  1. Vaheguru ji ka khalsa Vaheguru ji ki fateh

Just got a email reminding me of this Gur ka Sikh a True servant of the Panth may we never forget his kurbani

    Vaheguru

We will spill our last drop of blood and to the last man we will fight for Khalistan.'

The immortal words of Shaheed Singh Sahib Baba Gurbachan Singh Manochahal

    Jathadar Sri Akal Takhat Sahib

General of Bhindranwala Tiger Force of Khalistan (B.T.F.K)

Baba ji’s Shaheedi anniversary falling on February 28

The history of the Sikh nation is filled with sacrifices and whenever the rulers of India or any invader has tried to finish the Sikhs by oppression the Khalsa Panth has retaliated by bringing the oppressor to justice

    .

In recent times the Indian authorities have been trying to eliminate not only the Sikh people but also those belonging to other minorities in India by persecution and genocide. Sant Jarnail Singh Khalsa Bhindranwale awakened a sleeping nation and invited the Sikhs to raise their voices against the tyrant rulers. In this struggle to defend the Sikh nation thousands of brave Sikhs have received martyrdom and one of these is Baba Gurbachan Singh Manochahal who was one of the greatest leaders of the present struggle.

In the district of Amritsar, Tehsil Taran Taran there is a village known as Manochahal. In this village Mata Gurmej Kaur the wife of Atma Singh gave birth to Gurbachan Singh Manochahal in 1954. After having passed his metric exams his father wanted him to work on the family land but Baba Manochahal had no interest in this. So he joined the army as a surveyor. While in the army he felt an awakening for Sikhi and his consciousness led him towards the essence of Guru Ji's teachings.

After four years service in the army he decided to leave and went to live at his maternal grandfather's house to look after their land because they were in a foreign country. It was here that Baba Manochahal became a Granthi (priest) at Baba Dhanna Gurudwara. Whilst he was staying here Sant Kartar Singh Khalsa Bhindranwale 13th Jathadar Damdami Taksaal came to give Amrit Sanchar and to do parchar. Baba Manochahal was so influenced by Sant Ji's he utterances that he became a firm believer in Sant's message. After this initial meeting Baba Manochahal stayed at the headquarters of Damdami Taksal at Mehta on many occasions.

In 1978 a group calling themselves Sant Nirankaris organised a convention in Amritsar on April l3th, the Birthday of the Khalsa. The so-called Nirankaris backed by the Congress Party were under the leadership of one Gurbachan `Singh' who had claimed himself to be a prophet and incarnation of Guru Nanak Dev ji. At the gathering the Nirankaris mocked the Sikh faith and insulted the Sri Guru- Granth Sahib Ji. On hearing this Sant Bhindranwale sent a group of devote sikhs under the leadership,of Bhai Fauja Singh to hold a peaceful protest march to the place where the socalled Nirankaris were gathering. However the Nirankaris and the police fired upon the Sikhs resulting in the martyrdom of 13 Sikhs and 80 were further injured including Baba Manochahal who was shot in the arm.

In 1982 The Sikh Freedom Fighters shot Lala Jagat Narain the editor of the Hind Samachar newspaper which was writing derogatory; remarks directed against the Sikh religion. In connection with this case a warrant was issued for Sant Bhindranwale and in order to arrest him raids were made in Chando Kalan (Haryana) and Bombay. Baba Manochahal was with Sant Bhindranwale during this time and they managed to reach Mehta Chowk. At Mehta Chowk Sant Bhindranwala peacefully courted arrest. After the arrest the police without any reason shot 22 Sikhs dead and wounded many more. Unable to falsely find Sant Bhindranwale guilty the Brahmin Government was forced to release him. On being released Sant Bhindranwale went straight to the Darbar Sahib and started the `Dharam Yudh' morcha.

    ..

In June 1984 the Indian rulers attacked the Darbar Sahib resulting in thousands of innocent men, women and children being butchered. After this incident and the atrocities generally being committed against the Sikhs Baba Manochahal decided to fight in the armed struggle. His first action was in his own village where he shot and killed a soldier after which he absconded

    .

