  1. .:Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Vaheguru Ji Ki Fateh:.

I didn't see the show but I have heard Parv Bancil on the radio during the Behzti fiasco. Often he was the only one defending the protesters and questioned Bhatti's motives for making the play. He did not portray himself as a representative of the Sikh community, but he was definatley on our side and not on theirs.

He was in a similar position to Bhatti in 1996 when he made a controversial play called the Ungrateful Dead which dealt with gang culture in Southall. He learned his lesson and realised his mistake unlike Bhatti unfortunatley.

Nanavati Comm sees a 'pattern' in 1984 Sikh riots

    Sunday, January 2 2005 10:06 Hrs

New Delhi : The Justice Nanavati Commission, inquiring into the 1984 Sikh riots, which is preparing to submit its report to the Union Home Ministry, sees a "pattern" behind the attacks on Sikhs.

"The evidence does indicate a pattern in which the riots took place and the pattern in which the attacks took place on the Sikhs," Justice G T Nanavati said refusing to elaborate on the merits of the evidence taken into consideration by it.

"All the evidence has been scrutinised and the report will be submitted to the Home Ministry with recommendations positively by January 31," he said.

Also AmaN Bhaji/Benji it might be a good idea for you to stop advertising this event on your website. :TH:

If any one is going to this talk (if it's not banned) could you please record it for the others?

    This is taken from GlobalSecurity.org

In 2002 the Indian Army had 980,000 active troops, along with an Army Reserve consisting of: 300,000 first line troops (those within five years of full time service), and another 500,000 second line troops (subject to recall to service until 50 years of age). The Territorial Army numbered 40,000 first line troops (and 160,000 second line troops). In 1994 the army had approximately 940,000 men and women on active duty, and another 36,000 in the Territorial Army. As of 1998 the Army had a sanctioned troop strength of 1,045,000, but there was a shortage of about 59,000 troops.
