Complaint Letter to Apple (Please edit if need be): contactus.uk@euro.apple.com
I am writing this letter of complaint to criticize the extremely offensive material published on the Apple Store, which has offended myself and the Sikh community. The application which has published this offensive material is 'Sikhism and Islam' by 'Pearl Productions UK.'
The application is used to bring doubt into the reader of the application as well as this, the application or publishers of the application degrade the Sikhism religion by suggesting Sikhism is part of the Islamic faith. The language used in this application is false propaganda to portray the message to the reader that our Sikh Guru (teacher/spiritual leader) was a Muslim or had interest in Islam.
As Sikhs we have no hate against any religion. However the Sikh religion has been attacked in the past and is currently being attacked by many extremists such as Muslims that publish false material that Sikhism is a religion born from the Hindu religion - as the material in the application states: 'Some consider it (Sikhism religion) as an off shoot of Hinduism.'
As well as this, extremists have also tried to attack the Sikh religion in the past and are using the same propaganda now that our Sikh Guru (Guru Nanak Dev Jee) was a Muslim because he visited 'Mecca.' Such extremists try to create this trap to encourage Sikhs to convert to Muslim because the Sikh Guru was also a ''Muslim.'' When in actual fact this is totally false misleading propaganda. The evidence in this application shows the publishers using this false propaganda by stating in the app: 'Guru Nanak was born in a Kshatriya (warrior caste) Hindu family but was very strongly influenced by Islam and Muslims.'
I will now state the facts how Sikhism has not even one single inch of similarity to the religion of Hinduism and Islam:
The identity of a Sikh is a turban and beard and a Sikh who obeys and follows the Holy Scriptures of Sri Guru Granth Sahib (Sikh Holy Guru).
The identity of a Hindu is:
- Topi (hat)
- Tuft of hair
- The 12 Tilaks (red marks) on the forehead, nose, chin, chest arms, ears and a cotton Janeu.
- A person who is a worshipper of Shivling and a reader of the Geeta (Hindu Holy Book)
- One who never touches tobacco
A Muslim:
- Only with scissors and a razor a person can be called a Muslim (as Muslims are circumcised using the scissors and/or razor)
Therefore the above evidence clearly separates Sikhism religion from Hinduism and Islam as our identity is completely different and unique.
Sikh scriptures in the Sri Guru Granth Sahib (Sikh Holy Guru) clearly state: 'In the world, Nanak (Guru Nanak) established the authority and revealed the new path, without impurity' This evidence suggests that if a Sikhs identity and the Scriptures that a Sikh worships are different from the Hindu Scriptures and the Muslim Quran - how can one consider the Sikh religion to be similar or an off-shoot to the Hindu religion. How can the publishers of this application state that Guru Nanak (The Sikh Guru) was 'very strongly influenced by Islam and Muslims.' If Guru Nanak was strongly influenced by Islam and Muslims then what was the need for Guru Nanak to create a 'NEW PATH, WITHOUT IMPURITY.'
If Guru Nanak was 'very strongly influenced by Islam and Muslims' then why has Guru Nanak stated in the Guru Granth Sahib (Sikh Holy Scriptures) 'I am not a Hindu, nor am I a Muslim' (Ang / Page 1136)).
Furthermore evidence suggests that Guru Nanak goes onto state in the Guru Granth Sahib (Sikh Holy Scriptures) 'I do not perform Hindu worship services, nor do I offer the Muslim prayers' (Ang / Page 1136 of Sri Guru Granth Sahib (Holy Scriptures of the Sikhs).
So from such evidence who in there right mind can state 'Some consider it (Sikhism religion) as an off shoot of Hinduism.' Who in there twisted mind can even think that 'Guru Nanak was born in a Kshatriya (warrior caste) Hindu family BUT was very strongly influenced by Islam and Muslims.'
If Guru Nanak was 'strongly influenced by Islam and Muslims' then why was the need for our Guru Nanak to create a 'NEW PATH, WITHOUT IMPURITY (of other religions)'? If Guru Nanak was influenced by Islam and Muslims then why would he state 'I do not perform Hindu worship services, nor do I offer the Muslim prayers' (Ang / Page 1136 of Sri Guru Granth Sahib (Holy Scriptures of the Sikhs).
It is evident that the Quran (Islamic Book) has been sugar-coated. In other words the translation of the Quran has been translated in many different forms to attract people to follow the way of Islam through persuasive language and false stories as well as false propaganda. This evidence has been presented by Usama Dakdok:
''Usama Dakdok, founder of The Straight Way of Grace Ministry, was born in Egypt and raised in a Christian home as the son of a Baptist pastor, where he accepted Jesus at the age of 11. But despite his background, he was forced to learn the Quran in school.
''After becoming a U.S. citizen in the 1990s, Dakdok felt called to bring Muslims to Christ and teach Americans the truth about the Quran. But he shares that every English translation he purchased at that time was misleading.
"They have sugar-coated the Quran so badly -- taking words out, twisting words, and putting them in wrong places," he laments.'' (One News Now, 2010)
Surprisingly as you open this application it explains false facts about Sikhism (as stated above) and then ironically when you click on the 'more' link, the option leads the reader to 'Do you want to enter Islam?' This evidence proves once again this app is a false propaganda to try and deceive readers and bring doubt into there minds so the reader starts to think 'oh Guru Nanak was strongly influenced by Muslims...' so such readers will convert to a religion whose Quran has been sugar-
coated to make it more appealing to the eye as well as it's false facts which degrade other religions such as Sikhism.
Myself and the Sikh community find it extremely disrespectful that a professional organisation like Apple could allow such a blasphemous act to be published against our Sikh religion and consider this a means of religious hatred.
We urge you to remove this application ASAP to avoid any further legal action.
Kind regards
