This article is significant because it highlights India's fear of the word 'GENOCIDE'. Why?

Because India signed the 'Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide' (Adopted by Resolution 260 (III) A of the United Nations General Assembly on 9 December 1948) on 29th Nov 1949.

India formally ratified (gave formal consent to (a treaty, contract, or agreement), making it officially valid) the convention on 27th Aug 1959.

Indira Gandhi's father, Jawaharlal Nehru was the Prime Minister of India during this time. So, it is ironic that the Gandhi family agreed to 'prevent and punish the crime of genocide' and then led the political party that committed Genocide and subsequently prevented punishment of those involved.

As a signatory, India is accountable to the International Community and must answer for its breach of responsibilities.

After the Jewish holocaust of World War 2, Germany was in denial for many years. India is still in denial of its evil.

It is the duty of all Sikhs to ensure injustices do not continue. If India thinks it can avoid its obligations, what will it do next?

Anand Karaj is governed by the Sikh Reht Maryada (Sikh code of conduct and conventions).

The rules cannot be changed even if one 'thinks' they are right or wrong.

The persons attending the wedding mentioned in this post have failed to understand the true meaning of Anand Karaj. The message they needed to focus on was their union with god.

We have a guide here for further reading - http://www.discoversikhism.com/sikhism/sikh_anand_karaj.html

Article 25 in The Constitution Of India 1949
    25. Freedom of conscience and free profession, practice and propagation of religion
    (1) Subject to public order, morality and health and to the other provisions of this Part, all persons are equally entitled to freedom of conscience and the right freely to profess, practise and propagate religion.
    (2) Nothing in this article shall affect the operation of any existing law or prevent the State from making any law -
    (a) regulating or restricting any economic, financial, political or other secular activity which may be associated with religious practice;
    (b) providing for social welfare and reform or the throwing open of Hindu religious institutions of a public character to all classes and sections of Hindus.
Explanation I - The wearing and carrying of kirpans shall be deemed to be included in the profession of the Sikh religion
Explanation II - In sub clause (b) of clause reference to Hindus shall be construed as including a reference to persons professing the Sikh, Jaina or Buddhist religion, and the reference to Hindu religious institutions shall be construed accordingly.
The Constitution of India is federal in nature. Each state and each Union territory of India has its own government. However, Punjab has been denied its own capital as others States of India have. Instead, draconian laws allowing the central government to take control are in place. Chandigarh is a city and a union territory in the northern part of India that serves as the capital of the states of Haryana and Punjab. As a union territory, the city is ruled directly by the Union Government of India and is not part of either state.
Sikhs did not sign the constitution.

Doesn't Gurmukhi mean from the Guru's mouth. Making it only the Guru can write gurmukhi and everyone else writes punjabi?

Bhaji, the first part is correct.

Guru Nanak developed the Gurmukhi script in the form of 'Gurmukhi Painti'. Guru Angad popularized and standardized the script.

Guru Ji did not invent Gurmukhi from scratch; he modified the Landa (lahnda) script to reflect, pronunciation and the authentic tonal expressions to what is known as Gurmukhi today.

However, Guru Ji's writings are known as 'Gurbani'.

This post has gone off topic.

However, a lot of nations all over the world supply other nations with resources and weapons (rightly or wrongly). This is something different to knowing about or participating in genocide.

We would read with interest, if anyone has any real material which shows the involvement of other nations in Sikh genocide (like the evidence discovered in January 2014 and UK betrayal in helping India plan Sikh genocide).

As an panth we should also be concerned about the enemies within.

For example, did you know Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC) members turned traitor to Sikhs (while in office) and worked for Congress overlords in abusing and buying off defenseless Sikh widows?

There appears to be a lot of confusion regarding Punjabi and Gurmukhi.
People make the assumption that there is a language called Punjabi (what we use everyday) and there is the language called Gurmukhi - the language used to write the Guru Granth Sahib.
So are there two languages?? Did the Guru’s use different language called Gurmukhi?? The answer is No.
It would be more accurate to say one speak's Punjabi and read's or write's Gurmukhi.
Remember - Punjabi is language (what we speak). Gurmukhi is a script (how we write Punjabi).
(Punjabi is also written using shahmukhi (urdu) and devanagari (hindi) scripts)

Why am I not surprised ? When they the SGPC brought in outside printing houses themselves to do the job many raised objections , but it set a precedent in people's avaricious minds ...

