There is no place for caste or any special group in Sikhi. Our ancestors are Shaheed Gursikhs. We are proud of it. Our father is Guru Gobind Singh Ji and mother Mata Sahib Kaur Ji. Our home is Anandpur Sahib. Sikhi makes everyone better. Sikhi does not need any jatts or anyone else. All humans including jatts need Sikhi. Sikhi survives because of Shaheedis and Naam Simran not because of jatts.

soorma, you are not even a Sikh. Ask your other "jatt" friends to leave Sikhi and see what happens. Sikhi will survive but jatts won't. Topic Closed.

We recieved some emails by some members about this issue. They want this thread to be closed because of their concern of peace within the Sikh gurdwara.

Since this is the local issue, we want sikh sangat of UK to solve it peacefuly. Legal action and calling police is not the way ! There is no court and judge who can solve the Panthic issue except the court power given to Akal Takht Sahib by our Guru Sahib.

We, on the behalf of sewadar team urge both sides to work out the issue without legal and police action.

Post will stay open as long it respects the forum Guidelines.

Veerjee, The reason we may not do it because most of all sewadars are young, unmarried and not at the level where we can run a matrimonial section. It's requirement is huge and requires huge extensive work... All Sewadars will discuss this with elders and will get back to you guys asap :lol: Hope that helps !!

Here are a few facts:

1. neither Jeevan nor myself have been consulted about the display of

the Granth. If you read what Graham Shaw seems to have said - he onlt

refers to Jeevan as someone who can interpret what is in the Granth.

Please believe me both Jeevan and I would have advised strongly against

this - we have in the past.

2. Neither Jeevan nor I have any connections with Nidar Singh Nihang -

and the assertion that Jeevan is connected to him is wrong and detracts

from what is otherwise an important issue. I dont think that the two

have ever met and if they have they certainlyhavent met at any Sikh events

in the UK!

saint soldiers section...nihang thread. this thread has been up and running for several weeks now despite my pleas to the admin (through pm and different threads) to take it down. people have been slandering/putting down nihangs. in the tuk above, it is clear what happens to one who slanders the khalsa. and whether one may want to believe it or not, nihangs whether they do bhang/eat meat are part of the khalsa. none of us has the right to claim them to not be 'true khalsa'.

i do not have the himmat to tell them day after day to do something about it. it has almost been a week of trying. they have moderated my posts (my posts must be approved b

efore being allowed up) so they put up what they wish. admin has also quit replying to my pm. as a result of this i chose to come to the sangat to push them to stop the slandering of guru sahib dey singh. sangato, now it is up to you to do what you can to stop the slandering of your brothers/sisters. email them, pm them, write in threads, do what you must do, just please stop this.

That is very true!!! We hold a gurmat training institute, every friday for an hour or so, and the difference of age that shows up is amazing, you got kids as young as 9 years old, to parents over 40, and they all sit with such interest..

To add to this, we show movies of our history, how our guru sahibans sacrificed everything they had, show the warrior spirt, the martial art, and the entire magnificent Khalsa legacy. They are so astonished, and keep coming back for more, once the base is strong from them, they will keep it within them the rest of their lives..

We need to target the young generation from 8 to 20 year olds. And show them everything that we've preserved of our history, background, and virsa.

As you may have noticed, we are making an attempt to regularly change the banners.

This is not only for visual enjoyment but also as a reminder of the times.

as a memorial for Rena Kaur, Parminder Singh & Charnjit Singh

as a memorial for 1984 families and victims

as a celebration of Guru Harkrishan Sahib Ji's gurpurab

as a reminder of the 90th anniversary of the departure of the Kamagata Maru

and other important events in Sikh present-day, future and past.

These can be to increase awareness, to give honour or to entertain.

Now we need your help

Doesn't matter if you've never designed a thing in your life - or you are a great designer

Copy the dimensions of the Sikhsangat banner (834 x 126 pixels), and create your own banners for important events.

Make a banner for all and every important Sikh event - try to design banners for the less known events to create more awareness.

Send them to publicrelations@waheguroo.com as an attachment

It should be a JPG or PSD file. If you have the PSD (with all the layers) that is much better.

If you send the JPG, send it as RGB. If you don't know what that is, don't worry about it.

The examples are in front of you - check today's banner for inspiration -- and get designing!

On the banner please don't include any additional phrases or text that is not absolutely necessary.
