yeah very true man. every once in a while one of these come on this forum. he calls himself punjabi but haven't written anything in favor of punjab. all the big corporations are in other states. Even if Amrinder is doing something but it is for Punjab. He is doing it to win support of the Sikhs. Sikhs have seen badal, tohra, talwandi, barnala, and many others who made promises but broke them all. Not a single person has tried to mention about 84 and all the prisoners in jails since 84. If someone talks like congress and BJP and surely he supports them. Some of the facts.

The government put 197 projects in Maharashtar, 136 in Gujrat, 114 in Uttar Pradesh and only 19 in Punjab. In total budget of 15,668 crore (1 crore = 10 million) rupees the government gave only 345 crore to Punjab. When it comes down to economic growth Punjab is always the last to get anything.

The government has left out nothing to make Punjab starve and make it dependent of Hindu government. Most fertilizers in India are used by Punjab but government put the mills that produce fertilizers in other states that do not even use 3% of it. Punjab uses tractors the most but factories are setup in Tamilnadu and Haryana. Sikhs have to buy tractors at higher costs. Punjab produces cotton crops for which Sikhs are not paid the fair price and government runs factories in other states like Ahmdabad (Gujrat) using cotton produced in Punjab. If factories in other states can be run using cotton produced in Punjab then why can’t these factories be setup in Punjab? It is possible but brutal government won’t allow it.

According to the reports 60% of the farmers are in debt in Punjab but only 40% in Haryana. It i

s very sad that banks in Punjab do not give loans to Sikh farmers. Sikhs have to get loans from brokers or loan commissioners who charge anywhere from 24% to 36% interest rate. In 1997 about 25,000 crore rupees just sat in the banks for nothing. It could have been given to farmers on 10 or 12% interest rate. The question arises that why wouldn’t the government do it? If you think clearly the answer becomes very obvious. The only reason is that the government wants to keep Sikhs as slaves in India and this is possible if they are in so much debt that they cannot even pay back.

Situations may be different now and yes time has changed but injustice, oppression and julam on Sikhs and Punjab has not changed. There is no point in debate. SIkhs have declared Khalistan in 1987 and Sikhs are determined to get free Khalistan. We are called criminals and according to the government our biggest crime is: We wear turbans, follow Guru Gobind Singh Ji and call ourselves SIKHS.

okay i will state it again. A state has total control over the water that flows through it whether it be punjab or himachal. If rivers flow through Punjab then it cannot be given to other states for free.

Punjab does not have the raw materials needed to make tractors and these would all have to be imported form other states.

Most of the youth get no jobs after getting BS or MS degree. Sikhs are given no jobs. you ever wonder about that? i don't think so. With or without education there is no future for Sikhs in India. Punjab must have total control over the water that flows through the state. This is a federal law. It is up to Punjab's govt. to decide who gets how much water. Punjab owns it not other states. yes, Punjab does get some stuff from other states but not for free. Punjab buys it so other states have to pay for the water if they want it. Other states blocking rails and other stuff would be illegal and totally stupid. Nothing is for free. They want water then buy it. Just on a note: Punjab uses more tractors and fertilizers than any other states but the factories that make these things are not in Punjab. So Punjab has to pay for it. If these factories were in Punjab there would be more jobs for people and more benefits to Punjab. This is all done to weaken the Punjab. India is the only country that has issues over states water. Singh Ji, no one knows is that bibi is doing any bad things. she doesn't want to take amrit yet but that doesn't mean she can't wear dastar or practice sikhi. As many have stated before many people drink and smoke and wear puggs so where is the petition against them? Now, if she does do bad things then she should not wear dastar because it gives bad name to Sikhi. Sadh Sangat Ji, while listening to katha by Maan Singh Jhour I found out that Bhai Mati Das Ji and Bhai Sati Das Ji were total 12 brothers and 10 were shaheeds. Two got Shaheedi with Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji and other 8 became shaheed during the time of Tenth Nanak Guru Gobind Singh Ji. Does anyone know about this? I would like to know their names and how they got shaheedi and where? if anyone has information about this please post it. I am unable to find any information on other 10 borthers of Bhai Sahibs. Bhai Dyal Das Ji

Bhai Dyal Das was another of the Sikhs who had been arrested along with Guru Tegh Bahadur, and taken to Delhi. Like his companions, Bhai Dyal Das was also arrested, chained and imprisoned in the Kotwali Delhi. After having martyred Bhai Mati Das, the qazis turned to Bhai Dyal Das. They led him to the spot where Bhai Mati Das had been sawn into two. He was told to see what had happened to his companion. He was advised to be wiser. He was told of joys and pleasures he could enjoy by accepting Islam. He was told what would happen to him if he refused to become a Muslim. Bhai Dyal Das heard all this. He did not feel nervous or afraid. He remained firm in his resolve. Then he said, 'My misguided friends, do you think that you have killed my brother, Bhai Mati Das ? You are mistaken. You have not killed him. You have given him ever lasting life. He has become immortal. He will live forever in the hearts of men. he will be source of inspiration to others. Many like him will rise and follow his example. A time will come when you and your emperor will be no more, but Bhai Mati Das will be yet alive. I will not give up my faith. The pleasure which you offer have no charm for me. The tortures which you have threaten me have no terrors for me. Be quick. Send me to where my brother, Bhai Mati Das, has gone to live forever in the lap of the Lord.'

