  1. To Mann group - Still want to talk about Sikh- Muslim friendship ? Still people are blaming Hindus for this . WAKE UP singho the biggest blunder we can do is by trusting muslims . We did the blunder by protecting their mosques in london riots and then we are csupporting Kashmiri radicals knowing what they did to Sikhs . Mr Mann visited the muslim relief camp after Muzzafar nagar riots and this is we get . Lets teach them lessons in punjab , let them know if toch our brothers again we will get after you very hard . Sikhs in hyderabad did right things .

  2. Delhi police have not balls to say openly against Muslims in Delhi . No doubt this police officer is Haryanvi but cant say about his caste identity there are large numbers of Minas, Gujjars and Pandat from Haryana are also employed but one thing is common that is hatred for Sikhs . One thing i never able to understand is why so much hate for Sikhs ? Our Gurdwaras are feeding thousands of poors of their community and we are not even trying to convert them like Christians , we dont target their Girls , we dont kill theirs Cow Mata .

  3. Hemmed in by securitymen in his lonely hideout, with only his cyanide capsule for company, for Rakesh Kumar, alias Ranjit Singh, alias Pappu, death was the only escape.

    faith-1_062113121708.jpg
Rakesh Kumar (pillion) with KCF chief Kashmira Singh
Coercion and force were instrumental in Rakesh Kumar's march into terror's arms. But once in, he had a menacing rise in militant hierarchy.

But the choice he made on January 24 was startling. Because when he bit into the killer capsule, he was dying for an alien cause. A Hindu, he had grown into a hardcore member of the Khalistan Commando Force (KCF - Kashmira group).

More surprising, he is not the only Hindu youth to sound the Sikh war cry. The police admit that they have a dozen listed as 'Hindu militants', but the number must be many times more.

Apart from them, at least 10 of this strange breed have been killed in police encounters in the past few years while a few are under detention.

The paradox of a growing number of Hindus making common cause with those fighting to 'end the tyranny of the Brahminical rule' and the creation of Khalistan still defies understanding. Police and political observers alike are out of their depth in explaining the anomaly. Officials attribute it to the lure of lucre and adventurism, plus the respect and fear the militants evoke in rural Punjab.

Besides, in the militant-stronghold border belt, the surcharged atmosphere affects the Sikh and Hindu youth alike. And then, as Majitha police chief Paramjit Singh says: "Local connections matter in motivating youths to join the extremist ranks."

    faith-2_062113121708.jpg
Ashok Kumar (right) with fellow militants at their hideout
Converts to militancy such as Ashok Kumar Billa are more loyal to the cause and often more dangerous than their Sikh counterparts.

Predictably, the authorities fight shy of admitting that police high-handedness and unemployment could also be factors.

They, instead, accuse militant gangs of using coercion and ideological brainwashing to win over clean-shaven Hindu boys in order to use them as safe couriers. "They are useful in carrying messages and weapons and settling ransom amounts," points out a police officer who had a stint in Batala.

Coercion clearly was crucial in Rakesh Kumar's conversion. He had been trying to buy peace with the militants for long. As a salesman in a rural cooperative society at Mehsampura, in the Beas area, he had a close shave in 1988 when militants snatched his scooter and robbed him of the society money.

Fearful, he started growing a beard and sporting a turban. The turning point for him came when he was kidnapped by the militants a year ago. Argues his retired havildar father Jagdish Raj: "He took to the ruinous path out of compulsion, not conviction."

But once Rakesh joined the KCF, his rise was menacing. As close associate of Kashmira Singh, he was involved in a dozen killings and in several cases of extortion. His family came to know of his end only when they saw an advertisement in the newspaper announcing a bhog in his memory.

    faith-3_062113121708.jpg
The grieving parents and widow of Rakesh Kumar who took cyanide

The ruthlessness of Hindu militants is baffling the police as much as their metamorphosis. Many of them have no compunction in making even innocent Hindus their targets. "They are more dangerous and desperate than Sikh militants," says an Amritsar police official. Ironically, their terror has triggered large-scale Hindu migration from their own villages.

