I am pleased to announce that on the 24th April 2010 5.30pm-9pm, The Woolwich Sikh Youth are holding an ATAM RAAS YOUTH KIRTAN DIVAAN.

This is a first time event, and we need all the support we can get.

5.30-6pm: Reheraas

6pm-8.45pm: Kirtan by talented young kirtaniay from all corners of the UK.

The entire divaan seva duties are going to be done by youngsters. The aim of the event is to bring togther all youngsters- locally and nationally, in order to build EKTA. I request all to attend the divaan.

Seva opportunites are still avaliable and those who wish to take part, please do not hesitate to contact me.

giani Gurbachan singh is the most amazing persopn i have ever met in my life. he stayed with us during his visit to england last year.

i feel that he will make a excellent jathedar of the akal thakat. many of you may have met him during his visits to various gurdwaras and will have whitnessed his uniqueness- seriously down to earth.

his appointment to the seat of jathedar of the akal takat brings so much happiness to my heart.

he is a great katha kari with such excellent knowledge.

i appologise as bhai saab was not on television - it may have been due to his health, last time he was unable to do a duty becuase of his high blood pressure

i havnt herd any news yet so i wud advise that u keep an eye out for him 2moro mornin as he may still b doing the morning 7-8 BILAVAL duty

bhai balbir singh jee will be on alpha punjabi doin the sordar kitan seva on the 29th october 2007

he will then on the following mornin b doin the bilaval seva on the 30th of oct 2007

well there are those who truly stick by the prescriptions of the guru ji and sing bani the way its meant to be sung

for e.g

the shubd

'rudro mann harr rango lorray'- should be sung in the raag toddi.

but there are thsoe who sing bani in filmy tunes. i have herd many kirtanis or raagis sing bani in filmy tune sung byu mh raffi etc.

i gotta say tho the best raagis are those as i described above whom sing bani as prescribed by the gurus- bhai balbir singh jee is an excellent example of those.
