iNitnem is the best app for reading bani. Nothing can beat that !

I use GurbaniAnywhere for searching Shabad and i like their features like Random Shabad and Favorites.

I would suggest just like i did to sikhpodcast that instead of asking for donation, put a price tag of $.99 or above which will keep the ball rolling. I am sure those who can afford ipod phone/itouch etc can afford to pay a few dollars for very valuable sikhi based app(s).

If you uninstall and re-install the updated version of Gurbani Anywhere this issue will be resolved.

Am I the only one having a problem searching. When I put If I put in a ਗ in search for first letter anywhere nothing comes up, but when I put something else in it is ok. Appears that some Gurmukhi letters work fine but others don't? :S

Please use our forum for support issue. We recommend you delete the current installed version and re-install and this will resolve the issue.

Just wanted to know what people here think of new iphone 4 with iOS4. I think its pretty good.

More importantly does anyone know if Gurbanianywhere or iSikhi software will work on this new phone?

GA was designed not to rely on a specific version of the iPhone OS and GA was also designed taking multitasking into consideration as we knew along time ago that Apple would need to someday multi task their OS.

At present we have not got a version of 0S 4.0 so we cannot test for you, but techincally GA should work out of the box.

Sorry for late reply, we have been very busy with some of the projects we are working on. Not to worry, GA iPhone edition will be available in the coming weeks, we were supposed to release the iPhone version a few weeks back, but once we started adding new features we forgot to draw a line at when to stop

We are developing versions of GA with features that are not yet enabled but to help future proof our software and the vision of the Global GA Network, we need to tackle these issues now. We will keep the sangat up to date with our developments.

Yes, GA Windows Desktop Edition will have all the current GA features and many more and will change the way we present / interact with Gurbani presentations in Kirtan darbars on a global scale. Really wish all the software developers out there could create a software that makes it easy to follow along while listening to an Akhand Paath Sahib.

I believe the only one that can do so is Gurbani Anywhere. The problem with that software is that the text is too small to really follow. If you zoom in, the text goes out of the window and lots of scrolling is required.

Also, it would really help if wide screen mode can implemented (in iphone by turning the iphone).

Good news is that alot of the features you have mentioned have already been added to the Windows Mobile Edition of GA along with many more such as Larivaar script, open ang from pangatee, Full nitnem.

GA Windows Mobile Edition Version 3.0 - Will be released in the next 1-2 weeks.

As for iPhone/iTouch, better font sizes & text wrapping will be added to next release along with larivaar script and orientation i.e. landscape/portrait views, open ang from pangatee and much much more...

GA iPhone Edition Version 2.0 - Will also be released in the next few weeks.

Furture GA database enhancements - Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji Kosh (Dictionary) - "Search (Arths) meanings of any word from Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji"

We have many more enhancements that will be added to versions of GA over the coming months which will include (Bluetooth sharing, Projector add-ons, video plugins) Besides all this we are planning releases for Windows Desktop, Linux, Google Android and Blackberry.

This issue can easily be fixed by removing the font "GURAKHAR" from /Windows/Fonts directory in your Windows Mobile device. GA will continue working fine. For details please visit our FAQ page at www.gurbanianywhere.com

We have tried to keep Gurbani Anywhere a strictley search application, but we are getting overwhelming requests to include some static features such as complete nitnem list of bani's. PS. May be it's just me, but when I view ang by ang, it seems each ang finishes a lot faster than when I do path from Guru Sahib's saroop directly... :umm:

The Ang seems short as you need to scroll down the page to read entire Ang, you maybe clicking previous/next without scrolling down. I personally use the Ang by Ang feature to follow the granthi doing paath at Gurdwara sahib, great way to learn and read more Gurbani.

The app is really good , i got it running on my ipod touch, for once its doing something useful.

One thing i have noticed is that you cannot get the shabads in landscape mode? When i tilt my ipod it doesnt change the screen like it does with some apps. Is this something supported in this app?

Another feature i would love is (i know this is v1) some sort of powerpoint type display where you can have one tuk in gurmukhi, translation and transliteration. This i think will be really cool because of the video output feature of IPods and IPhones. I alreayd have the cable and we have the cabling already in the gurdwara to hook my ipod in the socket, instead of using our prehistoric laptop that we currently use for STTM software.
