  1. i live in luton, but have gone 2 southall since i was a kid, but can some 1 tell me WAT was the point in building the Havelock RD gurdwara, when there was already the park avenue one? also arent both of them named as singh sabha? plus it wud b sad 2 see it going, wat wud they build instead of it? they shud build sum sort of sikh museum/memorial or sikhi related centre, seeing as sikhs RUN and OWN southall for ages and will continue to.

  2. The Wolverhampton MP was Rob Marris he did more for the Sikhs than any of of the apnay MP's. He was part of the parliamentary group and in 2009 they had a private viewing of the film "Widows Colony" in the House of Commons. It was attended by MP's, directors of the film and Manoj Mitta who co-authored Phoolka's book and in fact Manoj Mitta is the one who exposed the hand of Kamal Nath in the Delhi massacres. It was a result of this viewing that Rob Marris wrote to the foreign ministry and got murderer Jagdish Tytler's visa revoked for entry to the UK. To this day he is still getting emails from Tytler questioning what personal grudge he has against him.

Unfortunately, our gifted gurdwara pardhans from Wolverhampton refused to support him in the elections and decided to throw their weight to Tory Mr Paul Uppal. Who coincidentally is the son of the owner of Guru Tegh Bahadur Gurdwara and is a close friend of the committe of the other biggest gurdwara in Wolverhampton.

This is our main problem, we are very shortsighted and elect those people who will help us on our small domestic issues and not those people who will help us on the panthic issues.

thats gud, never heard of Rob Marris, seems like a trick our idiotic ppl missed, also regarding the MP i was talking about, its definitely Pat McFadden, he was on sikh channel few weeks ago too. Wat Rob Marris did regarding Jagdish Tytler was comendable, to say the least. But sayin that i dont mind if our enemies come 2 england on holiday from india, its a PERFECT opportunity for an assasination!

  3. About time. I wondered when someone was going to highlight this issue.

The funny thing is I was reading the Dorling Kindersley 'History' encyclopedia and in the chapter on The Mughals it said Babar was a tolerant emperor who allowed people of other faiths to live in peace in India.

I thought "<banned word filter activated>?". I'm getting in touch with the joker who wrote that chapter. That's a blatant lie.

LOL init, it was emporor akbar who a truely secular ruler, like maharaja Ranjit Singh, if im not mistaken, he was the one who granted sikhs the space 2 build a holy site (which is now harmandir sahib, Amritsar)

  4. TO ALL SIKHSANGAT users, especially the english ones, can someone please inject sum reality to this "Humkire" bandah! i honestly cannot believe this person is tryin tell me about "humility" when he's accusing me of, if im not mistaken, "a Gora mindset", TEL ME where is your humility/ego control! YOU humkire r a joke, straight up, to start an argument about how upset u r, because i called u "mate". Look my friend first off all i aint middle class like quite a few sikhs nowadays, we r not all frm rich areas/families, sum of us r from workin class families and actually talk street level and talk the local slang. If ur gettin offended by the word "MATE", then its jus laughable, pappu syndrome is well under swing here. DAMN

oh n by the way, if ur insinuating that im sum gorah coconut, there u r very much mistaken, ive learned a lot of our history, speak decent panjabi, im NOT as spiritualy connected like u seem 2 b, but that dont make me inferior. Whether or not u liteally said im not barabar(equal) to u, u r givin that impression. personally i have NEVER not heard sikhs/pakistanis/bangalis/blacks say "mate", everyone friggin does, its part of the linguo. oh n the fathers day comment u made is soooooo soppy, its jus funny.

why dont u try typing in the word "MATE" into the search engine above, n see how many times ppl use that word on this forum, u ARE definitly makin a prat out of yourself, BIG TIME!