The police in order to force Baba Manochahal to give himself up took from his maternal grandparents home their jeep, motorcycle, tractor and then burnt their crops. They also started to harass his family, which included violence

    .

At Manochahal village the Punjab police and the CRP surrounded Baba Manochahal and an

encounter ensued in which Inspector Bhupinder Singh and many other police officers were killed. Baba Manochahal broke through the police cordon and escaped. By 1986 Baba Ji had 9 encounters with the army and police and always broke through their cordons and escaped.

On the 26 July 1986 a Sarbat Khalsa was called at the Sri Akaal Takhat Sahib which the Punjab police tried to prevent by blocking and barricading all the roads leading to Darbar Sahib. A five member Panthic Committee was established to over look the affairs of the Sikh Nation and Baba Manochahal was chosen as one of the five. On the 29th April 1986 the Panthic Committee declared that the Sikhs would struggle for the establishment of an independent Sikh state `Khalistan' . The Akali Government led by Barnala sent the army into Sri Harmandir Sahib resulting in hundreds of arrests including that of the acting Jathadar of Sri Akal Takhat Sahib Bhai Gurdev Singh Kaonke. The Panthic Committee elected Baba Manochahal to replace Bhai Koanke as Jathadar. As Jathadar Baba Manochahal stood firm on the demand for Khalistan and kept the high traditions and morals of Akali Phula Singh Ji.

In order to quicken the struggle for Khalistan Baba Manochahal founded the Bhindranwala Tiger force of Khalistan (BTFK) which in a very short time spread its operations throughout Punjab, Delhi and other surrounding states.

Baba Manochahal had many encounters with the Indian police and after causing havoc he managed to escape. For instance in village Vrana he along with his companions Dr Resham Singh and Bhai Buta Singh had an encounter with the police in which they inflicted terror and death. The police commander in charge was Mohammad Izhar Alam and he had his men surround the area. The encounter lasted for 7 hours and Bhai Buta Singh received martyrdom but Baba Manochahal along with Dr Resham Singh managed to escape.

The Indian Government once again attacked the Darbar Sahib in operation Black Thunder in which many of Baba Manochahal's companions received martyrdom including Lt General Bhai Surjit Singh Penta and Lt General Bhai Karj Singh Thanda

    .

Baba Manochahal's greatest encounter with the police was in village Rotal which lasted 56 hours. In this encounter the police, CRP and the army were involved and in the battle there was a heavy loss on the enemy. The BTF lost Lieutenant General Lakhwinder Singh and four other freedom fighters who became Shaheeds fighting for the Sikh Nation. Once again Baba Manochahal escaped from the clutches of the police.

Being unsuccessful in capturing Baba Manochahal the police turned their attention to his family. His father Atma Singh and his brother Tarlochan Singh who had deserted the army after operation Blue Star were arrested. After spending six years in jail they were released. Baba Manochahal's wife and son along with his other brothers Nirvair Singh who was working as a farmer and Ninder Singh who was working for the electricity board were arrested. The police later killed Baba Manochahal's father Atma Singh and brother Nirvair Singh in a fake encounter. The rest of the family if they have not been killed by the police are still being harassed and tortured today.

Due to Baba Manochahal's military training and his own intelligence he survived in the thick of the battle against the brahmin regime for 15 years. He stayed true to the Khalsa spirit and showed what can be achieved in a short space of time by following the teachings of the Gurus.

At the beginning of 1993 a near companion of Baba Manochahal by the name of Sukhwant Singh Warchiree was arrested by the police. Unable to bear the heavy police torture he told the police the whereabouts of Baba Manochahal's hideouts. But Baba Manochahal was able to change his hideouts before he could be found.

In the village of Bagria the police raided the house of Piara Singh. When the police were about to arrest his son Resham Singh, his mother asked the police why are you taking my son? Baba Manochahal is sitting down in the bunker. Before the police could take any action Baba Manochahal exploded a bomb and rained a spray of bullets on the police. This caused a stampede amongst the police and Baba Manochahal managed to escape. When the police broke the bunker and went inside they found a feast of ' arms and' a small wireless set which Baba Manochahal had been using to track the movement of the police.

