I hope Badal does not get in. With his previous BJP allies in control at the centre he failed to do anything for Punjab so can you imagine what will happen with a Congress central sarkar.

Also I visited Punjab about a year before Badal lost the last elections and can remember how people were totally fed up with him. I even met some distant relatives who were members of the Badal Dal and even they were saying at the time that Badal would never be CM again as he had seriously mucked up.

One thing that will be good to see if Badal gets in is how he treats Captain. Badal has said that he will order raids etc against Captain in revenge for Captains campaign against Badal. Only thing is (although Captain has never himself made an issue of it) that Captains forefathers have a signed Hukumnama from Guru Gobind Singh Ji Mahraj which states "....Your house is my refuge....". Check past threads and you will see I have said on more than one occasion that the only way to move forward on this is for Bheva to go to Canada. But as I would expect you and other Bheva chela have been saying for 2 years that he will go to Canada without any such tour materialising.

Brilliant statement but you forgot one thing, a Sant is meant to be one with Waheguru etc, as such should Bheva not be setting an example by following Hukumnama (issued by Panj Singh and we all know the significance of Panj Singh in Sikhi issuing a Hukum), rather than following Hukums he likes willy-nilly on the basis that Gravesend Gurdwara do something wrong so I must do mega violation of Hukumnama by undertaking 1313 Akhand Path. Shaheed Baba Jarnail Singh Ji exhibited the facets of a Saint Sipahi. Which of these facets has Bheva exhibited ? Shaheed Baba Jarnail Singh Ji took pride in keeping fit which is an important part of Sikhi and was taught to the Panth by great Guru Ji like Guru Hargobind Ji, he educated the youth and drew attention to problems faced by Punjabis such as the water crisis, he led by example and was not scared to speak against the government, he was never interested in foreign tours as there are 1bn people to preach to in India. I do not see Bheva following the exemplary example set by the likes of Shaheed Baba Jarnail Singh Ji. For more than 20 years Bheva ignored the Shaheed parivaars and then when the going got a bit sticky for him he kindly donated 30lakh rupees (or somewhere in that region) to stop people questioning what he had done for the shaheed parivar (incidently this donation which made known to everyone by the dera publicity machine namely the likes of worldofbig-ego.

We all know what side the bread is buttered on with Bheva and no matter what b/s you, and your band of dera followers write the writing is on the board and clear for all to see.

1. H4rinde, do you accept the Akaal Takht hukamnama when it says there should not be multiple Akhand Paaths?

2. When it says ok to Mahaparsaad (meat)?

3. When it says no to joats and naarreals?

4. When it says no to Dharna?

Those decisions were made by Panth and before badal influence.

...I think the chele forget about these small matters when they deceided to do PR about the rather vague press release which they were trying to pass off as a decision of the Akal Takht. Little did they know or understand about the parampara of the Akal Takht and how real decisions are made.

Have some sharam. He has not been cleared by the Akal Takht. He has been cleared by Vedanti and co. It does not take a genius to see what Vedantis background is and the backhanders he has taken in the past to clear people. Dhanwant the child rapist being a case in point, then there was the Sunny Deol film which he cleared after his cousin and others were given VIP treatment by the producers (including P Chadha who owns most the sharab teyke in Punjab).

What Jathedar Nandagarh and co are saying differs greatly to what you and houseofhuge-ego is writing. Telephone him and ask him why his statements and others differ.

The PS2 used to have dodgy drives so I would not buy one off ebay. I would be inclined to get it in India, the retail boxes are same as in UK and they will not notice the difference. Maybe they think you will get them one of those cheapo Chinese consoles that have a hundred games or so on them.

I have in the past bought items in India, put them in a Sainsburys or ASDA carrier bag and handed them to relatives. They thought what they had was from UK and were very pleased. I was also pleased as I saved a bit of money and managed to take things from the UK for my own house which I could not buy in India (eg a Stanley Claw Hammer).

Some foreign things are better, for example hammer drills in the UK even the cheap ones are pretty decent compared to ones you get in India (nice metal body and not earthed so you can be electrocuted whilst doing some DIY). Even rawplugs are better in the UK.

I would just buy it over there. A brand new slim line modded one in Delhi (should be similar price in Punjab) could be had for between 6500 and 7000RS which is pretty cheap. I think an unmodded one in UK costs close to £100. They all come from the same factory but as with most things apne bande think foreign is better.

If you are going to buy in UK then have a look at the deal Argos are currently doing with Buzz and Singstar and a black PS2 for £99. Add a battery or something cheap and your total will be over £100 and they will give you a £10 voucher. So a console and a few bits and pieves for about £90. Avoid the Harry Potter and extra controller deal, you can buy both these items for less than £20. The Singstar and Buzz thing is worth about £40 on ebay.

Xbox (not 360 but original) or PS2. Both can be modded easily. Thinking about you can pick up a modded PS2 or Xbox for about the same price it costs for a unmodded one in the UK plus you have the bonus of a warranty and you do not get hasled by customs in India who will pretend you have imported a super computer just to try and get some cash out of you.

You can fill your boots with "backed" up games (which of cause you will destroy if you do not own the original) for both the Xbox and the PS2. Out the two I prefer the Xbox because you can do more with it (add a new HDD and install Xbox Media Centre etc etc). Games are about 75RS each from Palika Bazar not sure how much they are in Punjab.

Avoid a fancy new 360 or Nintendo Wii. Not many "backed" up games for the 360 in India, not even in Palika Bazaar (Delhi), so the kids will have to go without games.

if you send any console make sure you send a surge adapter, India's electricity supply isnt the same as Britain. Xobox 360 games are really expensive in Britain so you can imagine how expensive they will be in India. PS2 is better because you can get it chipped (do it yourself kit costs ?20), that way you can play games from all around the world, and of course games that have been backed up onto a standard disk. You can usually buy back up games for about 70p each. (By back up i mean copied.) Copying a game on to another disk is not illegal as long as you have the original game :D

Surge protectors are cheaper in India. You could get a big fancy voltage stabiliser for the whole house for a few thousand rupees. Or a simple one device one for a few hundred rupees, or the really cheap one which has replaceable fuses for 50/60RS (maybe less and a couple of rupees for the fuses).

Place is full of jumped up NRIs who act like heroes (especially the lo$ers from USA & Canada who dress like extras from a basketball movie) . The food is nothing wow. I could name more than a dozen places in Jalandhar which serve more tasty food. Dont know if things have improved but the waiters used to have a habbit of hovering over you to try and make you eat quickly as they needed to serve more people. Not been there for a while and do not have any plans to go.

If you have not been and are used to eating at some $hity dhaba then you will think Haveli etc are the ultimate dhaba. But if you eat at many other places you will soon learn the food at Haveli is just average. The Rangila Punjab experience is different like the girl who brings you tray of sweets etc but the novelty soon wears off.
