  1. Check out Golden Temple Atta. These guys use the name and picture of "Golden Temple" on their Attaa bags, but on their TV commercials they show non-Sikh families enjoying the Attaa. Seems to me that they think people with a Sikh appearance are not good enough for their commercias yet they want to use Sikhism to sell their product.

  2. Jujharoo Jee, sorry if I offended anybody. Offending wasn’t my intent. I just wrote my opinion on the issue because a lot of people think a particular way of doing things is right solely because they believe that Taksal was started by Guru Gobind Singh Jee. I respect that, but you shouldn’t feel offended if someone tries to prove otherwise. Jujharoo Jee you cannot expect everyone to comply with the Taksal’s beliefs, and be offended if they state it in words. If I don’t believe in eating meat, does that mean I shouldn’t express my views just because it might offend SGPC, or Nihang Singhs?

Also Jujharoo Jee, I think people are after the wrong things. Lineage is good, but it’s not everything. You or anyone shouldn’t be after the Taksal because of its lineage, but because of the work it has done. In the end that’s what counts. Look at the Buddha Dal Nihangs, they have lineage, yet a lot of their practices are against Sikh beliefs (which if you want I can write). That proves lineage isn’t everything. Taksal does not have to fabricate its lineage in order to express its greatness. Its greatness is in its actions.

As for Rehraas Sahib, I think Taksals Rehraas Sahib is good. They read more bani, and that is of course better then reading less bani.

Anan Jee, I don’t hate Taksal. Just b

ecause I don’t believe in all the opinions expressed by a particular group doesn’t mean I hate it. Most of the Panth does not follow or even agree with ALL the views of the Taksal, does that mean they hate Taksal? No it doesn’t, it just means they hold a separate opinion. On the Sikh awareness forum, they had a thread doubting Taksal’s lineage. If I had hated Taksal, I would have contributed in that thread. But I didn’t because I know most of the people on that forum would just use my information against Taksal because that forum is full of people who hate panthic groups like Taksal and AKJ. And I would have just fueled their hate.

  3. Sorry for the late reply. Just go to Google and type "Antique Swords" or "Antique weapons". You will see many many sites that sell puraatan Shastars from India, Middle East and my favorite Japan. But the Japanese weapons are expensive compared to the rest of the world because of the high quality blade of the Japanese Katana. But you’ll find loads of Indian, Middle Eastern, Pathan weapons.

  4. “Damdami Taksal was set up by Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji Himself.  So at one point or another, the 'right' Maryada was being followed. I believe that the Maryada which has been passed down from all the way since Shaheed Baba Deep Singh Ji was Jathedar, has been kept the same.”

Actually Bhai Surry Singh Jee, the present Taksal of Mehta is not the same one that Baba Deep Singh Jee was the Jathadar of. The Taksal of Baba Deep Singh Jee died off with Baba Gurbaksh Singh Jee. Please visit this thread for more information of what I mean:

  5. I could be wrong, but I don’t think the Reheraas Sahib contained in Taksali Gutkaas is in Dasam Granth. Besides I think the Reheraas Sahib done in most SGPC controlled Gurdwaras is the Panthic one we find in most Gutkaas. But I guess, the more bani the better for ones jeevan.

  6. For Sikhs, Sikhi was more important than Desh. If Desh was more important than Sikhi, why didn’t the millions of Sikhs simply convert to Islam in 1947 in order the stay in their Desh (then becoming Pakistan) where they had been living for thousands of years? Nearly 50% of the Sikh population lived in Pakistan before partition when India was united. So realistically, Sunny Deol should have beaten up Amrish Puri when he demanded Sunny to convert to Islam, because that is how Sikhs were back in 47.

  7. Brar was a traitor to his own people. Even though he was a Mona, but still he should have had some shame when attacking Darbar Sahib. The guy was just chosen so Indira can show the world that “see! Even Sikh commanding officers are fighting against Bhindrawala”. Since they couldn’t find a Keshadari Sikh officer, they found this ignored third class officer to lead the charge against his own people only because he belonged to a Punjabi Sikh background. Interestingly Sant Jarnail Singh Jee was also a “Brar”. So Brar vs Brar.

  8. He wasn’t a low caste boy. Jasse was a Jatti, and Mittoo was also a Jat, so they belonged to the same caste. People give many reasons as to why the parents killed Jasse and tried to kill mittoo. Amongst them are:

-Mittoo belongs to the same Pend as Jasse’s mother’s Pend. It is considered Taboo and even punishable by death amongst certain castes to marry a girl from the same pend.

-Mittoo was a poor boy with very little or no land. While Jasse came from a rich family. So the parents felt it was against their honor for Jasse to marry a poor boy. So they felt it was necessary to satisfy their honor by taking revenge.

The CBC and NBC for some strange twisted reason tried to link Jasse's murder to the Sikh religion and the Khalistani movement. Goray are very strange creatures. Jasse’s perents are not even Khalistani, infact they are known to be very anti-khalistani. They are Nanaksaris. Yet these Goray tried to imply that the murder happened because they are “Sikhs” and also Khalistanis. What a laugh.

  9. Bhagat Kabeer ji, Bhagat Ravidass ji, Bhagat Fareed ji, ....... Need I say more?

Khalsa Jee it’s interesting you mentioned this. They have an similar topic concerning this going on in the Tapoban forum in which it is argued that the Bhagats were all contemporaries and Sikhs of Guru Nanak Dev Jee. The link is:

    http://www.tapoban.org/phorum/read.ppa?f=1...1&i=8841&t=8841

I’m convinced after reading that thread that the Bhagats were infact Sikhs and had met Guru Nanak Dev Jee. It makes perfect sense once you read the facts on that thread.

  10. Veer Khalsa Jee, I don’t think a person of any religion can go to Sachkhand. To begin with their goals are all separate.

    Sikh’s goal is Sachkhand

Muslim’s goal is Janat (with many hoors, a big mansion etc).

Hindu has a number of different goals.

    -Vaishnava Hindu’s goal is “Vaikunth”.

-Shaivate Hindu’s goal is “Kelaash Parbat”.

-Average Hindu wants swarag (the abode of Inder Dev).

-Some Hindu’s want Brahmpuri, which is the abode of Brahma.

I don’t see how a Muslim, Hindu, Christian, Jew etc all of whom have different goals can get Sachkhand, and that too without getting Naam. I think that we have made many Gurmukhi terms like Brahmgiani, Sachkhand, Sant very cheep. We just award these terms to every Tom, <admin-profanity filter activated>, and Harry out there without thinking whether or not that person deserves these terms.

  11. He's a congress member, kursi passaye di lalch!

Actually Manmohan Singh was a very wealthy crore pati even before entering politics. The man made crores in real-estate. He has so much money that he symbolically takes only a few rupees as a MP. He’s practically working for free! He’s a self made man. Unlike other Indian politicians, he made his money legally. So I don’t think money is a factor. Besides, people say this guy is a real genius. I don’t doubt he could solves Indias economic problems, but lets see how he deals with issues like Babri Masjid, Kashmir, rising of Hindutwa especially in Gujarat etc.

  12. "Gill, sikhi does not believe in converting people into sikhi. our gurus taught if ur hindu be a good hindu, if ur muslim be a good muslim, if ur christian be a good christian .... and if ur sikh, be the best sikh as possible"

WHere did the Gurus say that? when GUru Nanak Dev Jee went on Udasis to far off places such as Banaras, Mecca, and Baghdad it was to do teach people about Gurmat. When Guru Gobind SIngh Jee created the Khalsa, it was to show us a better way to Vaheguru.
