  1. I'm just worried that now the paramilitary troops are being deployed we'll be facing the whole 'fake encounters' situation again. As for the political side of things, I think it's pretty obvious what is fuelling this. The mainstram Indian media (mostly NDTV in this respect) is taking the view that it is all down to the akalis. According to them those aren't just angry Sikhs protesting against the deras, it's Akalis Vs Dera. Ridiculous. Anyway, this is probably just another congress ploy to get the akalis out, and I think I read somewhere that this dera leader was previously a congress member. At least now the whole of India can see that there are still Sikhs out there. They can never really eradicate us.
  2. This is yet another example of the heinously biased Indian media. I have been watching Star News ever since this Dera stuff broke out, and it's getting more biased by the minute. They are giving these dera people a voice to insult us but the Sikhs are not getting to say why they are so angry. The media have gleefully jumped on this as it is another occasion to call us 'Aathankvaadi.' They can show the Sikhs rioting but they can't tell people why they are rioting. The sad thing is, if a peaceful protest had been done, it wouldn't be on the news and nobody would care. it's a catch-22 situation. Now if this dera fool is killed he'll be made into a martyr. If he wanted to start a new religion, why did he have to hijack and inult so many sikh principles? Of course, it goes without saying that if Hinduism was attacked in this way, and the rhastri sena decided to take to the streets, the Indian media would be fully supportive of them and would demonise whoever insulted Hinduism. Such hypocrisy and corruption is so rife in modern India, and it makes me wonder when I will actually be able to call it a truly democratic country. The worst thing is that now dirty politics has been dragged into it.
  3. Oh my God, I too have been shocked and appalled by the audacity and heresy of this haramzada. The worst thing is that yet again the Indian media have chosen to demonize the Sikhs and side with this b***rd. How dare he???!!!! Has anyone seen what Star news have been showing? 'Panth ki fasaad' they call it. What did the panth do?! It's not our fault. God knows maybe this kutha has been funded by the corrupt government, yet another attempt to ridicule Sikhi and show the world. they are just trying to divide us. (By the way, why must they feel so threatened by us, when we're only about 2% of the Indian population? Why have they got to be scared of us, we who have historically defended India and it's people? Now that's a question that I've always wanted to know the answer to.) Anyway this Ram Rahim guy was on Star news, and all he had to say for himself was roughly (in hindi) : 'it's not like i'm stirring the amrit with a khanda' (something along the lines of 'meney koi shastr to nahey chalaya') He apparently wants to unite Sikhs, Hindus and Muslims- yeah right! He's doing just the opposite. If he wants to create some new religion, why must he dress up as Guru Gobind Singh Ji and use the rite of taking amrit? Even the name 'Dera Sacha Sauda' is reminiscent of Sikhism, as the concept of 'Sacha Sauda' was preached by Guru Nanak Dev Ji. The question now is how to deal with this. P.S sorry for my bad language but I'm furious at the moment.
