The day will begin with the completion of the Akhand Paat Ceremony (religious prayers) at 10.am followed by Kirtan (hymns) and then short speeches from special guests followed by Langar (communal lunch) at 1.30pm The rest of the day will consist of activities for the kids and a tour of the school. Bhai Sahib Rama Singh Ji (saint of southall) had the true light of Waheguru shining brightly in him and was a true Khalsa. Sangat never thought of him as old , he was forever young , always smiling. He started the Waheguru kirtan programmes at 4am in southall and 5.30 am and wednesday evening simran programmes at hounslow (Now at Sikh Missionary Society, Southall). He got up in the early hours and did his amritvela, then made his way to southall and hounslow every morning. Just to see him in the sangat was SO inspiring. He was always at the kids camps - a beacon of light to all that were in darkness. Bhai Sahib Rama Singh Ji would always recommend to everyone he met to do ‘joria dee seva’ to clean the sangats shoes, to be humble. If anyone wants to show love for Bhai Sahib Rama Singh Ji, then that would have been his request - do joria dee seva , find humility and naam simran , make your life successful, have the true light of the Khalsa shining bright in you. http://www.gsikhyouth.com/?p=88

Vaheguru ji ka khalsa, Vaheguru ji ke fateh Pyare jio, most of the sangat are aware that a £7 million Khalsa Primary School is being built in Slough. The building is now complete and the school will open in September. However before the start of its first school year, the sevadaars considered to start the school in the best possible fashion and have arranged a sikh youth camp on the premises. It will happen from Monday 6th August to Friday 10th August, from 9am to 3pm. The camp is open for children from 5 -16+years old. There will be a special group for parents and elders aswell, to learn about Gursikhi. The camp is from the youth, for the youth. All the talks and education will be in English by UK born Gursikhs. Experienced sevadaars and speakers will be coming from across the country. For the adult classes, knowledgeable Gursikhs are available for those who wish to go deeper into Gurbani. If your child or relatives live in the areas of slough and surrounding, such as Southall, Hounslow, Reading, etc. Then please inform them of this camp, which is an excellent opportunity for children to spend 5 days of their summer holiday with their Guru, Sahib Siri Guru Granth sahib ji, and youth sangat. A three-year-old little girl called Madeleine was on holiday at a Portuguese holiday resort from where she was abducted. Madeleine has been missing since the 5th of May.
