    My dear child,

    this is a Sangat Forum and not a FRIENDSHIP FORUM. So

    I request all the Sikh sangat members to please avoid adressing any

    body like "LOL" or some bad name rather we should use words like

    Bhaa ji , Veer ji , Bhaee sahib ji, Sister , Bhen ji etc. becoz while in

    Sangat Forum , we should not forget that Guru Gobind Singh ji Maharaj

    has told us:-

    Khalsa mero roop he khaas ,

    Khalse meh hau karau niwaas,

    Khalsa mero sajjan soora,

    Khalsa mero Satgur poora.

    Bhai Jag Singh ji for starting JAPU JI SAHIB and giving us golden oportunity

    to write Gurbaani in the form of Japji Sahib becoz Gurbaani tells :-

    " Kehate sabh dhann , sunte pavitt , likhteen kul taareya jeeo."

    Please, give me Your hand, and pull me up out of this world-ocean. ||2||

    Aavan jaanaa thum hee keeaa ||

    Coming and going are by Your Will.

    ਜਿਸੁ ਤੂ ਰਾਖਹਿ ਤਿਸੁ ਦੂਖੁ ਨ ਥੀਆ ॥੩॥

    Jis thoo raakhehi this dhookh n thheeaa ||3||

    One whom You save is not afflicted by suffering. ||3||

    Saangdarohisaiph as teer tupak talvaar, Sattraantak kavchaant(i) kardareeai rachchh hamaar||1||

    O Lord ! Protect us by creating Saang, Sarohi, Saif (Sword), As, Teer (arrow) tupak (gun),

    Talwaar (sword), and other weapons and armours causing the destruction of the enemies.

    ਅਸ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਨ ਧਾਰਾਧਰੀ ਸੈਲ ਸੂਫ ਜਮਦਾਢ ॥ ਕਵਚਾਂਤਕ ਸੱਤ੍ਰਾਂਤ ਕਰ ਤੇਗ ਤੀਰ ਧਰਬਾਢ ॥੨॥

    O Lord ! Creat As, Kripan (sword), Dharaddhari, Sail, Soof, Jamaadh, Tegh (saber), Teer (saber),

    Teer (arrow), Talwar(sward), causing the destruction of armours and enemies.

    As, Kripan (sword), Khanda, Khadag (straight sword), Tupak (gun), Tabar (hatched),

    Teer (arrow), Saif (sword), Sarohi and Saihathi, all these are our adorable seniors..

    ਤੀਰ ਤੁਹੀ ਸੈਹਥੀ ਤੁਹੀ ਤੁਹੀ ਤਬਰ ਤਲਵਾਰ ॥ ਨਾਮ ਤਿਹਾਰੋ ਜੋ ਜਪੈ ਭਏ ਸਿੰਧ ਭਵ ਪਾਰ ॥੪॥

    Teer tuhi saihathi tuhi tuhi tabar talvaar, Naam tihdaro jo japai bhae sindh bhav paar||4||

    Thou are the Teer (arrow), Thou are Saihathi, Thou art Tabar (hatchet), and Talwaar (sword);

    he, who remembers Thy Name crosses the dreadful ocean of existence.

    Thou art the KAL (death), thou art the goddess Kali, Thou art the saber and arrow,

  8. When Guru Gobind singh ji's Anandpur kila was sorrounded by the 10lakh forces of mughls for 7 months. Sikhs didnot get proper food, water supply and basic neccesities. Few sikhs came to Guru Gobind singh ji(incl. Mahan Singh ji). They told GUruji that We should leave the kila and get out of it quickly. Maharaji ji told wait for 5 months more, after 5th month Khalsa shall rule the World. they refused. Maharaji again said;'Ok, wait for 2months and Khalsa da flag shall rule 4corners of the world' again they refused stating that they cannot live without food. Maharaji then said ;'then wait for 24hours' they said you say 24 hours we cannot even stay here for another 5 minutes. then Maharaji gave a pice of paper to those sikhs who wanted to leave to write' Asi tere sikh nahi, tusi saade guru nahi'. Maharaji said Khalsa Raj has gone in future. Now i will come in future again to resurrect KHALSA RAJ which shall rule 14000 years(Har ju Harmandir Avange).

