  1. Moving from here - What lesson should we learn from history?

This might be a small slice/share which we haven't got in the past and we should not worry for ever for that - some big reward for us might be lying in the future - for which we really need take a positive lesson from whatever has happened in the past.

    Very Nice thought singh saab.

  2. Its nonsense....British never offered a free state to the Sikhs. There is no record of this.

But as Kapur Singh wrote in his Saachi Saakhi, Muslim League gave a verbal offer to the Sikhs to have a sub nation within Pakistan. And this was never acceptable to the Sikhs, given the history the Sikhs had with Muslim rulers.

Dr. Kirpal Singh, an acclaimed Sikh historian and Head of History Department, Punjab University, who has done thorough research on the Partition of Punjab and has also written a thesis on this subject, also says that there was no such offer to Sikhs. He also says that Muslim League offered a sub state to the Sikhs within Pakistan. That would mean the whole of Punjab would go under Pakistan. The Sikh leaders asked if they have a choice and possibility to come out of this in 10 years if things dont work fine. The Muslim League said, No. The Sikhs asked if they can be given anything in writing on this, and the League didnt agree on this either.

According to him it was wise deicision by the Sikh leadership that they didnt accept Mulsim League's offer of a sub-state.

    Rest is history...

Striking Part of the article is as below:

In the month of May, 1947, precisely on the 17th May, Lord Mountbatten, Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru, Nawab Liaqat Ali Khan and Sardar Baldev Singh, flew to London on the invitation of the British Cabinet, in search of final solution of the Indian communal problem. When the Congress and the Muslim League failed to strike any mutual understanding and Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru decided to return to India, the British Cabinet leaders conveyed to Sardar Baldev Singh that if he stays behind, arrangements might be made: "So as to enable the Sikhs to have political feet of their own on which they may walk into the current of World History." Sardar Baldev Singh promtly divulged the contents of this confidential offer to Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru and in compliance with the latter's wishes, declined to stay back and flew back to India after giving the following brave message to the Press: "The Sikhs have no demands to make on the British except the demand that they should quit India. Whatever political rights and aspirations the Sikhs have, they shall have them satisfied through the goodwil of the Congress and the majority community."

The British leaders had asked Sardar Baldev Singh to stay behind because the wanted to propose to him that if Sikhs were not ready to enter into the agreement with Muslims, then the Sikhs could be given an independent state which extended from Panipat to Nanakana Sahib with extended excess upto the seashore. The Britishers were ready to station 25,000 British troops and war equipment for ten years and provide help in the administration provided the Sikhs agreed to provide 50,000 soldiers be stationed at Singapore and other colonies to help the Britishers for the next ten years. After ten years the agreement could be reconsidered. Through this agreement the administration and defence of independent Khalistan would have been ensured and there would have been no need to enter into an agreement with either India or Pakistan for the purposes of their administration and defence. Even Muslim League had agreed this proposal because it would give then strong buffer state between Pakistan and India. It was also in the interest British empire as they would still have their feet in this sub-continent. But was unfortunate that there was no leader among the Sikhs with political vision foresight who could see the benefits such an arrangement and demand independent Homeland for the Sikhs

  3. Dear See this link http://amitabhbacchan1984.blogspot.com/

You will see completely with proof how he was involved in this massacre.

    Raju,

Did anybody ever day that Amjad Khan or Ajit were involved?? Or is it just you saying?

Because it is highly possible that Bachchan did incite mobs... As it is claimed he was seen on DoorDarshan saying the blood should reach to the home of the murderers (= Sikhs)...

  4. More and more propaganda to soil our history and the real people behind the fight

You see if they confuse your history you eventually lose your sense of direction and get lost from your original aims

So therefore by attacking the reputation of our histories true leaders such as Tohra they try and defuse momentum for our movement in the future they are aware they are coming up against an new educated threat they fear SIkhs who read and so by confusing them no end they try to put a stop to the confidence and momentum the panth is gathering

    SSA gadget Ji,

I am really proud that Sikhs of our generation are reading and having access to loads of information about history and everything. I m quite sure you are in great veil of delusion about the akalis of today, from 1980 onwards. You know who was the chief minister of pUnjab when 13 armless singhs were shot dead by nirankari supporters on 13 april 1978. Are you aware which leaders had set up direct link with INdira regarding the failure of Morcha and killing of Sant Jarnail. There were attempts to poison sant, which he survived. Surinder singh secretary of Longowal was given the charge. Finally, when they could not find anyone who could do the job for them, They planned the killing of Bhai Surinder singh Sodhi, right hand of Sant, as he called him. Even some singhs had requested to "SODH" the Akali traitors, but sant didnot want morcha to fall apart, and didnt want akalis to be portrayed as shaheeds, He told them that they would meet their own destiny. Khalsa ji, none of the promises of rajiv-longowal pact has been fulfilled. Even Amritsar not given the status of Heritage City till date. About Rode, He supplied cheap ammunition to singhs out of the money from Abroad. He has played in hands of Anti-Punjab, Anti-Sikh forces.

they try to put a stop to the confidence and momentum the panth is gathering

Also Please elaborate on Momentum gathered by Panth? Any instances you have witnessed ??

