  1. Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Vaheguru Ji Ki Fateh We strongly refute the accusation that the LSA referred to or labelled any members of the Panth as ‘thugs’ on our Facebook page. This would be insensitive and not in line with our credo as a United Platform for Leicester’s Sikhs. Furthermore, there is no substance in the further concocted allegation that the LSA have deleted such terminology from our FB account to avoid criticism. No such word was ever used. We challenge any person to provide credible evidence ( i.e. a genuine screenshot of our FB page) that contradicts our truthful assertions. In regards to Grooming prevention in our community, many of Leicester’s Gurdwaras, individuals and groups (inc the LSA) have diligently lobbied and urged the Police to prioritise the search and conviction of groomers that are the scourge to society. We can report that the police have increased its CSE (Child Sex Exploitation) Team from 3 to 9 members now working within the Leicestershire Constabulary. The Police are also rolling out a CSE safeguarding awareness programme. Moreover, the LSA have also made a number of representations to Gurdwaras, Social Services, Charities, Education Dept. and the Police to work in partnership with the only existing Sikh specific community organisation in this area, namely the Sikh Awareness Society (SAS). We have asserted that the SAS, through their dedicated Sewa, have the knowledge, insight and experience of how sex exploitation affects the sisters of the Panth and Punjabi community. We have communicated to the above-mentioned authorities that the SAS are trusted by the Sangat as they tirelessly endeavour to educate on this subject through the Sikh Channels, University Sikh Societies and Gurdwaras. Furthermore, LSA is a Panthic organisation which regularly works on issues relating to 1984, Kesri Lehar, Professor Bhullar and many others. Please do not take our word for it; we encourage everyone to take a look at topics of interest (around the times they took place) on our Facebook page (www.facebook.com/LeicestershireSikhAlliance) and our website (wwww.sikhalliance.co.uk). You will also notice the many local projects we have worked on, such as the Vaisakhi Food Drive, Basics-of Sikhi Educations Seminars and many more. The LSA consists of dedicated team of sevadars and we aim to be nishkaam in our delivery. Our nishkaam principle does not lend itself to the modern expectation that every lobbying meeting should be feedback to the wider Sangat. We may have not got that balance right on this occasion. We shall now endeavour to issue more communiques and we respectfully request more attendees to our meetings. We support all Sikh organisations doing good work and we want the best for the Sikh community and Chardikala of the Panth.