The police surrounded all the villages nearby and carried out house to house searches. On the 28 February 1993 outside Rotal village the police raided the farmhouse of Ajit Singh where Baba Manochahal was staying.

This was Baba Manochahal's final encounter and he knew the time had come for him to become one with the Almighty. He came out fighting like a lion and was shot by police entrenched behind a tubewell.

Baba Manochahal's martyrdom was a great loss to the Sikh Nation and his martyrdom was revenged by the freedom fighters who killed five police officers near Barnala. Baba Manochahal's involvement in the Khalistan Movement inspires many a Sikh today to fight against oppression and injustice and will continue to do so. He has joined the endless list of Shaheeds, martyred in a righteous war in defence of his faith.

Wow what a great video, soo many sikh youths there, its like a sea of orange.

how come no one talks about the struggle everyone should watch these videos its shows that loads of sikhs supported the struggle for khalistan. I decided to look on the net for articles related to Sarbat Khalsa and found these.

I cant believe seeing Baba Thakur Singh ji in the video must have been amazing times for the sangat, so many chardi kala gursikhs there, wonder how many of them became shaheed.

What others Gurmatas were passed at the Sarbat Khalsa

We should have a national day to remember this Historical Event

    Sikh Democratic Sovereignty

Sri Akal Takhat Sahib, the first Takhat of the Sikh Panth, is a sovereign seat and a symbol of freedom. The word ‘Takhat’ literally means ‘the Royal Throne’. Its function is to preserve and protect the religious traditions of the Sikh Panth (nation).

The foundation of Sri Akal Takhat Sahib was laid down 400 years ago by Sri Guru Hargobind Ji, the sixth Guru, in 1606 in front of Sri Harmandir Sahib (Golden Temple) in Amritsar. The five storey building was completed in 1609. Sri Guru Hargobind Ji instructed that no hired labour was to be used in building Sri Akal Takhat Sahib as it was the ‘Court of God’.

Guru Ji reaffirmed that if they were to continue their existence, Sikhs had to become saint-soldiers. He himself wore two Kirpans, one symbolizing ‘Piri (spiritual power) and the other ’Miri’ (political power) and instructed Sikhs to donate horses and arms instead of other offerings. Guru Ji formed an army to fight the tyranny and oppression. Sikhs were ordered to be fully armed to defend the downtrodden, oppressed and themselves. This was a continuation of the path enshrined by Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji. Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji in Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji states:

“It is the privilege and right of the true men to fight for and die for righteousness’’.

In addition, Sri Guru Hargobind Ji instigated the ‘nagara’ (drum) and ‘Nishan Sahib’ (Sikh flag). The nagara signifies the freedom of the people to declare their faith publicly and was used to proclaim the Sikh principle of sharing with others as it was used to call people to ‘Guru Ka Langar’ (free kitchen). The Nishan Sahib has on it the ‘Khanda’, the Sikh insignia. It was first raised at Sri Akal Takhat Sahib in 1608 by Sri Guru Hargobind Ji.

By situating Sri Akal Takhat Sahib opposite to the entrance to Sri Harmandir Sahib Guru Ji demonstrated that, in his temporal affairs, man should not forget religion and its true purpose of love, equality and justice.

Equally religion must not abandon society but endure sacrifice to establish justice and equality. Guru Ji formally established the principal that temporal power or political power, symbolized by Sri Akal Takhat Sahib, is needed to safeguard the sanctity of religion and uphold religious values in guiding the Sikh community through upheaval and crisis; to seek justice and also to provide justice to the subjugated and downtrodden. Sri Akal Takhat Sahib is a court to settle disputes between Sikhs and provide leadership through democratic principles to Sikhs through a sovereign court which cannot be subjugated by any government or group. It is at Sri Akal Takhat Sahib that Sikhs gather in Sarbat Khalsa, an democratic system established before the West even granted voting rights to the common citizen. It is by way of the Sarbat Khalsa that Panthic issues are discussed and resolutions affecting the Sikh nation agreed.

