I've recently started a new job and I'm looking for a room to rent out in cambridge. At the moment I'm driving down everyday and it's costing me alot of money on petrol. I know in cambridge there isn't much of a sikh population and im not sure about any gurdwara there??? I was wondering if any sangat living in cambridge can shed some light on this for me. Also if any of the sangat knows any sikh families looking to rent out a room or any singh's looking for a room mate in cambridge, that would be great. I know there are many rooms available to rent in cambridge but most of these a goray offering the rooms, it would be nice to have some sikh sangat around me.

    Anyone please help :|

is is just me or has anyone else noticed how the elderly, specifcally men are giving up their dastaars to wear cap. Over the course of a few weeks i've seen many elderly folks wearing patka with caps on top. I'm not talking about people that have come from india but people that have lived their lives in UK, It upsets me to this as what kind of example is that setting to the youth......

The reasons they have are just silly. I asked this individual who was wearing a cap and said fateh to me, "where is your dastaar" his excuse was I only wear it to the gurdwara.......... :omg: .

Has anyone else noticed this trend??

I wanted sangat's on this. Basically I went to the guru ghar and I had a really strong urge to do chaur sahib. I was blessesd buy guru sahib and after about an hour the granthi singh came to me and asked me to do Chaur Sahib seva. I had been doing seva literally only for 5 min when another singh comes in to the darbar does mata tek and asks me if he could Chair Sahib seva. I've always believed if someone asks for seva in the guru ghar should never say no. So i let the singh do seva and waited patiently for about half an hour. After half an hour I went to do seva again and went up to the singh and asked politely if I can do seva. His reply was "you was just doing seva before me" and he stayed quite for a while. He let me do the seva but he wasn't happy about it.

My question is did i do something wrong by taking the seva from the singh. Im feeling upset about it coz I may have hurt his feelings.I know that this singh does alot of paath in the guru ghar and comes to the gurdwara everyday. I'm worried I am have commtited big paap by doing this.

  5. Has it really become that bad now, that sikhs need to go and ask other religons for help. When guru ji was in human form people use to come to sikhs to protect their honour. The only reason were facing all these difficulty is because we have broken away from gurbani and are more concerned about gathering wealth, flashy cars znd big houses(including me). Yes we do need these things but sikhi should always come first. I know this is easier said then done but I guarantee if all the panth comes together under the kesri nishaan sahib and trully live breathe and eat sikhi we will be unstoppable and all the problems we are facing as a panth won't seem like as if its like climbing a mountain.

  6. Thank you all for your replies. The funny thing is that is exactly the thought I had in my mind when I first thought about joining the army. Im blessed enough to be in guru ji's fauj should i really be joining the british army :unsure2:

Im just really confused at the moment as most of the people on here are sugesting i shouldn't..............

I dont really get what you mean by that,anyway.................

when i uninstalled i tunes of my computer and reinstalled, the list on itunes was all gone, and when i plugged in my ipod it said something like" this ipod is assciated with another playlist do u want to be uodate to the new playlist" i.e the empty list you should have when you unistall itunes and install it again. This should clear all the tracks of your ipod.

or you could just delete the tracks one by one of you ipod.
