New Year, New Program: For the next 8 weeks the Gurdwara Sahib is pleased to have partnered up with the RCMP and local Police to present weekly educational events for children and parents on preventative measures to keep our children safe and away from bad habits and dangerous people. Sunday October 26th - the Gurdwara Sahib will be holding an extended Youth Darbar - featuring Pumpkin Carving and Campfire Sakhi and treats for kids and parents. On Saturday, August 16th Gurdwara Sahib Sukh Sagar will be taking a Youth Field Trip to Stanley Park for a fun-filled day of games, discussion and picnic from 10:00am-5:00pm. Younger children are welcome if accompanied by a parent/guardian. Summer Youth Campfire starts on Friday July 4th. Each Friday in July - come experience the Campfire as kids enjoy ice cream and learn Sikh Sakhi, history and Gurmat Vichaar. Internships Summer 2014 Gurdwara Sahib Sukh Sagar is expanding our programs and services and is for the second year in a row, looking for students for Paid Summer Internships from June to August 2014. Internship Categories: - Seniors Programs and Services - Youth Programs and Services Internship Conditions: a. You must be a student between 19 and 30 years of age. b. Must have been registered as a full-time student during 2013-2014 academic year. c. You must intend to return to school on a full-time basis during the next academic year. d. You are a student in a secondary, post-secondary, vocational or technical program. e. You are a Canadian Citizen or permanent resident. f. You must be available for at least 30 hours per week from June to August 31st 2014. g. Must be a self starter and available to work remotely and be available for onsite meetings in New Westminster, B.C. h. Application deadline is June 15th 2014.