    Mahima Satgur Di, Kahan kathan too bari. Its very diffcult to understand certain aspects of Guruji's History. Only Puran Brahmgyani or Sant can explain such Secrets,aspects.

    ਹੁਕਮੈ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਸਭੁ ਕੋ ਬਾਹਰਿ ਹੁਕਮ ਨ ਕੋਇ ॥

    Hukamai andhar sabh ko baahar hukam n koe ||

    Everyone is subject to His Command; no one is beyond His Command.

    ਨਾਨਕ ਹੁਕਮੈ ਜੇ ਬੁਝੈ ਤ ਹਉਮੈ ਕਹੈ ਨ ਕੋਇ ॥੨॥

    Naanak hukamai jae bujhai th houmai kehai n koe ||2||

    O Nanak, one who understands His Command, does not speak in ego. ||2||

    As such all happens in the Hukam of Akaal Purakh and Bedaava given by the Singhs

    under Bhai Mahaan Singh was also a choj of Akaal Purakh to save Khalsa Panth from

    enjoying Bhog Bilaas of dirty politics because Baba Nanak ji told in Gurbani:-

    "Illat ka nau chodharee"

    means whosoever is the leader ,he will definitely be mischievous.

    Moreover where ever in history we had committed mistakes , those

    mistakes are our paath for future and teach us certain lessons for our

    forthcoming generations.

  9. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh!

    I'm at a point in my life where I'm seriously thinking about taking Amrit. My Guru's hukam is for me to take this path and with his blessing my dream will come true. I've been speaking to several close family members about this and one of them has suggested that I start to wear ALL 5 K's before taking Amrit in a bid to 'train' my body and mind in preparation for the Rehit which comes with taking Amrit. I've never really thought of doing this before, I mean, I have my Kesh, wear a Kara but to wear ALL 5 K's before taking Amrit?!? The more of I think of this, the more it becomes appealing, however, what does the Sangat think?

    Is this is a good or bad thing? Is it allowed?

    If anyone has any suggestions or answers please post your replies as any feedback would be very much appreciated. Bul Chuk Maaf.

    Yes you can go ahead wear kakkars and do NITNEM regularly and take it

    as reharsal before final match or like , on the job training before joining

    at some respectable post.

  10. Let SGPC say tht NITNEM has 3 banis for morning and reharaas for evening

    and Sohila for night , but it is universal truth that at the time of AMRIT SANSKAAR

    (Amrit Sanchaar) 5 Pyare recite Jap ji , Jaap sahib, Savaeeye, Chaupaee and

    Anand Sahib (Panj Baaniya) and the same are AMRIT VELE da NITNEM and

    Reharaas for evening and Sohila for night.

    If we take the Panthak Maryada approved by SGPC , and accept it that

    Japji, Jaap Sahib and Savaeeye are the 3 Baanis of Nitnem , even then nobody

    is going to stop us by doing Paathh of Chaupaee and Anand Sahib , rather so many

    Guru ke Singh do Aasa di Vaar, Sukhmani Sahib ji and other Banis as their regular

    nitnem, and there is no dispute on this point that you can read as many Baanis as

    much as you can and as more as you can and as long as you can .

    Dhhaavo dhasaa anaek praem prabh kaaranae ||

    I run around in all directions, searching for the love of God.

    ਪੰਚ ਸਤਾਵਹਿ ਦੂਤ ਕਵਨ ਬਿਧਿ ਮਾਰਣੇ ॥

    Panch sathaavehi dhooth kavan bidhh maaranae ||

    The five evil enemies are tormenting me; how can I destroy them?