We should as a kaum stop all padd chedd printing whther in pothian or saroops of Guru ji , teach people to only read larivaar , accept larivaar as the right thing to do and track each and every saroop printed so beadbhi can be avoided.

    Waheguru... great point.

(Words in brackets are not part of the quotations given below and are for the purpose of translation or explanation only.)
"It is a grave sin to recite Bani (the Guru's Word) incorrectly."

Resolution No. 2682, dated 21st January 1945, Chief Khalsa Diwan.

We also need to urgently fully digitize existing historical saroops and make them "freely" available so they cannot be lost/ stolen/ damaged or destroyed.

Bhaji, we created a brief article on this - http://www.discoversikhism.com/sikhism/sikh_stopwatch.html
Our understanding was that "Days and Nights as divided into 8 pehra's. Each day (from sunrise to sunset) is split into 4 equal pehra's. Each night (from sunset to sunset) is also split into 4 equal pehra's. This means a pehra during the day in the Summer can be longer than a pehra at night in the Summer.
As seasons change and days become shorter or longer, Pehra can become longer or shorter (more than and less than 3 hours). Night time is the same. So, Amrit vela is likely to differ in various countries and seasons."
Note: The stopwatch on our page only works with Internet Explorer but is really great to see.

Do you think you know what happened in Delhi in November 1984 and subsequent injustices that are still ongoing today?

Today, we have released over 750 additional pages in the expanded 1984 Delhi Sikh Genocide section. Much in the way of affidavits, statements of witnesses, police records (with names & addresses of those arrested) and a long list of persons who were killed by the hindu mobs and the terrorist State of India.

Read the truth about the 1984 Sikh Genocide - http://www.discoversikhism.com/sikh_genocide/1984_delhi_genocide.html

Although the following seek no recognition, we Thank - Citizens Justice Committee, Human Rights Watch, Sikhs For Justice, Witness 84, Tehelka; for all the help, support, advice and information provided.

There is one specifically (who the Sikh Sangat owes a debt) who helped has helped Sikh victims tirelessly for over 30 years - Harvinder Singh (Phoolka)

We hope the information we have collected will be used by others in future. Much still needs to be done, HS Phoolka still has many records that need to be digitized and made available to all. We need help from Sikhs who care enough to make a difference.

There was a time, as Mehtab Singh mentioned, when Sikhs use to provide justice to other communities...

Very true bhaji, now we rely on a solitary old Sikh to starve himself while we rest easy in our comfortable homes and modern lifestyles.

Sikhs are not asking for preferential treatment, only equal rights. Why haven't Sikh prisoners been released? (as prisoners of other religions and faiths in similar situations have)

India is an anti-Sikh terrorist state.

I, Sardar Singh Ahuja, aged about 63 years, Sarai Rohilla, Delhi, do hereby on solemn affirmation state and declare as under: -
    1. I say that at abut 2.30 PM on 1-11-84, the Granthi of our Gurdwara Singh Sabha, Sarai Rohilla, Delhi made announcement on the loudspeaker that the Gurdwara was attacked by the Non-Sikhs and the Sikhs should came to the Gurdwara to save it. On hearing this announcement I went to the Gurdwara, along with my sons Amarjit Singh and Manmohan Singh. About 25 to 30 Sikhs reached the Gurdwara in response to the said announcement.
A huge crowd was gathered near the Gurdwara of Non-Sikhs who were time and again attacking the Gurdwara. We Sikhs were repelling the attacks of Non-Sikhs. After some time a police vehicle came there, who did not check the Non-Sikh crowd but announced that the Sikhs should enter the Gurdwara.
    2. The Sikhs responded to the police call and entered the Gurdwara. Across the road there are barracks of Railway Protection force. The railway protection force opened fire on the Sikhs in the Gurdwara. I was hit on my legs and other parts of the body and one bullet struck me at my abdomen. The RPF men who were firing were all Non-Sikhs. They did not fire on the Non-Sikh mob who has attacking the Gurdwara. They fired about 100 rounds. One or two of them were having double barrel guns as well. About 3 or 4 persons were killed on the spot.
    3. This firing was resorted by Railway Protection Force men because the Sikhs repelled the attacks of the Non-Sikhs mob who were trying to loot the Gurdwara and were intending to set it on fire.
    4. When heavy firing started Sikhs were complied to abandon the Gurdwara and then the Gurdwara was looted and burnt by the Non-Sikh mob.
    5. I was then taken to Bara Hindu Rao Hospital by a police van who came there at my house after some time upon information having been given by some one. Because I was mentioning Railway protection force men who fired at me and others and the cause of serious injury to me was due to their firing my report was not recorded. The firing was started at about 3.30 PM or 4 PM.
    6. I am attaching herewith copies of the medical record. Neither any case is registered against the RPF men so far as my knowledge goes nor any investigation is done. The police never gave any protection to the Sikhs against the Non-Sikhs for several days from 1-11-84.

