This is an interesting thread. Sikhs in the west or even say Sikhs outside India have  few options which aren't mutually exclusive. Like the Jews our longer term goal should be the creation of a Sikh state because no matter where you move to you will always be under the control of the government of that country. Today the Jews are probably in the best position of all the inhabitants of the west because when the proverbial hits the fan they have a country to flee to and feel safe. Already many Jews from France and Sweden and other western country have already moved to Israel. They have an concept called 'Aliya' or going up which is what Jews call moving to Israel.  Many of those Jews who haven't moved  to Israel have bought property there so that when the worst happens they have somewhere to live in Israel.

If Sikhs move to a country like Madagascar, although this is a Christian county, it is still close to hot spots where Islamic countries and Islamic terrorist movements exist. Mozambique and Congo were once far from Islamic influence and today they have active Islamic terrorist movements. Also moving to third world countries have their own problems because no doubt if Sikhs moved to an area then they would have a much higher standard of living then the native population and this will cause resentment. We have the example of countries like Uganda where the Asians were thrown out and had to leave their wealth and properties behind and with only a few pounds in their pockets. So moving to a third world country is an option fraught with dangers.

A better option is to move to a western country which does not have a very big Muslim population and where the government is aware of the threat posed by unrestricted Muslim immigration. Australia probably has the best options for Sikhs. It is a vast land and in some places the land is very cheap and if a some Sikhs want to move there they are at least under a western government and not a third world one. There are lots of farms such a dairy or agricultural which can be bought and which can be worked to earn a living. There is already a Sikh community in a place called Woolgooga where there are many banana plantations. The community seems more traditional and has been there for many decades. Here are some videos of the community in 1984

In Australia you can live a pioneer life the further you go into the outback and yet still be close to modern facilities a few hours away. The only downside will be that you will pick up the Australian accent where every sentence ends in a question!

Another option could be to get together with a number of Sikh families and buy an island somewhere. Mel Gibson bought an Island close to Fiji which is a freehold property so he is pretty much independent of any government and he paid about $15 million in 2004.

The island is about 22 sq kms so it's quite large but I don't know whether they have any hurricanes or tornadoes. Although I'm sure if there was a tornado on the Island, Khalsa Aid will not doubt rush their volunteers there to start up a langar for Mel Gibson!

Australia has one of the most expensive property prices in the world. The average price of a house in Sydney is 600k GBP.

    Same as Canada.

I think the better place is New Zealand, or South America. Chile has a small local convert of Sikhs 3HO types but they are respected by locals.

I went to Chile in full kes and distaar. I get more 'looks' in the UK than in Chile.