    ਤੀਖਣ ਬਾਣ ਚਲਾਇ ਨਾਮੁ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਧ੍ਯ੍ਯਾਈਐ ॥

    Theekhan baan chalaae naam prabh dhhyaaeeai ||

    Shoot them with the sharp arrows of meditation on the Name of God.

    ਹਰਿਹਾਂ ਮਹਾਂ ਬਿਖਾਦੀ ਘਾਤ ਪੂਰਨ ਗੁਰੁ ਪਾਈਐ ॥੧੬॥

    Harihaan mehaan bikhaadhee ghaath pooran gur paaeeai ||16||

    O Lord! The way to slaughter these terrible sadistic enemies is

    obtained from the Perfect Guru. ||16||

    Hae kaaman narak bisraaman bahu jonee bhramaavaneh ||

    O sexual desire, you lead the mortals to hell; you make them

    wander in reincarnation through countless species.

    ਚਿਤ ਹਰਣੰ ਤ੍ਰੈ ਲੋਕ ਗੰਮ੍ਯ੍ਯੰ ਜਪ ਤਪ ਸੀਲ ਬਿਦਾਰਣਹ ॥

    chith haranan thrai lok ganmyan jap thap seel bidhaaraneh ||

    You cheat the consciousness, and pervade the three worlds.

    You destroy meditation, penance and virtue.

    ਅਲਪ ਸੁਖ ਅਵਿਤ ਚੰਚਲ ਊਚ ਨੀਚ ਸਮਾਵਣਹ ॥

    alap sukh avith chanchal ooch neech samaavaneh ||

    But you give only shallow pleasure, while you make the mortals

    weak and unsteady; you pervade the high and the low.

    ਤਵ ਭੈ ਬਿਮੁੰਚਿਤ ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਮ ਓਟ ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਰਾਇਣਹ ॥੪੬॥

    thav bhai bimunchith saadhh sangam outt naanak naaraaeineh ||46||

    Your fear is dispelled in the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy,

    O Nanak, through the Protection and Support of the Lord. ||46||

    ਬਸੰਤੁ ਮਹਲਾ ੯ ॥ ( at 1186 Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji)

    Basant, Ninth Mehl:

    ਪਾਪੀ ਹੀਐ ਮੈ ਕਾਮੁ ਬਸਾਇ ॥

    Paapee heeai mai kaam basaae ||

    The heart of the sinner is filled with unfulfilled sexual desire.

    ਮਨੁ ਚੰਚਲੁ ਯਾ ਤੇ ਗਹਿਓ ਨ ਜਾਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

    Manu chanchal yaa thae gehiou n jaae ||1|| rehaao ||

    He cannot control his fickle mind. ||1||Pause||

    ਜੋਗੀ ਜੰਗਮ ਅਰੁ ਸੰਨਿਆਸ ॥

    Jogee jangam ar sanniaas ||

    The Yogis, wandering ascetics and renunciates

    ਸਭ ਹੀ ਪਰਿ ਡਾਰੀ ਇਹ ਫਾਸ ॥੧॥

    Sabh hee par ddaaree eih faas ||1||

    - this net is cast over them all. ||1||

    ਜਿਹਿ ਜਿਹਿ ਹਰਿ ਕੋ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਮ੍ਹ੍ਹਾਰਿ ॥

    jihi jihi har ko naam samhaar ||

    Those who contemplate the Name of the Lord

    ਤੇ ਭਵ ਸਾਗਰ ਉਤਰੇ ਪਾਰਿ ॥੨॥

    thae bhav saagar outharae paar ||2||

    cross over the terrifying world-ocean. ||2||

    ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਹਰਿ ਕੀ ਸਰਨਾਇ ॥

    jan naanak har kee saranaae ||

    Servant Nanak seeks the Sanctuary of the Lord.

    ਦੀਜੈ ਨਾਮੁ ਰਹੈ ਗੁਨ ਗਾਇ ॥੩॥੨॥

    Deejai naam rehai gun gaae ||3||2||

    Please bestow the blessing of Your Name, that he may

    continue to sing Your Glorious Praises. ||3||2||

  12. We can do only Ardaas to WAHEGURU to save ourselvesfrom

    all the five vikaars i.e. Kaam ,Krodh ,Lobh ,Moh and Ahankaar.