    Sarbat Khalsa

Sarbat Khalsa means a communal assembly of the Sikh people- representing a people’s democratic referendum or general assembly. It is a theo-political doctrine by which the Sikhs assume powers and will of the Sikh people and issue Gurmatas (edicts or resolutions binding to all Sikhs) and appoint jathas/jathedars to steer the nation at times of adversity.

Sarbat Khalsa was first used for the gathering of Sikhs on the days of Diwali and Vaisakhi at the Sri Akal Takhat Sahib. Sarbat Khalsa would discuss questions of Panthic interest and importance at such gatherings and Gurmatas evolving out of the consensus of such meetings were announced. The Sarbat Khalsa made many important decisions which changed the history of Punjab, for example, forming Dal Khalsa (1748) attacking Lahore (1760).

After Operation Bluestar in 1984 and assault and extensive damage to Sri Akal Takhat Sahib, the government of India tried to sway the Sikhs by organising a state-sponsored Sarbat Khalsa on August 11 1984, presided by Santa Singh Nihang. This ‘Sarbat Khalsa’ gave Buta Singh & Darbara Singh (government favorites) approval to rebuild Sri Akal Takhat Sahib under the supervision of state appointed contractors and 150 or so Nihang Kar Sewaks. Despite use of state logistics, transport, influence and finance, apart from Indian state patrons, some anti-panthic Nihangs and peasants brought in on government transport for a free outing in Amritsar, they could not attract attendance by Sikh masses. The power and prestige of Sarbat Khalsa had been compromised by Santa Singh for Government patronage, for which he later apologized to the panth at Sri Akal Takhat Sahib.

In response the Head Granthis of Sri Harimandir Sahib summoned a legitimate Sikh Sarbat Khalsa on September 1 and 2 1984. Despite government efforts to abort and disrupt this Sarbat Khalsa and threat to the lives of the attendees, the attendance was more than double the Santa-Government Sarbat Khalsa a month earlier. President Zail Singh, Buta Singh and Santa Singh were declared tankhaaias (offenders) and the Sarbat Khalsa announced that if the Indian army did not clear out of the Golden Temple complex by October 1 martyr squads would move in to occupy it. On September 25 1984 the government announced the army would be withdrawn.

A further Sarbat Khalsa on January 26 1986 was to prove even more historic. Despite every government effort to interrupt the gathering and outlaw attendees, this people’s referendum and democratic assembly was attended by over 500,000 Sikhs of broad backgrounds, political leanings, jathas (groups) and factions. The Sarbat Khalsa unanimously declared Khalistan from the site of Sri Akal Takat Sahib and hoisted the flag of Khalistan. They demolished the state-built Sri Akal Takhat Sahib and set about re-building the structure through kar sewa (Sikh practice of constructing historical buildings through voluntary efforts). The 1986 Sarbat Khalsa passed many Gurmatas and established the Panthic Committee and the army of Khalistan the Khalistan Commando Force (KCF) to steer the Sikh nation forward.

    got this email :(

    5th December 2010.

It’s been one year since Ludhiana Incident where police fired on protesting Sikhs, killing 5 and injuring more than 15 Singhs. We have come a long way since then; so many things have changed in Punjab, in lives of people who were there in protest and those who jumped in to stand with their brothers in every possible way.

We know about the sacrifices Singhs have made since times of Guru Arjan Dev ji, in 18th and 19th centuries, in 1947 and period of 1984-1994, and Ludhiana incident was one more step on this path. It was here that in this age, we had a handful of Sikh brothers going to stop a programme by a self styled Guru, Ashutosh noormehlia who abused Sikhs in his discourses, who distorted Gurbaani and history to show that HE was the real Guru and Sikhs were fools who were bowing to a book. HE was the one who claimed to be Incarnation of Guru Gobind Singh ji as he too was born in Patna, Bihar. He was the one who said that one day he will fill the Amrit sarovar of Darbar Sahib, bring down Harimandir sahib and Akaal Takhat Sahib and sow paddy on that land, to feed his Bihari Bhaiyas.

