I'm in school and wouldn't be able to physically meet a teacher unless it's over the summer back home in Central California (even then I don't think there would be a teacher in that area I could meet a teacher at all).I saw a course that teaches how to play and you can do it on your own with DVD instructions but I have no prior knowledge so I don't know whether it would be possible.
