Many of your Pakistani Punjabi friends in the West can speak Urdu but not Punjabi. You are a dying minority as you were born in Pakistan. In fact, Imran wouldn't mind English as an official language of Pakistan so he could marry another white girl.

You have no idea of historical Islamic scholarship or Islam's theology etc. Have you ever wondered why Judaism and Christianity just scummed to post-enlightenment secular onslaught while Islam performed really well infront of secular rational onslaught, Mashallah? Classical Islam is based on enlightenment, rational era..Remember, Islam saw the "golden age" early in his career? Scholars in as early as 8th century questioned Islam, Qur'an, Prophet Muhammad, Islamic Theology etc etc...So Islam has already seen all of it and Mashallah is geared to survive in the harshest of environments..that is why it is THE most successful religion of human history. Show me another faith that got 2.2 billion followers in first 1450 years of its existence and became a global religion and spreaded everywhere? Only Islam can do that..Mashallah!

Scholars, theologians, rational skepticals etc just teared through Islam..asking questions after questions..questioning everything..doubting every aspect of Islam...and hence the Islamic Scholarship arose. The base of Islam is VERY strong Mashallah..it has already faced the 'music' and came through it...Other religions just failed.

For example : There are 8 books written by one Egyptian Scholar of 10th century exploring the 'problem' that Allah says in Qur'an that God has revealed this text to Muhammad in Arabic..but some of the words in Qur'an have Persian origin..how come? (He actually proves that this wasn't a problem and those words, though believed to be Persian, were in fact Arabic) See, this was the level of scrutiny Islam went through when it was in his childhood...but gullible non-Muslims can dream on that about common sense blah blah...While Islam swepts through the world globally Mashallah :biggrin2:

Well, your ancestors were also either Hindu or Muslims..later they converted to Sikhism. How do we know that my ancestors were forced to convert to Islam? Over-whelming majority of Muslims in Punjab became Muslims due to Sufi Saints, and not because of any conversions.

Islam spread in India due to Sufis..not b/c of military power. Islam "arrived" in India mainly due to military conflicts..but it spread due to Sufis..

Pakistan could have been a great country. They had the best part of Punjab. They got Lahore and Karachi which were amongst the best cities in India at the time. Sadly by bowing to extremists like Jamat e Islami they have gotten to the state it is in right now. Even now, Pakistan had a good chance of a bright future if they had elected a clean and dignified guy like Imran Khan, but instead they elected Nawaz Sharif who during the 90s looted Pakistan almost as the Bhuttos did before him.

I know!!!! I, like majority of other over-seas Pakistanis, were supporting PTI and Imran Khan! But thanks to foreign powers, military establishment, massive rigging, and mentally slave Punjabis..Nawaz came back to power.

Well, its wrong. Lets take last fifteen years of Pakistan..

for 10 years, a SINDHI Army general (Gen. Musharraf) ruled Pakistan...

and then, a SINDHI Shia ruled Pakistan for next 5 years... (Asif Ali Zardari)

So to say that only sunni punjabis dominate Pakistan and others are doomed is a factually wrong statement to make as I proved.

But yeah, majority of Pakistanis are Punjabi and sunnis and hence you'll see them playing a big role..which is only natural..

Also, Pakistani armed forces aren't Punjabi armed forces. There many Pashtun, Sindhi Generals in Pakistan Army...

One is Punjabi (Gen. Haroon Aslam) and the other one is Pashtun (Lt. Gen Tariq Khan) ...

I personally hope General Haroom Aslam becomes the next commander of Pakistan Army. Lt. Gen Tariq Khan, though a very competent commander, has a reputation of being toooo much pro-U.S. This goes against him.

Gen. Haroon Aslam is a man of honor that leads his troops from the front. Also, he doesn't have the reputation of being a "secular". He is seemingly very pro-Islam and this goes well as he'll be leading the largest Muslim military in the region!

Punjabi bro, those in glass houses should not throw stones. Compared to the problems of criminal activity relating to the Pakistani youth in the UK, these North American Sikh youth are nothing or a foot note at best. From forming criminal gangs, dealing drugs, sexually exploiting and prostituting under aged girls, the Pakistani youth do it all. Why do you think so many British Sikhs here are so apprehensive about Pakistanis and began attacking you on the other thread?

Some Sikh youth go through a faze during their teenage years where they become aggressive and get into some fights *WOW BIG DEAL*. But they straighten up by their mid 20s, eventually becoming productive members of society in the country they live in. I think the problem of the Sikh youth is their lack of religious observance. Too many are influenced by the hip hop culture mixed with negative aspects of Pendu Punjabi culture.

As for Gurdwara fights, yes it happens. It's unfortunate that it happens because it shouldn't. But atleast no one dies. but Pakistanis are known to literally blow up each other's masjids and kill fellow Muslims in Masjids just because they are Shia, Ahmadis, barelvi or some other Islamic sect. Thank Vaheguru, we don't have such problems in our community. Strangely of all Muslims in the world, this happens most commonly amongst Pakistani Muslims than non Pakistani Muslims. So it is not Pakistanis that should be looking down on Sikhs, but the other way around.

But only one thing : Bombings of Mosques isn't a "community" problem but a political struggle...Pakistan is going through a kind of civil war right now...Talibans don't bomb Shia mosques only..they bomb Sunni, Shia, Sufi...whatever mosques.

It is lonngggggggggggggggggg struggle that Islam is facing..from the very beginning, there is a kind of civil war within Islam. Sometimes I get amazed that how a religion that is in the state of a kind of civil war for centuries became so successful and spread throughout the world..and is keep on going Mashallah..with all the problems. ALOT of fights take place at Gurudwara and specially at annual Sikh/Punjabi Mela here in California. Sikh youths actually wait for Mela to happen so that they can settle score with eachother infront of everybody..

These kids think that they are some really hi fi gansters..they'll fight for no reason etc, use their karas explicitly for fighting and so on. Even during highschools, it was soooooooooooooo annoying/embarrassing to see these "punjabis" acting dumb..cuz in highschool, you are also recognized with them (since I'm a Punjabi too)...

Now some mods might delete my posts and call me offensive or even ban me...but what offensive thing I said? While Sikhs were calling Islam as nazism, fascism, and describing Muslims as nazis...and Prophet as a terrorist (nauzbillah)...THAT wasn't 'offensive' or 'insulting' to the mods..they didn't warn or 'delete' the posts...but i just replied to those posts and didn't even insult Sikhism...and yet my posts were deleted and I was warned...

A bit clarification : The people you are talking about are called "Salafists". Wahabis are very strict, puritanical follows of Islam...but they aren't the 'fascist' type..There is a group within Wahabiii Islam called Salafists. These are the people who will bomb sufi saint shrines, hindu temples, non-salafi mosques etc...Many people don't this and hence bash wahabis as a whole..which is technically wrong. I'm no fan of Wahabism..but Wahabis won't bomb you just b/c you don't follow their brand of religion. It is the salafists who have this fascist behavior....

Uhh..can you directly give the specific source flor the above mention statement? Then I'll be able to explain better that in what context that saying/verse was revealed etc. As far as I know, there is no general verse in Qur'an who commands about fighting non-Muslims. There are verses talking of war but that was in a specific context of Prophet Muhammad vs Qurish tribe wars...Give a specific source/quotation and then I'll be able to reply more specifically Inshallah..