Think about it in any war and conflict those elites in power do not want their proxies over run by new regimes so they fund covertly the power they put in place (indian despotic regime) to keep the populations that want change and freedom under oppression and persecution.

Now we learnt in jan 2014 that thatches british govt and its military intelligence aided the Indian army and govt to attack the Sikhs at their holiest shrine. Why are Sikhs still asleep? Why isnt the pillars of Sikh society raising their voices and demanding action? Have they been brought out or have their sold out for their vested interests?

Why are we not prosecuting the British government and others involved in the genocide of our people and destruction of lives and properties in punjab?. The reason Sikhs were given their own homeland in 1947 wwas not out of accident it was a deliberate policy to created pakistan over the land of the former Sikh empire so that the pakistani leaders who are in the pay of the british will do as they are told and commit the nesscary genocide of the Sikhs and keep them at bay from demanding their own state.

The Queen invited the ruthless leader of sri lankan to a banquet as head of the commonwealth while 40,000 sri lankan tamils were being murdered she knew very well this was going on and yet she invited killer of all those people. This tells you her attitude towards other communities who have had genocides against them done... she and her establishment has be aidding the murders of innocents in order to rule all over the world via her proxy agents.

The jews got their justice and still get billions of pounds in recompense.... we need not only compensation but the truth to be outted, the criminals in british govt and others to be brought to book and we need our own sovereign nation state to have freedom for our people.

    All very good points,

Generally, we have the impression that the British are mercenary by nature and prioritize economic benefits before moral values.

  14. ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਕਾ ਖਾਲਸਾ, ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਕੀ ਫਤਿਹ

I, Mrs. Balwinder Kaur, wife of late Mr. Pritam Singh, aged 27 years, resident of Jahangirpuri, Delhi, do hereby solemnly affirm and state as under:
    1. That my husband worked as a Mason. I have three children – two boys and a girl.
    2. On 1st November, 1984, around 6 PM, about 40 or 50 people came in front of my house and asked my husband Pritam Singh to come out of the house. Because of fear we had locked the house and were on the terrace. They said that they wanted to talk to my husband. I told them that they talk to me instead of my husband. They insisted and persisted saying that my husband come out of the house to talk to them.
    3. Seeing their mood I asked one or two of them to come into the house, to the terrace to talk to my husband. Before I could bolt the door after letting one or two in, three or four persons pushed and got inside the house. They told my husband to give them whatever weapons he had, My husband gave them the sword he had. About half an hour later those people came back and said that they wanted my husband's signature stating that the weapon (Sword) was his, so that they could return it to him. They had tea in the house and warned us not to sleep outside or come out during the night. Nothing i.e. no untoward incident happened during the night.
    4. On 2nd November, 1984 morning around 8 AM two policemen were seen by me in my street. My husband called out to them, seeking protection. They refused to come and went away.
    5. Soon after a mob of nearly 800 people filled the street. They asked my husband to cut his hair and shave his beard. I came down and pleaded with them with folded hands. I did not allow my husband to come out. The mob broke open the ventilator and set fire inside the house.
    6. We tried to put out the fire but could not. The mob broke open the already half burnt door. My husband ran out of the house. As he ran out they hit him with an iron rod near the knee. He fell down. Then they pierced him with a sword on his back. The sword came out through his chest. Then they poured kerosene on him and wanted to burn him. I shouted "No" and stretched myself on my husband. They hit me with the sword and beat me with iron rod. I got wounded at the side of the head because of the iron rod and got a deep cut at my elbow and the leg. I became unconscious. When I regained my consciousness I was in Hindu Rao Hospital.
    7. My children were saved by my neighbours.
    8. The crowd was a mixture, containing both local people and outsiders. The first crowd of 50 people were from the area. The mob of about 800 people came walking, I do not know from where. In that crowd I recognize some persons. One is a person named Binod from 'Y' Block. With him were his brothers – Dalchand and Pappu.
    9. Ten or twelve days after the riots, Binod was shouting aloud in the street at night, brandishing a knife saying that anyone who gives witness against him will be done away with. Most of the persons in the crowd seemed to be drunk.
    10. I heard that the crowd had burnt my husband's body. I have received Rs.10,000/- as compensation for my husband's death. My house was burnt. The material loss I estimate is about Rs.50,000/-.
  15. ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਕਾ ਖਾਲਸਾ, ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਕੀ ਫਤਿਹ