Take for instance, the case of Balwant Rai, alias Gullu, alias Gurdit Singh, a top lieutenant of KCF chief Paramjit Singh Panjwar and wanted in 30 killings. Coming from a poor Brahmin family of Khilchian town, he had drifted into militancy three years ago.

When a rival gang leader threatened to wipe out the local Hindu families, he reportedly eliminated a couple of their members. Caught in the crossfire, the town's 20-odd Hindu families fled. His killing in an encounter two months ago provokes the remark "good riddance" from his cousin Inderjit.

Like Gullu and Pappu, many Hindus have risen to occupy the top rungs in the militant hierarchy, say police officials. But the hump of passing the faith and reliability test has to be crossed first. Any breach means death. Officials cite the case of Ashok Kumar Billa, of Romana Chak village, who had become a hardcore member of the Babbar Khalsa. When arrested a few months ago, Billa proved to be a hard nut to crack for the interrogating agencies, who wanted to know the whereabouts of his gang's arms dump.

    faith-4_062113121708.jpg
    Mother displaying Ramesh Lal's trophy

Eventually, the arms were seized when a Sikh member squealed. The way to such loyalty is often chequered. Some Hindu youths take to the gun to settle personal scores, but coming in contact with militants in or outside the jails hardens them into terrorists. Ramesh Lal, alias Mehsi, alias Kabul Singh, is today a wanted militant of the Bhindranwale Tiger Force. But he was a district-level wrestler in his school days in a village of Dera Baba Nanak area.

The humiliation of not finding a job despite bribing an official turned into fury when some influential villagers got him arrested following a dispute. Naturally, he took up the avenger's role with some coaxing from a militant. The police records, however, show that after some militants shot dead seven Hindus of the village, he enlisted himself with a rival gang.

The experience now of Ramesh Lal's family is typical of the utter haplessness of the Hindu militants' kith and kin who face the wrath of militants as well as the police. Ramesh's father and other relations have been detained and tortured many times over, to secure the absconder's surrender. "My son would never have gone underground had the police not harassed him," insists Ramesh's mother. Adds his younger brother, Mahinder Pal: "While we live under the fear of militants, there is no let-up in police high-handedness."

The Hindu militants' families face the wrath of both the police and the extremists.

One ploy the militants use to I ensnare Hindu boys is to first embroil them in minor crimes. But once caught in the vortex of terrorism, they find no way out.

For instance, Vikas Pandit, a Batala scooter mechanic, started off as a willing 'spotter' for a school buddy bent upon killing a local bjp leader. Subsequently, under duress, he actively worked for the KCF (Zaffarwal) and terrorised local industrialists until the security forces killed him.

    faith-5_062113121708.jpg
Mother of the first Hindu militant, Roshan Lal Bairagi

Treating the saying "if you can't beat them, join them" as a precept was how Vishnu Dutt and Prem Kumar, Brahmin brothers of Jamalpur village, 7 km from Damdami Taksal's base, came to militancy. The villagers recall that the family was associated with Sant Bhindranwale. But after one of their relations was killed during Operation Blue Star, they got themselves baptised.

Later, Vishnu grew into a dreaded militant under the KCF's Bakhshish Singh Kalyug, but fell to police bullets. Soon after his brother's killing, Prem Kumar, alias Panthjit Singh, too picked up the AK-47. He is now second-in-command in the Khalistan Armed Force, according to the police.

Unemployment, however, is what propelled Pardeep Kumar on a militant trajectory. A trained electrician in Bhagowal village near Batala, he could not find a job. Joining a Sikh seminary in 1989, he came into contact with a Babbar Khalsa member. Before his arrest in April last year, the police allege, he was smuggling arms from Pakistan (see interview).

    faith-6_062113121708.jpg
Vishnu Dutt's uncle, Charan Das with his wife

Clearly, militancy by Hindu-turned-Sikhs has grown exponentially since the first reported case of Roshan Lal Bairagi of Varpal village in Amritsar district who was arrested from New Delhi in 1986. The militants cannot be but grateful.