This Guru Nindak, with active support of Akali politicians, RSS, BJP and other right wing Hindu outfits held his programme in heart of Punjab, challenging Sikh nation. A handful of my brothers came forward to stop this pervert from going ahead. As they moved to stop this Guru-Nindak, they were shot at by Punjab police near Samrala chowk, Ludhiana, where 5 singhs attained Shaheedi and 15 got injured. There was an international outcry from Sikh community, with calls and shouts of shaheediya sounding all over Internet and TV and radio stations in foreign countries. As Sants and Jathedars leading the Singhs that day sat all night on GT road, bodies of 4 dead Singhs were secretly cremated, but the body of One who had been captured ‘Dying on-camera’, Bapu Darshan Singh was handed over to his family, who signed papers given by Punjab Police. As the Panth waited for the body, Police secretly planned to take the body to Lohara village, and the Sants, with no option left, had to go with police to Lohara village to cremate the body of Singh. Injured were taken to hospitals, their videos made with their complete identity revealed in Videos and were given some money by some Sants and Jathebandis and discharged. Ashutosh’s programme was cancelled and life moved on as usual. Everything became normal within days.

Not for everyone. For some it changed for good and for some it changed to bad.

    * Baba Darshan Singh’s son took 20 lakh rupees from Punjab Government and joined same Punjab Police which shot dead his Father.

    * All the leaders and Sants who led the Sangat that day went back to their normal routine of Katha Kirtan and loud talking, doing nothing for justice to blood of martyrs.

    * Ashutosh and his Chele roam freely in India, luring innocent Sikhs in their traps. He has a Nihang Jatha named ‘Tarna Dal Noormehl’ and a group of RSS brainwashed Keshadhari Sikhs who call themselves ‘Tatt Khalsa’.

    * BJP MLA Harish bedi, who fired first shot from his pistol continues to live in Ludhiana and his son, chela of Ashutosh who was with his father that day, lives in Australia, safely, without any fear of law or anyone else. They know Sikhs have forgotten them……(they know there’s no Bhindranwala now in the field who’ll remember name of each and every Dusht and punish him for his misdeeds)

Various so-called Panthic jathebandis roam around in Punjab, pointing fingers at Badal, RSS and at each other, giving big statements in Newspapers and TV channels, but doing nothing for people who were really affected by this Incident.

Who was affected? Leaders? Sant babey? Akalis? Jathebandis? NO.

Affected was conscience of Living Sikhs. Affected were the lives of Sikhs who felt the pain of Guru’s honour and blood of martyrs in their hearts, who took upon themselves of not letting the blood of martyrs go waste, and keep this flame burning.

As life goes on as usual for other people, my brothers who stood for Guru that day, took bullets and lathis of Police, shed their blood stand forgotten by this Sikh nation, rot today in jails of tyrannical Indian government. Shaheed Bapu Darshan Singh stands forgotten in his very own land. No one even tried to get names of other Shaheed Singhs, we just know that one Singh was from Ludhiana and other one had come from Kanpur to visit relatives. No one knows name or cities of other Singhs. Those who tried to help those singhs with Money and other things are been tracked by agencies of Indian government. Those who wrote for them, brought out the truth in front of world were tracked, arrested and tortured to the extent that they had to flee Punjab and India. Those couple of Singhs who tried to take the revenge in their own way were arrested and brutally tortured, leaving them helpless and handicapped for life.

Our leaders did only that much they were ordered to do. Media gave out only that much they were supposed to do. We heard what Government wanted us to hear and we saw just what they wanted us to see, but we never tried to reach to the depth of the things. As I see helpless Sikh youth burning in fire of revenge, but no one to guide them or lead them, as I see Babas and Sants and fake missionaries flooding villages and cities of Punjab, dividing Panth in hundreds of parts, as I see gutless ,spineless leaders, who haven’t done anything good for betterment of Panth in last 26 years, boasting on TV and newspapers, as I read everyday how 2-3 singhs are arrested in Punjab and jailed for 2-3 years, my heart sinks. Why is this happening to my Panth? Why my brothers are being tortured and beaten up in jails? Why are their lives and lives of their families being ruined? Aren’t we Sikhs humans? Don’t we have feelings, emotions, rights, right to breathe in freedom? Don’t we wish our Guru, our Martyrs and traditions to be respected?

