The nine treasures and the eighteen spiritual powers of the Siddhas follow him, who keeps the Lord enshrined in his heart. Without the True Guru, the Name is not found; understand this, and reflect upon it. O Nanak, through perfect good destiny, one meets the True Guru, and finds peace, throughout the four ages. ||1|| Third Mehl: Whether he is young or old, the self-willed manmukh cannot escape hunger and thirst. The Gurmukhs are imbued with the Word of the Shabad; they are at peace, having lost their self-conceit. They are satisfied and satiated within; they never feel hungry again. Page 650 O Nanak, whatever the Gurmukhs do is acceptable; they remain lovingly absorbed in the Naam, the Name of the Lord. ||2|| Pauree: I am a sacrifice to those Sikhs who are Gurmukhs. I behold the Blessed Vision, the Darshan of those who meditate on the Lord's Name. Listening to the Kirtan of the Lord's Praises, I contemplate His virtues; I write His Praises on the fabric of my mind. I praise the Lord's Name with love, and eradicate all my sins. Blessed, blessed and beauteous is that body and place, where my Guru places His feet. ||19|| ਪਦ ਬਿੰਦੈ—ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ। ਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ—ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ। ਬ੍ਰਹਮਤੁ—ਬ੍ਰਾਹਮਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਲੱਛਣ। ਏਕ ਸਬਦਿ—ਕੇਵਲ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਵਿਚ। ਕਰਿ—ਕਰ ਕੇ। ਸੀਤਲੁ—ਠੰਡੇ, ਸ਼ਾਂਤ, ਸੰਤੋਖੀ। ਮਨਮੁਖ—ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਦੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਤੁਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ। ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ—ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਹੁਕਮ ਵਿਚ ਤੁਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ। ਪਦ ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤਿ—ਰੱਜ, ਰਜੇਵਾਂ। ਜਿ—ਜੋ ਕੁਝ। ਪਦ ਰਵਾ—ਉਚਾਰਾਂ। ਕਿਲਵਿਖ—ਪਾਪ। ਕ੍ਰਿਖਾ—ਨਾਸ ਕਰ ਦਿਆਂ। ਵਿਖਾ—ਕਦਮ, ਪੈਰ। ਅਰਥ:- ਜੋ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਕੇਵਲ ਗੁਰ-ਸ਼ਬਦ ਵਿਚ ਬ੍ਰਿਤੀ ਜੋੜ ਕੇ ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਨੂੰ ਪਛਾਣੇ, ਉਸ ਦਾ ਬ੍ਰਹਮਣ-ਪੁਣਾ ਬਣਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ; ਜੋ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਹਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਵਸਾਏ, ਨੌ ਨਿਧੀਆਂ ਤੇ ਅਠਾਰਹ ਸਿੱਧੀਆਂ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਮਗਰ ਲੱਗੀਆਂ ਫਿਰਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ। ਵਿਚਾਰ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਸਮਝੋ, ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਨਾਮ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਿਲਦਾ, ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਪੂਰੇ ਭਾਗਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਮਿਲੇ ਉਹ ਚਹੁੰਆਂ ਜੁਗਾਂ ਵਿਚ (ਭਾਵ, ਸਦਾ) ਸੁਖ ਪਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।1। ਜਵਾਨ ਹੋਵੇ ਭਾਵੇਂ ਬੁੱਢਾ—ਮਨਮੁਖ ਦੀ ਤ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨਾ ਭੁੱਖ ਦੂਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦੀ, ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸਨਮੁਖ ਹੋਏ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਵਿਚ ਰੱਤੇ ਹੋਣ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਤੇ ਅਹੰਕਾਰ ਗਵਾ ਕੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ ਸੰਤੋਖੀ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ। (ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ) ਹਿਰਦਾ ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤੀ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਸੰਤੋਖੀ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤੇ ਫਿਰ (ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੀ) ਭੁੱਖ ਨਹੀਂ ਲੱਗਦੀ। ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਗੁਰਮੁਖ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਕਬੂਲ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਉਹ ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਬ੍ਰਿਤੀ ਜੋੜੀ ਰੱਖਦੇ ਹਨ।2। ਜੋ ਸਿੱਖ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸਨਮੁਖ ਹਨ, ਮੈਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਸਦਕੇ ਹਾਂ। ਜੋ ਹਰੀ-ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਦੇ ਹਨ (ਜੀ ਚਾਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ) ਮੈਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਕਰਾਂ, (ਉਹਨਾਂ ਪਾਸੋਂ) ਕੀਰਤਨ ਸੁਣ ਕੇ ਹਰੀ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵਾਂ ਤੇ ਹਰੀ-ਜਸ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਉੱਕਰ ਲਵਾਂ, ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਨਾਲ ਹਰੀ-ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ ਕਰਾਂ ਤੇ (ਆਪਣੇ) ਸਾਰੇ ਪਾਪ ਕੱਟ ਦਿਆਂ। ਉਹ ਸਰੀਰ-ਥਾਂ ਧੰਨ ਹੈ, ਸੁੰਦਰ ਹੈ ਜਿਥੇ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਪੈਰ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ (ਭਾਵ, ਆ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ)। 19। अर्थ :- जो मनुख केवल गुर-शब्द में वृती जोड़ के ब्रह्म को पहचाने, उस का ब्रह्मण-पन बना रहता है; जो मनुख हरि को हृदय में वसाए, नौ निधीआँ और अठारह सिधीआँ उस के पीछे घुमती हैं । विचार कर के समझो, सतिगुरु के बिना नाम नहीं मिलता, हे नानक ! पूरे किस्मत के साथ जिस को सतिगुरु मिले वह चारों युगों में (भावार्थ, सदा) सुख पाता है ।1 । जवान हो चाहे बुढा-मनमुख की तृष्णा भूख दूर नहीं होती, सतिगुरु के सनमुख हुए मनुख शब्द में रंगे हों कर के और अहंकार गँवा के अंदर से संतोखी होते हैं । (उन का) हृदय तृप्ति के कारण संतोखी होता है , और फिर (उनको माया की) भूख नहीं लगती । हे नानक ! गुरमुख मनुख जो कुछ करते हैं, वह कबूल होता है , क्योंकि वह नाम में वृती जोड़ी रखते हैं ।2। जो सिक्ख सतिगुरु के सनमुख हैं, मैं उन से सदके हूँ । जो हरि-नाम सिमरते हैं (जी चाहता है ) मैं उन का दर्शन करू, (उनसे) कीर्तन सुन के हरि के गुण गाऊं और हरि-जस मन में उकेर लूं, प्रेम के साथ हरि-नाम की सिफ़त करू और (अपने) सारे पाप काट दूँ । वह शरीर-जगह धन्य है, सुंदर है जहाँ प्यारा सतिगुरु पैर रखता है (भावार्थ, आ बसता है) ।19 । ???????????????????????? ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਕਾ ਖਾਲਸਾ !! ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਕੀ ਫਤਹਿ !!

Among the 63 new soldiers, what caught everyone's attention was a 23-year-old white man wearing a green turban and smartly turned out with a light brown beard. The name of this young white man is Louis Singh Khalsa, who is a baptised Sikh. His English name is Louis Talbot.
