Bhai Dilbagh & Gulbagh Singh are 2 gems from our history of classical kirtan performers. Their family have a great history behind them. During time of Sri Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji there was a Muslim family very talented in raag but living in poverty. They were surviving on donations people gave after hearing their music. Time came that they received darshan of 6th Guru Ji. After hearing of their poverty Guru Sahib provided a written copy of Asa Di Vaar and asked them to come and sing this bani the following morning. The family’s faith was such they went and memorised the bani then spent whole night practicing. After they performed kirtan, Guru Sahib gave bachan that as long as you keep singing Gurbani heaps of money will be left in-front of you! Kirtan continued down the generations, recent generation were Bhai Dilbagh & Gulbagh Singh. (One of the current generation is Bhai Davinder Singh Bodal).