The 'martyrdom' of Hindu-born militants is as widely publicised and their bhogs as largely attended as of other militants. Thousands had turned up at the border village of Madhar at the joint bhog ceremony of Sarwan Kumar, alias Palwinder Singh, and his brother Ashok Kumar, alias Sukhwinder Singh, after they were killed in police encounters.

Does the aberration throw up any political pointers? Veteran CPI leader and Punjab observer Sat Pal Dang thinks so. Says he: "It only goes to prove that terrorism in Punjab is no more an ideological movement but has become a profession." Also that it is duress, harassment, and unemployment that may be leading young boys into the arms of terror. And clearly these states of distress are coloured neither by religion nor faith.

Dalits, Neo-Sikhs and Khalastani's have always been showing hatred for Brahamans.... and also calling them as cowards...without even recognizing the scribes who fearlessly assisted their gurus...some even gave up their lives.....I think it is because of Brahamins that Kshatriays and Rajputs were always reminded of their heritage and duty...and in some cases such brahmins like the Peshwas of maratha empire...lead the wars from the front and played a very important role in the revival of Hinduism in India.......
and then Sikh reply and started debate
    • Ajaypal Singh Brar Scribes who assisted their guru's and distorted his teachings .....and except by mati dass and sati dass can you name any brahmin who gave his life.....in case of tegh bahadurs case at least thousands of kashmiri pundits should have laid down their lives....but what you expect from a community which ran away from their motherland without giving a fight back in modern India......

    • SarcasticIndian Whoisannahazare com'on Ajaypal Singh Brar ji so you mean that Guru Nanak meant Allah every where and Scribes wrote it as Shiv...Chandi etc
    • SarcasticIndian Whoisannahazare and I guess that touch of Pundits is causing Sikhs to reject and convert almost entire meaing of Guru Granth into a Quranic interpretation.....
    • SarcasticIndian Whoisannahazare //n case of tegh bahadurs case at least thousands of kashmiri pundits should have laid down their lives..../// many Pundits were already giving their lives... they also converted one of their son as Sikhs....

    • SarcasticIndian Whoisannahazare and do you disagree that it were the same Sikhs who gave almost no resistance to the invaders when they came knocking their doors and ran away until their gurus were killed...it is all about organizing and nothing about caste.....

    • SarcasticIndian Whoisannahazare it is because of pundits and Gurus association with them that Sikhism is still in dharmic form...otherwise it would have been another Abrahamic religion more than what Khalistanis are currently projecting.....
    • Ajaypal Singh Brar Have you read guru granth sahib ...or any of its tikkas by modern Sikhs .....??? And can you name any brahmin scribe of any guru ....??? And any brahmin by name who converted his family to Sikhism and laid down his life as khalsa fighting the enemy ..???

    • SarcasticIndian Whoisannahazare //And can you name any brahmin scribe of any guru// so now you want to say that there were no Brahmin scribes of gurus ??

    • Ajaypal Singh Brar Sikhism can never ever be Judaic Christian religion ....guru Nanak was a real Hindu hero and very basis of his teachings was return to old Hindu thought and purity ....he looked down upon malechas and scorned Hindus who followed Muslim customs ....I can quote innumerable bani on this ....moolmanter itself is paraphrasing of Gods description in vedas
    • Ajaypal Singh Brar Why don't you give even one name ....of brahmin scribe of gurus