  5. chaman lal resignation was over the govt's plan to create terror in panjab to use as an excuse to kill sikhs, and also the brutality of the police. he was a police oficer who wasnt prepared to for the law to be dictated by the police rather the other way round. I would be surprised if someone would give up such a coveted position over 1 man being used as a political pawn. It just doesn't make sense.

Well this could have been a ploy by the government to show that Jathedar of Akal takht was being played by them. Which they already did by not telling him to work towards getting Simranjit mann and other singhs out of jail and lwhich later became reason of animosity between them. On the other hand told mann that they would get Mann out of jail instantly, but were not asked even once by Rode. - Quoted from Hardeep Singh Dibdiba's Saaka Neela tara ton baad.

Govt's plan was to get each sikh against other, which they were successful in. I admire that, although its our failure. But It did happen for better, since It brought forward the Strength of character of sikh leaders, who were selling lives of sikhs and their religion.

  6. I think This might a step in a direction to develop an institution in sikh kaum which could achieve something concrete unlike Badal's SGPC (No More SGPC, Family Business). SGPC holds no sanctity now. Earlier SGPC jathedar would be consulted for any matters pertaining to sikhs, but now Badal directs Jathedar what to speak and what not, Jathedar no more than a dummy item, a puppet. Shame for the kaum.

Most important on aganda of RSGPC is that they propose to give chance to Dalit sikhs in administration. I think this would bring back the charm of sikhism to non-sikhs. baaki waheguru ji kirpa karan, Kaum da hala hove, desh da bhala hove.

  7. Waheguru ji ka khalsa Waheguru j iki fateh

im sure evry1s tired of hearin this, i m too...Wutz the point of ur post?

just to make another gursikh look bad..maybe he isnt a gursikh, maybe he is...who r we to judge...

    SSA raj_karega_khalsa Ji,

I wish to reply to your post. No Offenses but I guess you dont live in punjab. Since If the leaders who are representing sikh population are corrupt and downgraded by character, shouldnt we be aware of that? If they are corrupting our great heroes and Great singhs glory, shouldnt we recognise it ?? how has Rode corrupted it, to know about it I would request you to take some time out for reading "Saaka Neela Tara ton baad" by Hardeep Singh Dibdiba.

  8. Some of the beliefs of RSS include:

    1. Instead of initiating humans, Guru Ji sacrificed goats and started the tradition of Punj Pyaaray. "All five Pyaaras were followers of the Hindu faith" {Dr. Himmat Sinh in Rashtra Dharam)
    2. "The Sikh Gurus showed faith in the Hindu faith and visited Hindu pilgrimage sites to show this" (Rashtra Dharam, p. 31)
    3. "When Guru Arjan was doing the Kar Seva of Harimandeir, Vishnu reflected and said, 'Lakshmi, the Guru is my own form. There is no difference between us. He is making my temple. Let us go and see the building of our new temple'…" (Rashtra Dharam, 90)
    4. "The difference between Hindus and Sikhs was the creation of the English mind." (Rashtra Dharam, 98)
    5. "If today someone were to make a portrait of Guru Nanak without a beard and turban, his life would be in danger but in fact, the practice of keeping long hair and beards began only in the 20th Century. (Madhu Kishvara, Hindustan Times Aug 21, 1999)
    6. "Guru Arjan Dev and Guru Tegh Bahadur used to pay obeisance to the feet of the Devi" (Surindar Kumar, Jag Bani)
    7. "Guru Gobind Singh with the blessings of the Avtars (Brahma, Vishnu, Shiva) created the Khalsa Panth." (Sangat Sandesh, Sept 1998)
    8. "Maharana Partap, the Rani of Jhansi and Guru Gobind Singh were all great patriots" (Rashtra Dharam)
    9. "The Sangh [RSS] is the Khalsa" (Ravani, Dec 1997).

  9. Dalsingh ji

This really makes me, at least, ashamed of where we as a religion are heading. Moreover, Akali Dal which was founded with a righteous concern of freeing gurudwaras from Mahants and English Control, is now leading Quam into such a direction. I being a Punjab resident has witnessed the spell of akalis on people, even my relatives, singing hymns for akali dal that they are representatives of panth. Our misfortune is that there is no alternative to cast this spell off. History gave chances to others in punjab to cast this spell off, but they too fell prey to charm of power.

Let them fill their vessel of sins and betrayal towards Quam. Waheguru Ji does justice to all.
