who say you can purchase land on the Moon. They sell you a piece of paper for $30.00, saying you own this plot on the Moon. No one owns the Moon. Just as in case of homes that sit on the beach in Southern California, you own the home and not the land it sits on.”

Lunar theatrics Interestingly, theatre has been the forte of Mr Baghi whose fascination for the Moon has now made him a famous Amritsari. Before immigrating to Germany, Mr Baghi had directed a number of Punjabi plays in Amritsar. Some of his famous plays that were well received included “Dare Da Theka”, “Kurbani De Punj” and “Jis Tan Lage”.

i've just got a few questions i wanted to ask...

why do we do paat and whats the relevance of each bani? how do they help us? and why do we do ardas when god already knows what we want?

    Why do paath...... (Daily Prayers)???

Each Bani has a specific focus and purpose:

Japji sahib: To relate and connect with your soul. Recite in the early morning or when your being is endangered, when the radiance of your soul is weak, when your soul feels sad. All the wisdom of the Siri Guru Granth Sahib is contained in this Bani.

Shabad Hazaare: This gives benefits of a thousand shabads to allow the soul to merge directly with God. For reconciliation and bringing separated ones home. Recite when your body feels useless.

Jaap Sahib: To bring Grace, self-command and to inspire your greatness. This bani brings royalty, divinity, ecstacy, bliss, bountifulness and beauty. It will increase your vitality, courage power, strength and self-esteem. Recite when your dignity is threatened, to overcome fear and to arouse and increase your flow of spirit.

Tav prasad Swaiya and Chaupaee: To bring satisfaction in life when nothing seems to satisfy you. It brings energy , vitality and expansion.

Anand Sahib: To bring endless bliss and heal any defeciencies in the bosy. It organises and brings happiness, harmony and peace. In this Bani, mind and body are explained in relation to cosmic divinity; it is to qualify the mind and understand one's depth. Recite this when your lower self confronts you, when you are unsuccessful and you want peace of mind.

Rehraas Sahib: Recite after you have worked hard and feel tired. It adds energy to your being. It covers your business actions and living environments. It helps you when you are physically weak, weak in money, property and earthly matters; when you feel hopeless, unsuccessful or worthless. Bentee Cahupaee is Guru Gobind Singh jees personal prayer for protection and is to liberate the soul.

Kirtan sohila: To remove the fear of death. Good to recite when your life feels boring, and you are uninspired. It multiplies to your aura, eliminates negativity in you and around you, and protects you. Excellent before you sleep at night to bring restful sleep, prevent nightmares, and create a shield of protection. This bani protects the soul on its journey after it leaves the body at death.

Sukhmani sahib: This is a prayer in the form of a song to bring everlasting peace and comfort to the mind. Its sound is tranquilizing and removes stress. Sukhmani sahib opens your heart to live in gratitude, steadies your spiritual discipline, and connects you with your strength, endurance, courage and infinite consciousness to overcome every obstacle. Listening to or reciting this baani once a day can change your destiny from misery to prosperity and give you inner balance, grace, radiance, energy and the power to sacrifice.

There are many more compositions that Guru jee has written for inspiration and support for us mere mortals...... but its up to us to read them and experience the benefits for ourselves!

  4. WJKK WJKF!!

Basically im a 18 yr old Amritdhaari and i been speakin to this Singhni for about a year now or just maybe under. She told me about 2 months after that she "liked" me in that way. She said she would get over it and it was just a phase so we left it and carried on as normal. However she told me again today that she still got feelings for me and wants to see where it would go.

I dont see her like that at all, she really just isnt my type and we would be betta off being friends. It could easily ruin our friendship that we have. And im a person who cant say "no" to anyone so i had 2 put the phone down and pretend it ran outta battery! Help me i dont know what to do!

Vaaheguroo jee ka khalsa vaaheguroo jee kee Fateh!!

    [/size]

Pajee, firstly I think u are too young to be involved in such matters, and at this age, u both should really be concentrating on ur studies, and on sikhi.

And u saying u cant say no to someone, aint right, Does that mean if someone is doing something not accepted in sikhi, u would not be able to stand strong and make the other person realize also?? Despite the fact that u are amritdharee?? – Putting the fone down and pretending it ran out of battery don't really solve issues!! .

If u have pyaar for Guru Gobind singh Jee, then u will definitely make this penjee, who is on the wrong realize, she aint doing the right thing- she is too young to be involved in such matters, and she should be working hard at school, and getting the grades to get to university etc, also tell her she should be concentrating on sikhi, ( ask her to read history of sikh women like Mata Bhani jee, Mata Gujri jee, Mai Bhago etc ) make her clearly realize she is like a sister to you and no more, and I don't think you should be talking to her really over the fone after that. It is not right to form a relationship before getting married.

    Bhul chuk maaf