    3. Result was declared yesterday the 12-4-2014
    -----------
We have according to our humble knowledge highlighted various categories
    1. Punjabis given yellow high light colour
    2. Brahmins - Green colour
( We have also included Banias and Kayasthas in the Brahmin category)
    • Total Nos. of Brahmins selected - 205 i.e 18%
    • The community should be proud of the fact that Brahmins are mostly found among the 400 toppers. Very interesting to note that they can't be found on the bottom list.
    • Total Nos of Punjabis selected - 30 This means Punjabis living in Delhi, Haryana, Himachal have all been included. I fear those selected from Punjab are only a few.
    • Total Nos of Sikhs selected - 15 i.e 1.3%
    • i.e according to their present percentage in India's total population. At the independence of India the Sikh share among the ICS was roughly 25% while in the Army officers they were to the tune of about 33%.
    • Once again the communist policy planner has been proved wrong. The communist intellectual toed the Govt of India line that we should have strict birth control and produce quality in stead of quantity.
    • May it be known that the literacy rate of Punjab which stood at 11th place in India in 1971 census has come down to 25th place as far as male literacy is concerned.
    • It is thus proved that as for as human quality is concerned it comes through quantity and it rather emerges through competition.
    • Akal Takhat Jathedar is thus vindicated that we should have more babies in Punjab i.e a minimum of 4 per couple.
    • Any way the communists owe an explanation to the Punjabi community.

I agree, to much publicity , how is it possible . Every Indian chaneel was showing it again again. I think Badal was pressurized buy Modi & Co to make sure that there will no slogans for Khalisthan

  9. Here is my research which hopes and tries to uphold gurmat/gurbani as balanced, pristine as possible:

Hari just like term raam mostly in gurbani refers to Akaal purkh.

With that being said, we cannot ignore or reject sargun interpretation and reference of term - hari sargun darshan/dedicated to sargun hari in devotion to (be it vishnu or its avtars, chaturbhuj vishnu) in gurbani bhagat bani used by bhagats initially in sargun bhakti later on bhagats perceiving hari as nirgun parbhram after they progressed spiritually or after the darshan of sargun hari.

Sure those shabad which are references to sargun hari (from historical/sargun bhakti standpoint) can be also interpretated as antriv arths where shabad allows (from anubhav arth in meditation vantage point) which is fine from as long sargun interpertation of hari is not downplayed or totally rejected as we then inadvertently reject historical/sargun bhakti stance of bhagats included in gurbani all in fear of fighting some junkie hindu fanatic kid.

So in this way shabad has to be proper contexualized and also looked at historical angle. We cannot always interpret gurbani from nirgun antriv arth standpoint as gurbani is meant for all seekers from all walks of life, addresses to both sargun bhagat (help them with spiritual development) and nirgun ikongkar shabad upsakh.

Many bhagats bhagat bani reference who are included in gurbani starting their spiritual journey quest with sargun bhakti and have used hari term in gurbani in reference to sargun Hari in bhagti but as they spiritual progressed they perceive hari from sargun hari to sarabvpyapk hari or raam (ramiya hoya all prevading paremshvar).

Regarding this hindu fanatic, don't even need to mention gurbani...just beat him with his own tools- bring vedanta outright rejection of hari being vishnu. He won't have anything to say. Tell him if vedanta does not agree with hari being vishnu being some authority but only vyapk atma but how the hell you expect outside gurmat to agree with your sargun fanatic stance.

Most of rss hindu sargun fanatics propaganda can be beaten by their own hindu gnosis school of thought (Vedanta/gyan marg listed in their own bhagvad gita), without sikhs acting in fear/downplaying (contary to true search in gurmat) or going extreme lenghts of undermining gurmat teaching or downplaying/ water down gurmat interpertation. Leave gurbani the way it is...Lets not water down interpertation to fight off rss. Enough damage is already being done to gurmat traditions or framework all in the name of fighting rss.

What is Vedant ? Can you provide more info or link where i can read this .

  10. Hindu Gujju fanatic has email me some questions related to Harmandar Sahb and Bhagat Bani

After yesterday clashed in Akal Takht many Hindus have started questioning Sikhs about yesterday clashes and many Sikhs have answer them saying its our internal matter so back off but some have come back saying

    1) The word Hari means Vishnu and it Har Mandar menas Vishnu Temple so we have every right to interfere.