    But Guru Gobid Singh Ji added another in these five and says:-

    ਕਾਮ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਹੰਕਾਰ ਲੋਭ ਹਠ ਮੋਹ ਨ ਮਨ ਸੋ ਲਯਾਵੈ ॥

    Kaam krodh hankaar lobh hath moh na man so lyaavai ||

    ਤਬ ਹੀ ਆਤਮ ਤਤ ਕੋ ਦਰਸੇ ਪਰਮ ਪੁਰਖ ਕਹ ਪਾਵੈ ॥੩॥੧॥

    Tab hiaatam tat ko dares param purakh kah paavai||3||1||

    The Lord is One and he can be attained through the grace of the True Guru.

    Utaar khaase daskhat kaa|| Patishaahoo 10||

    Akaal purakh kee rachhaa hamnai||

    The non-temporal Purusha (All-Pervading Lord) is my Protector.

    ਸਰਬ ਲੋਹ ਦੀ ਰਛਿਆ ਹਮਨੈ ॥

    Sarab loh dee rachhiaa hamnai||

    The All-Steel Lord is my Protector.

    ਸਰਬ ਕਾਲ ਜੀ ਦੀ ਰਛਿਆ ਹਮਨੈ ॥

    Sarab kaal jee dee rachhiaa hamnai||

    The All-Destroying Lord is my protector.

    ਸਰਬ ਲੋਹ ਜੀ ਦੀ ਸਦਾ ਰਛਿਆ ਹਮਨੈ ॥

    Sarab loh jee dee sadaa racchiaa hamnai||

    The All-Steel Lord is ever my Protector.

    Sati sangate maylaap kare panch doot sanghaaray|

    ਵਿਚਿ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਢੋਈ ਨਾ ਲਹਨਿ ਜੋ ਖਸਮੁ ਵਿਸਾਰੇ ।

    Viche sangate ddhoee naa|ahani jo khasamu visaaray|

    ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਮਥੇ ਉਜਲੇ ਸਚੇ ਦਰਬਾਰੇ ।

    Guramukhi maday ujalay sachay darabaaray|

    ਹਰਿ ਗੁਰੁ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਧਿਆਈਐ ਸਚਿ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਵੇਲਾ ।

    Har guru gobind dhiaaeeai sachi anmrit vaylaa|

    ਵਾਹ ਵਾਹ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਸਿੰਘ ਆਪੇ ਗੁਰੁ ਚੇਲਾ ॥੨॥

    Vaah vaah gobind singh aapay guru chaylaa ॥2॥

    praan meet paramaatamaa purakhotam pooraa|

    ਪੋਖਨਹਾਰ ਪਾਤਿਸਾਹ ਹੈ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਪਾਲਨ ਊਰਾ ।

    pokhanahaar paatisaah hai pratipaalan ooraa|

    ਪਤਿਤ ਉਧਾਰਨ ਪ੍ਰਾਨਪਤਿ ਸਦ ਸਦਾ ਹਜੂਰਾ ।

    patit udhaaran praanapati sad sadaa hajooraa|

    Mur pit poorab kooyas(i) payaanaa|| Bhaant(i) bhaant(i) ke toorah(i) naanaa||

    My father proceeded towards the east and visited several places of pilgrimage.

    ਜਬ ਹੀ ਜਾਤ ਤ੍ਰਿਬੇਣੀ ਭਏ ॥ ਪੁੰਨ ਦਾਨ ਦਿਨ ਕਰਤ ਬਿਤਏ ॥੧॥

    Jab hoo jaat tribaanoo bhae|| Punn daan din karat bitae||1||

    When he went to Triveni (Prayag), he passed his days in act of charity.1.