CAN SOMEONE PLEASE TALK SENSE TO THIS GUY! coz 'meri mathh mari gaye iss bandeh de naal'. ALSO THANKS for ruining this thread which was about bhai gurdas ji

  5. I don't know about Canada, but in UK, the pro Table/chair brigade are there making a far deeper statement... (it has pretty much nothing to do with tables and chairs)

Since 1984 these people are sympathisers of Congress and Dehli takht.. their underlying message is quite simple:- we Do not accept Akal Thakt.

    Check this for yourselves..

how many of them have pro-actively supported Rajoana Campaign?

how many of their committee members have flags outside their homes?

How many 1978-> Shaheed Singhs Photos do you see?

How many 1978-> Shaheed programs do you see them at?

eg. Ramgarhia Southall committee are harden congressi's.. I am not going to turn this into a Caste debate as there are 1000's of Gursikh's from Ramgarhia backgrounds doing amazing sewa for the panth.

The fact is, the old boys who control the Gurdwaras, especially the patriotic indians from kenya are stubborn congressis.

Ask them if they accept Akal Takht.. they will say no.

Indian constitution says Sikhs are Hindus, They will agree Sikh derived from Hindus, hence Ramgahria Southall's photos of vishkarma, their "khanda" with vishkarmas hand in the middle..

Tables & chairs is their way of protesting to say, We do not accept Akal Thakt, we accept delhi takht

wow i knew it! ive only heard bowt ramgharia gurdwaras havin chairs/tables, but u have seem 2 have confirmed my initial thought, i jus didnt wana get ppl on my back sayin im caste obsessed . . blah blah.

but i dont understand y ramgharias (the bum-lickin committees i mean) seem to be pro india (if this is true). if im not mistaken, but wasnt it ramgharias who first started callin der gurdwaras with their tribal name attatched to it? Cannot believe r ppl have taken it one step further than caste obsessed muslims (trust me the pakistanis r as bad as we r) and the caste obsessed hindus too. there was a time when the house of guru nanak/gobind singh (gurdwara) was the ONLY place where "low caste" hindus/muslims wud go 2 feel barabar/equal, disgustin r ppl r!

  6. RebelSingh Ji Valeythia.

I know very well that in england calling each other mate is a mark of respect. Something the americans don't undertsand here or other people in other parts of the world.

I have travelled and lived all over mate!! I was born and raised there in UK, now i'm on the west pacific in North America and I fully undertsand your intention.

BUT, it is more acceptable since we are on this forum to use names that we are all familiar with.

In this sense as we are all supposed to be sikhs, then we should use Veerji,Bhenji or Paaji. or simply just the person's name with a 'Ji' on the end- like Rebel ji.

So please accustom yourselves to doing this in a respectful manner and stop this gora talk of matey mate dude!!!!

    ok mate

    Ji

  7. ''right i dont think u understand wat im sayin mate,''

    RebelSingh jee

In Sikhi we dont call each other ''mate!''. This is a Sikh youth forum and we are better off addressing each other as veerjee and bhenjee which sounds so much more loving and sweet! We need to watch how we address and talk to each other because a lot of people visit this forum everyday as a sikh....sangat website and we have to set good examples of how Sikhs talk to each other in our bhai-chara.

Secondly, never ever read half a sentence and be quick to assume that others do not understand you. Humility wants you to remember that others appreciate what you say and are better than you in understanding you. That is a lekhn of nimarta. I remember after I had performed a kirtan session and then we were all sitting together for Guru ka langar. One mother complained to me about her 15 year son liking video games etc. I tried to explain that as long as he was doing some studies, his swimming , etc etc, a few video games is quite a thing that young males like. This young boy was not some amritdharee Sikh yet but in his humility he said one very beautiful thing to his mother when he said …mom Gyanijee is right, he understands me better than I do myself! What nimarta from a young boy.

As I said Guru jee is the epitome of love and hope. All those who surrender to, love, obey and follow Gurujee have got nothing to fear in the worst or best of times. This is the simple but profound message of Sikhi. These Sikhis exist not to scare us but to make us want to be dead close to Gurujee and to Gurmat.