It is a calender of Sikh Quam. We are a separate nation and must have a separate calender also. First, Sikhs used to celebrate everything according to bikarmi calnder, named after a hindu king Bikaramajeet. Now, Sikhs have Nanakshahi calender which is according to Sikh beliefs and months. Although it is not a perfect calender but all jathebandis should work together to resolve any issues and make it a complete panthik calender. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh

When Nanakshai calender was not yet published Jathedar asked everyone to come and discuss the matter with him. Unfortunately, no taksaals or any jatha went to discuss. Now they don't support it. Most of the Sikhs have tendency to take steps after things are done. When religious ban was being discussed in France hardly any Sikh spoke out and now the results are in front of us. We need to learn from this and be careful in the future.

lets start with Bhai Sukhdev Singh Ji Sukha and Bhai Harjinder Singh Ji Jinda. everybody else should post.

Bhai Manee Singh decided once to separate Guru Granth Sahib jee (some say this means that he changed the order of the baaNee and others say this means he made gutkaas and pothees. There is a Granth in Delhi attributed to Bhai Manee Singh in which the baaNee is divided not according to raag, but according to each Guru and then according to each Bhagat so this seems most likely the mistake that was made.) The sangat heard of this and was outraged and said that just like Bhai Manee Singh has cut the baaNee apart, he too should be cut to pieces for his mistake. They told Bhai Sahib, "Bhai Manee Singh! You too will be cut apart like this!".

Bhai Sahib was a great Gursikh with so much Naam Simran. I find this piece of story fake. I think Bhai Sahib became Shaheed because he refused to pay for Diwali. A great Gursikh like him insulting Gurbani is very hard to believe.

this discussion is actually pretty stupid. many have said that naam simran is for everyone. Bhai Gurdas is openly said "Waheguru Gurmantar Hai Japp Haumai Koee" and "Pratham Rehat Yeh Jaan Khanday Ki Pahul Chakay" which also tells that first step is to take Amrit not fifth. We get Naam by taking Amrit and by doing Naam we get Nimarata. Humility comes after Amrit. Anyone can do Simran but real way can only be taught by Panj Pyare, until then just keep reciting. those who are quoting from "Se Kineheya" book of Sant Harnam Singh Ji must also know that a disable person was brought to Sant Ji and Sant Ji whispered "Waheguru" in his ear. That disable person started saying "waheguru waheguru". even though he couldn't say it clearly but it surely made the effect and when he became healthy he took Amrit. and those who want page number of this sakhi-------------just start reading that book and you will find it.

well maybe I am wrong. I have read this book myself and that was a while ago. I will recheck everything. however, I will post the names of some books that are very good and must be read by all. for example, Sundri, Satwant Kaur, Bijay Singh and Baba Naudh Singh by Bhai Veer Singh Ji are really good ones. As far as I know Sant Ji never had any meeting with congress people. he never went to delhi to talk to them. he always wanted them to come to Punjab because he said if they could go to Kashmir then why couldn't they come to Punjab.

well there are plenty of books on our history so what was the need to write this one? the book is supposed to be about Sikh history as it states but only 100 pages for 200 years of history and most of the book on last 50 years. he also focuses more on politics. I will post the page number on which he states that indira gandhi wanted to bring someone forward who would support her mission and therefore Sant Ji was the right person.

no offense but the author writes first 200 years of history in first 100 pages and then the rest he talks about how sikhs failed to be successful. he focuses more on downfall and also calls Sant Jarnail Singh Ji an agent of congress. so not everything is true in that book. everyone should read it but carefully with open mind.

Phd in Sikhism does not mean you are a true Sikh or better than other Sikhs. It only means that you have studied Sikhism in depth and studied most of the granths in Sikhism and you are able to do parchaar. Many parcharak today do katha only to make money. many kirtanis do not go to music schools to learn. We have Music schools that teach Kirtan then why can't we have Parcharak Schools that would teach you how to preach. Then Gurdwaras will have Granthis who are educated in religion, have degrees and can do parchaar in English. what's wrong with that?
