As commemoration of Guru Har Rai Sahib Jee's Gurpurab, we are asking sangat to saubmit articles or sakhi's of our Great Guru Sahib into this thread. One article will be selected and put on the OntarioSikhs.com website under 'Article of the Week'.

This would also be a great way to depict some of the Glories of our Great Guru Sahib and educate some others who do not know much of our Gurus.

Please do not hesitate to include more then one sakhi/article at a time if you want.

We wish you all a Happy Gurpurab.

Dhan Dhan Sree Guru Har Rai Sahib Jee!!

    www.OntarioSikhs.com

Sevadars have officially launched the OntarioSikhs.com website. The aim of this website is to be a 'one stop shop' site for all things needed as well as becoming a representation of the entire Ontario Sikh community.

We hope you will browse this site to see the great features and benefits that the website members share. This website was created after sevadars decided to combine OntarioSikhYouth.ca and SikhiSensations.com into one community website as the name suggests. We have uploaded all the files from the two websites on this site for easy access. This website consists of:

    - Regularly updated Events in G.T.A and around Ontario

    - Latest news affecting the Sikhs of Ontario

    - Multimedia section will contain keertan and photos from samagams and other programs in Ontario, powerpoint presentations for free distribution, and gurbani files for personal use.

    - Map and listings of all the gurdwaras in Ontario along with their addresses and phone numbers and an option to pull out directions and print them directly from the site.

    - Community message board to discuss community issues

    - Video of the week, which will also have interviews and footage of events around town

    - And much much more...

So don't wait - browse and bookmark now!

The sevadars/volunteers are from several different organizations in Ontario and we are working collectively as a team to be a benefitial source to the sikh community of Ontario in every aspect of life. We will work towards a common goal and unite as one.

Our future project on the website includes, setting up a online database of all Sikhi related items such as books, cds/tapes, kakaars, shastars, portraits/paintings, t-shirts, dvds and more. We will also be setting up a Sikh Help Line in the near future and appoint sevadars as counsellors for any help in regards to personal/family issues, sikhi related questions, help for newcomers to Canada, and be a source of other valuable information to Sikhs and non-sikhs around Ontario.

Please forgive us for any shortcomings and if you have any questions please e-mail us at contact@ontariosikhs.comThis e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it . Please help spread the word.

  9. on that note .. maybe you guys can make a whole SEPERATE section labelled "SITE UPDATES" where all sites can have their own threads and instead of finding it people can just post in that thread..

I reli suggest someone look into that which will be A LOT easier for people to post in instead of searching for specific threads

Is your summer a little lame and boring? Do you have younger brothers or sisters, just sitting at home in front of their X-BOX?? Well wait no further, Waterloo SSA is organizing their SECOND ANNUAL Sikh Youth Camp!!! I’m sure most of us probably went to a few Gurmat Camps in our time, and in the end, it was all well worth it, RIGHT? Friends were made, bonds were created, and oh yah WE LEARNED SOMETHING! Now, it’s time for our younger brothers and sisters to experience the same. Please make the effort to pass the message along to parents, brothers/sisters, cousins, nephews/nieces, even your 'gwandii'. Mark your calendars. Ready, Set, SIKHIIIII!!!!!

    WHEN: June 29, 30 & July 1st

    WHERE: Kitchener Gurughar

    COST ??? IT'S FREE !!!

    AGES: 6 to 18

    CAMP STARTS 12PM FRIDAY !!!!!

This Sikh Youth Camp has been designed to bring the Youth together to share knowledge of Sikhi and to promote Sikhi to our future. It will be run by qualified individuals from the University of Waterloo as well as other participating Universities all over Ontario. This camp is by the Youth, for the Youth. Working together we shall achieve an important element in Sikhi, which is Sangat. Included in the Sangat your child will have, are inspiring role models who are enthusiastic about instilling the Sikhi spirit within these young minds.

*****THE CAMP WILL END ON SUNDAY WITH A KEERTAN STARTING AT 1PM !!!!*****

The youth are expected to stay at the Gurughar during the whole duration of the Camp. No late registrations will be accepted. **The due date for applications is the weekend of June 22nd.**

**The applicant is required to bring the following**

    - Sleeping Bag, toothbrush, toothpaste, towel, soap, & clothes for 3 days

**Everything else will be provided by the organizers**

We feel very strongly about the comfort issues parents have, and would like to ensure you all, that your children will be in good hands. Our team consists of highly qualified individuals who will be looking out for the interest of your child.

This is a CO-ED camp. We would like to ensure everyone that this is not a get-together for members of the opposite sex, we are taking measures to ensure that everyone is comfortable and we are keeping within limits. The girls will be sleeping in a room that is near the langar hall in Kitchener Gurughar, and the boys will be sleeping upstairs. These two areas are completely separate from eachother, and if parents do ask you if this is the case, please notify them, that the two areas are not together at all, this is a major concern amongst parents, and we would like them to be as comfortable as possible.

Any other questions/concerns/comments please email back or feel free to contact the individuals on the poster for "faster service".