    Sorry MATE

first of all i dont kno wat ur going on about, we r from england, in england we call each other mate, its called being polite, so thats ur fail MATE, not mine. 2nd of all, im not gona come on this site n brownnose any1, not u or the mods.

BTW(By The Way), wen all the english sikhs on here read ur comment, they r gonna laugh u into the ground

  8. Cyanide pills were available to all kharkus. Those who got caught by ravan sena preferd to die this way, lest they be tortured by police and let something out whoch would endanger other Sikhs. So i totally understand their actions.

In 1988 in OP Black Thunder at Sri DarbarSahib, Bhai Kaarj Singh Thande took a cyanide pill rather than give himself up to the ravan sena. Others chose to walk out with their hands up....

yea i thort so, cheers bro, kinda similar 2 chandrashekar azad, who rather than let the british take him alive, he either took a pill or shot himself, (cant remember)

  9. Almost certain it isnt Bhai Gurdas Ji, but another Sikh. Notice how all the dates are from March 13 , 2012 onwards...... Heard this Sakhi many time before, but almost 99% sure it wasnt Bhai Gurdas Ji.

3rd link is posted on sep 10th 2010

  10. In that case don't you think those who have stayed the course in this day and age will be looked upon as great Sikhs because they've done the right things during even these crazy times?

yes but how many of them sikhs r there? 2% 3%? bhai gurdas was a legend, yet became a bear, how many bhai gurdas ji's r there in 2012?

Plus more precisely im sayin dirty human beings like me! We all kno for a fact that most of us have a long long way to go, some of us just aint scared 2 admit it

  11. RebelSingh Jee,

That Bhai Gurdas sakhi should inspire you not create a slight worry. Try to figure out why, if not me or someone else could give a full length reply.

And the story is set in the context of Killa making a sensible point that no one should be denied access to Gurujee if their approach is sincere and that we need to make arrangements to accomodate and facilitate such access. This is a valid point.

This is not to be interpreted to mean we are all in a hopeless situation. Sikhi gives birth to hope because Guru is the hope of the hopeless.

right i dont think u understand wat im sayin mate, im sayin that bhai gurdas made 1 slightly selfish silly comment/action, afterall those yrs of seva service, n he becomes a bear. we all kno that in those days, the gursikhs/mona sikhs were of a better quality, yet nowadays gursikhs/mona sikhs couldnt even lace their boots, so wat will come of us? 2012 world is obsessed with sex/dirty tv/dirty fashion/horrible actions etc, its far too easy to committ sin after sin after sin!

  12. there r so many threads on this , eg - recently shere panjab thread too, close the thread mods, or atleast re-direct it 2 an older thread, these topics have been discussed 2 death. no offence 2 any1 whos posted above, especially @13mirch, but jus search for older threads, n re-open them. im not buryin my head in the sand btw, this is a SERIOUS discussion concerning us, im jus sayin its better 2 re-open older threads rather than pile up newer ones.

btw that apparant convert is probably fake too

  13. When Sikhs say let me be cut to pieces by the oppressor, but i will never leave the field of battle. This doesn't include, I'll do it myself. No where in history and any of our Guru's Granths will you find our Gurus telling us to kill ourselves by our own hand. If any "enemy" comes and does it, then we are not to be blamed and it was Sri Vaheguru Ji Maharaj Hukam.

does that mean we r not allowed 2 do suicide bombing btw? coz for the past year or so, ive defended suicide bombings done by sikhs, because the guru's have never drawn the line in methods of killing the dusht dushman (evil enemy). coz bibi satnam/wahegurus suicide bombings (8 n 6 yr olds) of indian tanks in bluestar and bhai dilawer's suicide bombing of pappi beant r two fantastic examples of suicide bombings.

also many kharkoos/militants during the 90's committed suicide via poison/syanide pills, is that wrong too in that situation? coz its rackin my brain, coz i kno sikhi is 100% against suicide, as its not in gods plan, but the kharkoos did, n no 1 bats an eyelid. kinda strange init.

    anyone?