    Amrik Singh;
I, the deponent above-named do hereby solemnly state on oath as under: -
    1. On Nov.1, 1984, Rajinder Shukla with about a thousand men came to my shop. Dharam Dass Shastri, MP had ordered them to set on fire all the houses belonging to Sikhs and kill all the Sikh family including children and women, in that colony. Not one Sikh should escape. Shukla started attacking my shop after about half an hour. It was about 12 O'clock. After that the residents of the colony persuaded them not to harm innocent people. On Nov.1 itself, mob came again at night. They were shouting that it is our leader's order to kill all the Sikhs and burn their houses. They were raising slogans like, "Khoon Ka Badla Khoon Se Lengey", "All the Sikhs must leave", "Sikh's Khalistan is in Punjab", "We will not allow you to live here" etc. Rajinder Shukla accompanied with Ram Gopal, Ram Gopal’s son and other looted my electrical goods shop. They threw the account books and other documents outside and set these on fire.
    2. After that the mob proceeded to Gurdwara and they threw the holy book outside, kicked and urinated upon these books. They uprooted Nishan Sahib (religious flag of Sikhs) and looted the money chest. When the mob was running and killing Sikhs, the men comprising the mob had iron rods and kerosene oil tins with them. When we saw all this we telephoned police but they refused to intervene and said that they cannot do anything because they have the orders of the superiors. We went to the police station, they refused to lodge our report. From 3.11.84 to 9.11.84 we remained in the Ludlow Castle Camp. Our report was lodged on 11.11.84. Even now the hoodlums of Dharam Dass Shastri intimidate us.

Punjab Bandh: Under pressure from Hindutva forces Badal govt. arrests Sikh activists, genocide victims

    November 1, 2014 | By Parmjeet Singh

Amritsar, Punjab: The Punjab police has reportedly launched arrest drive to defuse Punjab Bandh call by AISSF and other Sikh bodies to protest against denial of justice to the victims of November 1984 Sikh Genocide. Sikh Siyasat News (SSN) sources revealed that the Punajb police has arrested Sikh activitsts and victims/ survivors of Sikh Genocide 1984 in wake of 1 November Punjab Bandh (Punjab Shut Down) call.

Sources told Sikh Siaysat News (SSN) that around 60 people have been arrested so far in Amritsar alone.

    Karnail-Singh-Peermohammad-Bibi-Jagdish-

Bibi Jagdish Kaur, Karnail Singh Peermohammad and others arrested by Punjab police to defuse Punjab Bandh Call

The Amritsar police arrested AISSF president Karnail Singh Peermohammad along with Sikh genocide survivor Bibi Jagdish Kaur and around 40 more persons when they were marching towards Amritsar Railways station.

    Karnail-Singh-Peermohammad-Bibi-Jagdish-

It is notable that BJP leader Lakshami Kanta Chawla had warned Badal government against Punjab Bandh. Hindutva leader had demanded that the Badal government should ensure that no disturbances are allowed in road and railway traffic.