    ਤਹੀ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਸ ਹਮਾਰਾ ਭਯੋ ॥ ਪਟਨਾ ਸਹਰ ਬਿਖੈ ਭਵ ਲਯੋ ॥

    Tahee prakaas hamaaraa bhayo|| Patnaa sahar bikhai bhav layo||

    I was conceived there and took birth at Patna.

    ਮੱਦ੍ਰ ਦੇਸ ਹਮ ਕੋ ਲੇ ਆਏ ॥ ਭਾਂਤਿ ਭਾਂਤਿ ਦਾਈਅਨਿ ਦੁਲਰਾਏ ॥੨॥

    Maddra des ham ko le aae|| Bhaant(i) bhaant(i) daaooan(i) dulraae||2||

    Whence I was brought to Madra Desh (Punjab), where I was caressed by various nurses.2

    ਕੀਨੀ ਅਨਿਕ ਭਾਂਤਿ ਤਨ ਰੱਛਾ ॥ ਦੀਨੀ ਭਾਂਤਿ ਭਾਂਤਿ ਕੀ ਸਿੱਛਾ ॥

    Koonoo anik bhaant tan rachchhaad| Doonoo bhaant(i) bhaant(i) koo sichchaa||

    I was given physical protection in various ways and given various types of education.

    ਜਬ ਹਮ ਧਰਮ ਕਰਮ ਮੋ ਆਏ ॥ ਦੇਵ ਲੋਕ ਤਬ ਪਿਤਾ ਸਿਧਾਏ ॥੩॥

    Jab ham dharam karam mo aae|| Dev lok tab pitaa sidhaae||3||

    When I began to perform the act of Dharma (righteousness), my father departed for his heavenly abode.3.

  17. Please dont get confused between the words "KALIKA" and "KAL KA".

    Becoz Guru Sahib Ji in Bachitter Natak is Explaining the story of his previous

    janam when he was not Guru Gobind Singh JI rather his name in previous

    LIFE WAS DUSHAT DAMAN when he was meditating at HEM KUNT and after

    leaving the body of DUSHAT DAMAN ,he took birth as GOBIND RAI who at the

    age of 9 years became GURU GOBIND RAI and on VISAAKHI 1699 he became

    GURU GOBIND SINGH JI after taking KHANDE DA AMRIT(PAAHUL ) from 5 pyare .

    As such we are not concerned with his previous janams story weather he

    worshipped KAAL KA MAHAHKAAL or KALIKA.

    Leave the story of previous janam, GURU ANGAD DEV JI , before coming

    into contact with GURU NANAK DEV JI , when his name was BHAI LEHNA JI,

    has been worshipping JAWALA/CHINTPURNI but after coming into contact with

    GURU NANAK DEV JI, Bhai Lehna ji refuted the worship of any God /Goddess

    and became a true SIKH of GURU NANAK JI and after some years of sewa,obeying

    all tye hukams of SATGURU ,word by word, became GURU ANGAD SAHIB.

    A nd all the above sakhi does not at all teach us to worship the Goddess.

    GURU GRANTH SAHIB teaches us :-

    "GUR KAHIYA SA KAAR KAMAAVAHU, GUR KI KARNI KAHE DHAAVAHU."

    Bhul chuk khima , Waheguru ji ka Khal;sa Waheguru ji ki Fateh.

  18. ਮਾਝ ਮਹਲਾ ੪ ॥

    Maajh, Fourth Mehl:

    ਮਧੁਸੂਦਨ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਤਨ ਪ੍ਰਾਨਾ ॥

    madhhusoodhan maerae man than praanaa ||

    The Lord is my mind, body and breath of life.

    ਹਉ ਹਰਿ ਬਿਨੁ ਦੂਜਾ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਜਾਨਾ ॥

    ho har bin dhoojaa avar n jaanaa ||

    I do not know any other than the Lord.

