I am from Punjab and have taken admission into a big University in the US. I got a scholarship from various universities but came here. They took away my scholarship. Instead of believing in my capabilities they left me alone to my plight fully knowing my career will be destroyed if I quit the program. Just recently I have had to pay a big bill in order to get the work permit. I have got a job for 3 months too. Again instead of encouraging and supporting me fully knowing that somehow I am fighting difficult circumstances to get to my goal. They are telling me to cut my job tenure by 1 week. They have made exceptions for local students who take leaves for marriage, honeymoon, etc but in my case they are always finding something wrong. Now that I have paid my bills by picking up a loan, they are now asking me when will I pay for the next semester. I know I will do something and make ends meet. I have been trying my best in such circumstances. I can fight adversity but it gets to me if someone is always pulling me up something and hounding me like this. I feel harassed and I feel I am going to get a nervous breakdown.