  14. I am extremely proud that my great grandfathers, from day one,.....never pledged alliegance to nor had any tie to....India. From day one, they willingly crushed the Indian mutiny and saw the Indian as the foreigner.

    slightly off topic:

hey bro completely agree wit u, ive seen sooooooooooo many times sikhs seen as "traitors" by indians, for rejecting the chance 2 join in the mutiny. panjabi sikhs, panjabi muslims and pathans all refused 2 join in the mutiny, simply coz we were betrayed by these dirty dogra cow worshippers, and then expect us 2 side with em few yrs later, no chance.

  15. Do you know his name, Singh?

always careful not to upset the white voter - because the country is majority white - and can't be seen to be prattling on about minority causes which contradict or oppose their party line.

On a separate note I suppose Sikhs only real hope is Gurdas Mann's son. I understand he attended Eton and then went onto Oxford or Cambridge (of course). Hopefully if his father has educated him about Sikh causes, hopefully Mann Jr. has managed to cultivate some useful relationships whilst at Eton with the future movers and shakers of the world, who might be willing to consult him or even listen to his views when the time comes. :biggrin2:

If he's pro-Hindustani and in the mould of the Bombay chattering class then we've had it, lol!

khalsa ji i believe his name is pat Mcfadden, i may be wrong, jus had a quick google, i think its him.

also regarding gurdas mann's son, hopefully if anything, he will be influenced more by british sikhs who r more likely 2 voice anti-india arguments and pro khalistan too. gurdas mann maybe a proud sikh and panjabi (listening 2 his songs/interviews), but at the same time , gurdas is a bum-licker of india, remember his sarbans dhaniya ve video? at the end of a guru gobind singh related video/song, he decides 2 put up an INDIA flag!!! what bowt the nishaan sahib mate? luckily the youtube uploder cleverly edited the video and put up a nishan sahib, LOL!

  16. @WestLondonSingh

So, in conclusion then, I would say at the moment it is the Conservatives who are more our friend. However, if young Sikhs carry on with this suicide policy of rubbishing the proud links with the Army and the union jack, we will soon be left with no friend and supporter at all.

hey bro, u and i have had sum gud conversations in the past, but me and u have disagreed on the whole loyalty/british-sikh relationship etc before, and now too. i am indeed one of those who rubbishes our link with brits too.

Then should we look at getting a Sikh MP into Parliament? You've seen the likes of Baroness Warsi and the fella who was a prominent MP under Blair's regime (can't remember his name but he was from Yorkshire) and they were painfully following their relevant party policy because it was in the interests of their career and to show a united front for their respective party. I can't imagine a Sikh with the balls to question his own party will ever get far in British politics.

also i reckon minority bum-lickers like george galloway (who is THE definition of a bum-licker by the way) are the types of person who can make a/if any difference for minorities. This is a man who has dun everything from learnin bangali/islamic phrases to try and get votes in tower hamlets (E.London) with a pathetic party (green party), and actually won elections in bethnal green. He has also recenty now won the elections in bradford west (muslim majority AGAIN), ironically he defeated marsha singh!

these r the types of ppl we need, he has voiced his anger at wars on 'terror', as war on 'islam' etc, and predictably, he has won over the sullahs. after 7/7 bombings he condemned the london bombers, but said this was expected and muslims r the real victims over the world etc. open comments like that, wud please any muslim tbh.

theres a wolverhampton mp whos scottish, and has appeared on sikh channel many times, and has gone 2 panjab more times than i have!! he recently voiced his disgust over the whole rajoana/human rights case with sikhs in india, but he dusnt sadly have the appeal that galloway has.

    wat do u guys think?