Then why is nothing happening? Why isnt’ God being merciful on us? Why isn’t Guru Gobind Singh ji Maharaj sending his ‘Banda’ again? Why is it just we Sikhs, whose Guru was burnt, Akaal Takhat was destroyed, brothers killed and sisters raped, who have to face this pain and suffering. Living in slavery is suffocating, seeing Guru and Maryada and Shaheeds being dishonoured is really painful but I can’t do anything. I’m helpless. If I wrote, my own people tried to stop me. Walking on this path, to serve my Panth and help my brothers, my own people left me alone, labelling my actions as that of one with ‘ulterior motives’. As the Babey enjoy luxuries of their AC rooms and AC cars, as fake leaders (I call all leaders in punjab and abroad fake, who use Santji;s name to collect money, property and fame, but are doing nothing to take ahead his mission, to fulfill the dream of thousands of Shaheed Singhs and to get justice for dishonored sisters and butchered brothers) continue to hog the limelight, as divisive forces continue their task of dividing and bringing down Panth, I look helplessly, sometimes gazing at skies, sometimes going to Gurudwara sahib and looking at Maharaj for answers. I still haven’t got any answer, and I don’t know if I will get one but till that day comes, many Darshan Singhs will have to die thirsty on streets of Ludhiana. You’ll ask why thirsty?

Ludhiana has a Sikh population of around 250,000, out of which only 300 came to stand up for Guru, other 400 Sikh youth were from different villages. And as Singhs were getting beaten up, shot at, crying with pain on roads, Sikh householders living nearby closed their doors. Singhs went from house to house, banging doors so that these injured Singhs could be given water, but no one came ahead. It was then a Singh forced open a shop, took out a bottle and brought water for Bapu, but till then he had gone to Land of Preetam, Guru Gobind Singh ji.

It pains and it hurts. I really don’t know what I have written ….. But whatever it is….forgive me. I'll keep on writing The Truth, whether someone likes or not.

    Kamle nu maaf karyo.

  9. Candle Light Vigil For The Victims of 1984

    Candle Light Vigil 2010

    Wednesday 3rd November 2010

    16:00 – 19:00

Chamberlain Square (outside the central library) Birmingham, UK

26 years ago this month the largest democracy in the world, predicted to soon become a world superpower partook in nationwide slaughter and terror of one if it’s most loyal minority groups - the Sikhs.

Thousands of Sikhs were set alight, raped, terrorised and hunted down in a state organised massacre. Yet to this day only a handful of people have ever been tried for these crimes and the main orchestrators of the massacres not only walk free but have been rewarded for their brutal actions through political power and prestige.

For the Sikhs lucky enough to survive the 1984 massacre, the memories and scars are as fresh as if the horrific events occurred yesterday. Many – living in gross poverty want little else than justice. Yet it is the one things that seems to elude them the most.

The Sikh youth of the UK will congregate at Chamberlain Square in Birmingham City Centre on Wednesday 3rd November from 4pm to 7pm. A collective effort will be made to highlight the injustice and suffering endured by the Sikhs in their so-called “homeland.”

Let us show them that we have not forgotten their pain.

Let us get together and show the world that these massacres cannot be forgotten.

See you there and please do spread the word.Get family and friends to attend.

Anyone wanting to help out please email the organisers

    Thank you

I really loved the way your whole expereience at the Camp revolved around Guroo Granth Sahib Jee...the Hukamnama vichar's everyday were amazing..they really gave one a sense that Guroo is in-fact talking to me alone and is answering all my questions...Amazing. It made one think of the importance of having a relationship with Guroo Jee and that it is only Guroo Jee that will be with you forever.

i spoke to many sehajdhari Sikhs and the amount they had changed from when they first walked into the Camp was amazing, they said they'd always heard about the greatness of Sikhi but it all seemed so ritualistic but now they had experienced it first hand and the Camp had changed them forever.

I pray to Guroo Jee that i can live up to the standards set by Sikhi Camp

All i can do is bow my head before the Gursikhs that organised such an amazing Camp and i pray to Guroo Jee that they keep on doing such a great seva.

The Count Down, to sikhi camp begins. . . .Not Long left Folks. . . .