The Punjab Bandh or Punjab shut down call was given by All India Sikh Students Federation (AISSF) and victims-survivors of the Sikh Genocide 1984 as a token protest against denial of justice to the victims of Sikh genocide 1984. The organizers of the Punjab Bandh were appealing to all sections of the society to observe shut down and show sympathy with the cause.

  17. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh

Before spending so much time writing an article, she should ask herself these simple questions:

    Am i Sikh?

(No. Being born in sikh family does not make you sikh. Guru Gobind Singh said, Rehat piyari Mujko)

    Should I represent Sikh female?

(When you are not Sikh then you have no right to represent kaurs)

    Very well said.

Muslim girls are the most loyal to their religion followed by Hindu girls

Bhaji, there are many muslims and hindus who think the opposite and admire Sikh girls for their values. Respectively, they think their girls are worse...

Otherwise, we agree 'the only medicine is Sikhi'...'otherwise we are lost in this world'. Wise words.

  18. ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਕਾ ਖਾਲਸਾ, ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਕੀ ਫਤਿਹ

Surinder Kaur - "I had earlier filed an affidavit before Justice Ranganath Mishra Commission of Inquiry. A photocopy of it is shown to me. It is the same affidavit which I had filed. It bears my signature. The affidavit is taken on record and marked as Exhibit No.53/1. In addition to what I have stated in my affidavit, I say that my husband Anoop Singh was killed on 1.11.1984. He was killed while he was going to his sister’s house.
My brother’s sister’s house was about 3 to 4 houses away from our house. Three other persons were also killed along with my husband. They were Kirpal Singh, Bakshish Singh and Gurmeet Singh.
In our locality there were three gallis. In all there where approximately 50 houses of sardars. All the houses were looted and burnt by the mobs.
The gurdwara was in the first gali. The mob had burnt the Gurudwara and killed the sevadar and his son who were residing in the Gurudwara. About 70 to 80 sikhs were killed in our locality. One women and three young girls were also killed."
We have hundreds of truly horrifying accounts (and will release them soon on our site, including how decades after 1984 witnesses have been threatened, beaten and bribed to change statements).
  19. ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਕਾ ਖਾਲਸਾ, ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਕੀ ਫਤਿਹ

In 1984, India exposed its true nature and feelings towards Sikhs by carrying out Sikh genocide.
Since then, hundreds of thousands of Sikhs have been slaughtered. Every day, Sikh injustice continues.
Phase 1 of State Terrorism began in June 1984 with the Genocide of Punjab and Sri Harmandir Sahib, Amritsar.
Five months later, when the Sikh bodyguards delivered justice personally to Prime Minister Mrs Gandhi, Sikh genocide against innocent Sikhs was renewed. This led to mass violence against the Sikh population in Delhi and all over India. Phase 2 began on 31st October when the government used the hindu masses to slaughter Sikhs in cold blood.
sikh_genocide35.jpg Hindu killer squads celebrate Sikh genocide.
Was Indira Gandhi a corrupt, ruthless and evil military dictator? Yes...
Indira Gandhi is most famous for her State of Emergency. On 12 June 1975 the High Court of Allahabad declared Indira Gandhi's election to the Lok Sabha void on grounds of electoral malpractice. The court thus ordered her to be removed from her seat in Parliament and banned from running in elections for six years.
Within a few months, the president's rule was imposed on the two opposition party ruled states of Gujarat and Tamil Nadu thereby bringing the entire country under direct Central rule or by governments led by the ruling Congress party. Police were granted powers to impose curfews and indefinitely detain citizens and all publications were subjected to substantial censorship by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.
Indira Gandhi was dictator of India for two years.
Indira Gandhi ended the emergency in 1977. She grossly misjudged her popularity by reading what the heavily censored press wrote about her and proceeded to hold elections, lost them, and was forced to step down. Indira Gandhi would later return to office.
Since 1984, the Indian state has continued to carry out extra judical killings, deny Sikh's justice, undermine Sikh institutions, subvert the Sikh youth and back anti-Sikh organisations.
