Sat Sri Akal,

Just wanted to remind the sangat of Guru Ji's message to all of us regarding purpose of this priceless human life.

Gurbani is telling us to realise our origin - our soul - and if we fail to realise it before physical death, we remain in reincarnations, we continue to go through the pains of birth and death, until we reunite with our origin.

Each and everyone of us are journey to find him. We will eventually, whether in 3 months or 300 lifetimes, it depends on how much effort we make to bring the guru's wisdom in our hearts and put them into practise, it depends on how much we surrender to God, it depends on how much unconditional love, faith, trust we have towards him, it depends on how much efforts we put into our daily lifes to practise his wisdom and leave our own selfish wisdom mind - behind.

We have the greatest blessings, Dhan Dhan Sri Guru Granth Sahib, the word of God, the wisdom of God, the hukam of God, so lets put it into practise. Lets work towards bringing those priceless words of Guru Sahibans into our daily lives, lets read them and then bring them into practise, only that one is considered sikh of the guru, those who just recites it again and again but doesnt put an efforts to put those words into practise is considered deaf and dumb because you read it everyday but dont make any use of it, it is all useless just like any other knowledge that is not being put into practised!

Lets earn the word of the Guru and start walking away from maya, 5 vices, ego, lust, anger, greed, attachments, selfish desires, worldly wishes, slandering, back-biting, lets break the false illusions and delusions we are living and live the Truth, do truth and one day become truth.

Lets wear the turban of humbleness, lets wear the kara to remind ourselves that are hands are for service of others, lets remind ourselves with the kachera that we are not to use the divine power we have been given for selfish desires and use it for service of others, lets wear the kanga to remind ourself to make our mind dust of all and see one God in each and every being, lets see everyone higher than us, lets wear kirpan to remind ourself that we have weapon of name of the lord of the universe to fight against the battle of maya.

Conquer the mind, conquer the world, this is what guru nanak said, so blame not the world, but very own self, if it becomes satyug inside, it will become satyug outside too, the world is the reflection of your own mind.

Surrender with body, mind and wealth, one attains self-realisation, these were the words of guru amar das ji, lets use this body to serve others, lets replace our own selfish/evil wisdom with guru's wisdom, lets give daswandh of our earnings to the mouth of the poor, only that is one is a true servant of God.

Give up any hopes of life, make your mind dust of all, then you may come to, these are the words of dhan dhan guru arjan dev ji, so lets give up all desires and just have 1 desire which is to serve our master, lets see ourselves as lower than all and see him all, then we may go to the guru.

Only that sikh of the guru is a true sikh who follows miri and piri, if you just follow the physical part but not towards the spiritual then we have failed. Even the physical part is to help towards the spiritual part.

Oh my mind, recognise your origin, you are born from the light, you must do truth, live truth and realise truth. What is the truth? the truth is the so called sense of self is just a smoke. all that exists on this universe is ekonkaar Satnaam. The smoke of ego, the illusionary name is fake. only this one divine power sustains the entire universe, so lets forget ourself because we are just a name and live for others.

LEts see god in others, in a dog, in a cat too and serve everything and become nothing. Only that one has done true religion. One who has seen god in everything and served everything, the one who is not judging anything, one who doesnt discriminate, one who is nirvair, one who is single vision is done his true religion.

Lets not make fun of those sacrifices done by the guru sahibans and left this priceless gift of divine wisdom - sri guru granth sahib ji, lets not make fun of him and put him into practise.

bring them teachings into the heart, only then you have the right to call him your guru, otherwise hes not your guru, you can call him in your guru but he isnt.

Dear Warrior Ji,

The bad qualities of the mind is the 5 thieves which include Lust, Anger, Greed, Attachment and Ego/Pride/Selfishness and desires, worldly wishes, back-biting, slandering others etc.

The good qualities are love for all, compassion, humility, selflessness, kindness, forgiveness, contentment, patience, truthfulness, single vision (seeing all as one and same) and many more.

Gurbani clearly tells us how we should live our lives, how we should be working on bringing these divine qualities into our daily lives and trying our best to avoid the bad side of the mind (bad side explained above)

So whatever actions we are doing daily takes into form of character so if we operating on the bad side of mind and not concentrating on the good qualities our character will be of a great manmukh (follower of the selfish mind), a living demon really in other words.

However if we are putting efforts and trying to concentrate on bringing divine qualities, doing seva, simran, trying to do it everyday, then we are heading towards Gurmat (Guru's wisdom)

They are both within us (Manmatt -selfish wisdom, evil wisdom etc) and Guru's wisdom (your heart really!) God lives in your heart, so lets live our heart everyday. what does our heart tell us to do? love, compassion, be kind, serve others, help others who need it, humilities and all these things!

It becomes hard for a ordinary person operating under selfish wisdom to get in track with the inner guru, so thats why outside guru becomes essential, so you can go ready SGGS and put the divine knowledge into practise everyday and then you are bound to suceed and get closer and closer to God living within you.

Above all, we really cant do all these things by ourselves, so we have to keep on doing constant prayers to Akal purakh, all the satgurus to give us the strength to do devotional worship, we need to keep on begging for divine qualities and confessing all our misdeeds, we need to keep on begging God for his bhagti, naam simran, seva and so on.

So just keep on doing your ardaas regularly to ekonkaar paar brahm parmeshar and try waking up early morning hours do your naam simran in your mind, keep on doing your seva at gurudwara or other voluntary work, keep on giving daswandh to charity (they say mouth of the poor is guru's moneybox). Go beyond sikhism as a religion because Guru ji's hukam is to see one god in all, irrespective of colour, cast, creed etc.

Surrendering with body, mind and wealth, one attains self-realisation, these are words of the guru sahibans, so lets keep on working towards putting these priceless words into practise. Lets keep on surrendering ourselfs to almighty, and you will start to see difference in you, surrendering completely plays an important and crucial role in bhagti.

So keep praying for gurus grace, keep on surrendering and get out of the shackles of maya, keep on increasing your love, faith and trust in God and gurus, concentrating on naam simran, bring the word of the guru (gurbani) into practise and soon you will start to see a big difference in yourself.