    ਕੋਈ ਸਜਣੁ ਸੰਤੁ ਮਿਲੈ ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਮੈ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਦਸੈ ਜੀਉ ॥੧॥

    koee sajan santh milai vaddabhaagee mai har prabh piaaraa dhasai jeeo ||1||

    If only I could have the good fortune to meet some friendly Saint;

    he might show me the Way to my Beloved Lord God. ||1||

    ਹਉ ਮਨੁ ਤਨੁ ਖੋਜੀ ਭਾਲਿ ਭਾਲਾਈ ॥

    ho man than khojee bhaal bhaalaaee ||

    I have searched my mind and body, through and through.

    ਕਿਉ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮੁ ਮਿਲੈ ਮੇਰੀ ਮਾਈ ॥

    kio piaaraa preetham milai maeree maaee ||

    How can I meet my Darling Beloved, O my mother?

    ਮਿਲਿ ਸਤਸੰਗਤਿ ਖੋਜੁ ਦਸਾਈ ਵਿਚਿ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਵਸੈ ਜੀਉ ॥੨॥

    mil sathasangath khoj dhasaaee vich sangath har prabh vasai jeeo ||2||

    Joining the Sat Sangat, the True Congregation, I ask about the Path to God.

    In that Congregation, the Lord God abides. ||2||

    ਮੇਰਾ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਰਖਵਾਲਾ ॥

    maeraa piaaraa preetham sathigur rakhavaalaa ||

    My Darling Beloved True Guru is my Protector.

    ਹਮ ਬਾਰਿਕ ਦੀਨ ਕਰਹੁ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਪਾਲਾ ॥

    ham baarik dheen karahu prathipaalaa ||

    I am a helpless child-please cherish me.

    ਮੇਰਾ ਮਾਤ ਪਿਤਾ ਗੁਰੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਪੂਰਾ ਗੁਰ ਜਲ ਮਿਲਿ ਕਮਲੁ ਵਿਗਸੈ ਜੀਉ ॥੩॥

    maeraa maath pithaa gur sathigur pooraa gur jal mil kamal vigasai jeeo ||3||

    The Guru, the Perfect True Guru, is my Mother and Father. Obtaining the

    Water of the Guru, the lotus of my heart blossoms forth. ||3||

    ਮੈ ਬਿਨੁ ਗੁਰ ਦੇਖੇ ਨੀਦ ਨ ਆਵੈ ॥

    mai bin gur dhaekhae needh n aavai ||

    Without seeing my Guru, sleep does not come.

    ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਤਨਿ ਵੇਦਨ ਗੁਰ ਬਿਰਹੁ ਲਗਾਵੈ ॥

    maerae man than vaedhan gur birahu lagaavai ||

    My mind and body are afflicted with the pain of separation from the Guru.

    ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਦਇਆ ਕਰਹੁ ਗੁਰੁ ਮੇਲਹੁ ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰ ਮਿਲਿ ਰਹਸੈ ਜੀਉ ॥੪॥੨॥

    har har dhaeiaa karahu gur maelahu jan naanak gur mil rehasai jeeo ||4||2||

    O Lord, Har, Har, show mercy to me, that I may meet my Guru. Meeting the Guru,

    servant Nanak blossoms forth. ||4||2||

  19. SATSANGAT means SACH (truth) di Sangat and in Gurbani it is told :-

    "Satsangat kaisi jaaniye, Jithe eko Naam vakhaaniye"

    mean , the place where veechaar or talk about EKO NAAM (or Akaal

    Purakh) is done.This may be a place where two or more Sikhs join togather

    and discuss about EKO NAAM, or this place may be Heart of alone SIKH

    who is deep meditation OF Eko Naam and during maditation he feels not

    alone but doing Sangat of SATGURU/AKAAL PURAKH and Gurbaani veechar

    starts within his Heart and during this process many of his unsolved questions

    about Gurbani and any thing and every thing are solved.

    SAADH SANGAT is sangat of SATGURU physically, that is when Sikhs and others

    come in presence of Sri GURU GRANTH SAHIB JI, and this may be in Gurudwara

    Sahib or any other place where sangat enjoys presence of Sri GURU GRANTH SAHIB JI.