    2) Guru Granth Sahib contains Baanis of Hindu bhagats and why your Gurus added it ? Its stealing .

Would request you all to help to answer Hindu fanatics on above questions.

  11. Whoever your friend or this person is, is just taking one line or a few words of a shabad. There is a whole verse to understand not just a few lines. Calling Bhagat Dhana Jee Jatt, is just for reference as that how is was known as. Its like we dont refer to Maharaja Ranjeet Singh as just Ranjeet Singh or Soocha Soorma. Even now people who are not following Sikhi or dont know much Sikh history will refer to Bhagat Jee as Dhana Jatt.

You say this person is an ex-Sikh I am curious to know has this person commence following another path or has become an atheiest.

I remember in Univsersity a person who claimed he was Sikh had become an Muslim, unfortunately he grew up in a prodominately Muslim area so never had any Sikh friends or sangat. When I answered all his questions and even gave him a book called 'a Challenge to Sikhism' (great book by the way) instead of accepting the answers to his questions in the book he went to the Muslims to get their version and understanding of Sikh history and scriptures even though he claimed he wanted to learn Sikhi and our history.

I found this bizzare if you want to learn Sikhi go to Sikhs not Muslims they wont have nothing too good to say about it. Thats like going to Hindus to learn Chirstainity. Poor banda was confused and had a sense of belonging in the area he grew up in.

Who is the writer of Challenge to Sikhism ? Is this book available online.

  12. that guy is talking nonsense , the lines he quoting from Ang 487 /488 is from Shabad by Bhagat Dhanna ji , stating that the Bhagats which hailed from the so called low castes rose in social status due to bhakti , and taking inspiration from these ( KABIR JI , RAVIDAAS JI , NAMDEV JI ) Dhanna also started bhagti and attained the desired goal The reason you raised question is , We have not read and imbibed the sense of Gurbani , had you read the whole shabad , you would have been able to make suitable reply on the spot . meaning that for Waheguru, man made system caste has no relevence

for Ang 469 what Guru Sahib Says is quoted out of reference please read the full verse from Jog sabdang gian Sabadang , bed sabadang brahmahah ---- to Nanak ta ka daas hai soi niranjan dev.Again , Bro you have not read so you are not able to understand and reply whereas that guy is quoting single lines and distortingg the full meaning to 180degree

My request is , please read and understand gurbani by sparing some time

    Fateh

I agree veer ji i have no knowledge of Gurbani , can you suggest some books which can help not only understanding Gurmat but also to answer counter questions on Sikhi and Gurmat .

  13. Amritsar, Punjab (April 15, 2014): Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) candidate from Amritsar Lok Sabha seat has been running his office from the Khanna Smark in Amritsar, named after late Hasrbans Lal Khanna, who was responsible for committing a nefarious, provocative and highly sacrilegious act against Guru Ram Das ji, Darbar Sahib (Amritsar) and the Sikhs.

    Arun-Jaitly-hails-Harbans-Lal-Khanna-300

Arun Jaitley paying “tributes” to Harbans Lal Khanna

It has been documented in the official White Paper issued by the SGPC that Harbans Lal Khanna led a mob of disgruntled elements on 14th Feburary 1984, at Amritsar during a ‘Bandh’, that had damaged the model of Darbar Sahib Amritsar placed at Amritsar Railway station in early 1980s.

Arun Jaitly recently hailed Harbans Lal Khanna and thereby showed his anti-Sikh mindset.

It is extremely shameful for Parkash Singh Badal and the Badal Dal to run a joint office from the Harbans Lal Khanna ‘Samarak’ at Amritsar and seek votes for Arun Jaitely, in view of extremely derogatory, provocative and highly sacrilegious act committed by Harbans Lal Khanna against the Guru Ram Das ji, Darbar Sahib and the Sikhs.
