they sang this shabad on the first night!!! beautiful

and i spoke to one of the sewadaars and he said the audio and pics are being sorted out and they might bring out a little teaser in a few days :TH: cant wait

  2. I heard a story a while back about a Singh who asked Dhan Guru Gobind Singh Ji "when will the Khalsa rule" and Maharaj replied whilst pointing at two trees "when the shorter tree outgrows the bigger tree the Khalsa will rule"

the Singh telling that story also said that the smaller tree is not that far behind now...

does anyone know more about this sakhi.... it really got me happy :D

  3. by my understanding rakri is where a boy says to his sister i will protect you... but in sikhi singhs are meant to protect there sisters thats why we were given the name Singh...

    bul chuck maaf

  4. today its the norm for guys to wear patkeh and trim breads and girls to have layers and streaks in their hair

BUT JUST COS ITS THE NORM DONT MANKE IT RITE hanna?

    that is sooo rite

and that sound clip shows it isnt a new thing cos i remember hearing that quitee a few years ago... and i know people who say they cut their beard because of fashion... is fashion taking over?

  5. 1.I find it quite INSULTING that you refer to such people as "SINGH".BHai Taru SIngh had to sacrifice his khopree to not have his hair removed. He was a true SIngh of Guru Gobind SIngh Sahib Maharaj. How can you classify such people as Singhs then?

2.Whatever breed of humans they are, they are not Sikhs neither are they singh's of Dasam Pita jee.

    BOLE SO NIHAAAAL!!!!

  6. ok well here's a few basic things to notice.

    1. dont buy a ready made one. look at all the part individually and them ask them to put it together. first thing to look for in parts is the patrey(skins). flip em upside down, and try to find "jor" (small pieces glued together) in em (look underneath the layers on the side). for a professional patra, it should be one piece, this goes for both duggi and chathu. badria (straps) are ususaly ok. mouth of the bhandey should be a nice even circle

    2. duggi should be atleast around 2kg's. dont buy a hard patra make sure its easy to play

    3. chathu -> bhanda -> closer to a perfect circle, the better. it makes an angle from bottom to the top (bottom is wide, top is smaller) this angle should be noticeable (i forget the exact degrees now).

once u've picked up the parts, ask em to assemble. then when u goto pick it up, check these out.

    1. for both duggi and chathu, look at the bottom, there is a little "ring" there where all the straps go thru. make sure that ring is sitting in the middle and is a fairly even circle.

    2. straps in general should be evenly spaced out

    3. lastly, this is the best part, play it

oh and get em to tune the tabla to various sa's on vaja, for example, pehla kala, dooja kala. this range would depend on what kind of patra u buy

did i confuse you ?

naa i understand and sitargirl ive been wanting a new one for a while and this is a good excuse to get one
