hmmm.....yes the way to deal with islamic fundamentalism is to join forces with a racist organisation?!? :6 Talk about a no brainer! I read a short article on this in the metro, and me and my friends at work thought it was a joke.
Someone ought to give Mr Singh a copy of the film 'this is England'
There are other ways of dealing with problems like this.....if more of the sikh community get on board with this, i can see it ending violently.....especially considering the amount of friction there already is between the two religious communities

I visited sri Goindwal Sahib earlier this year...it was an absolutely amazing experience!
I'm only just learning to read punjabi, so i didn't do the full japji sahib on each step, i only did panj pauri paath. That was hard enough, i have so much respect for people for manage the whole thing!
The first 20 steps were like determination to complete the whole thing, i started at 10pm. The next 20 steps were like....its hard to explain...like a giddy sort of happiness where you can't stop smiling! I think for about 20 - 30 steps after that it had this feeling of wanting to cry, but like happy tears....those steps were really emotional! The last 20 or so steps were literally physical exhaustion.....i literally had to pull myself up with my hands becuase my leg muscles were cramping. But the last step is like unbelieveable relief and just so amazing that you've actually completed it and how blessed you are that waheguru has brought you there! I finished it at about 3.30am....i couldnt walk properly for 4 days, but it was worth it!!
Now i don't know about washing your sins away, but waheguru saved me that day! This is a bit personal, but totally true. I went to india to get married, i really wanted to go to baoli sahib for ages before but my mum said no, it was too close to my wedding. Then she had a dream where i was coming out of a massive well with loads of water flowing behind me, then she said she had to take me there before my wedding. On the last step i did ardas that my husband would be someone who would love me truly and not give me dhoka. On the day that i completed those 84 steps i found out that the guy i was going to marry was just after a visa (its a long story), he was planning on ditching me as soon as he arrived in the uk and go into hiding with his sister who is already illegal in this country.
I am sooo grateful that waheguru took me there, and blessed me and i found out the truth about him before it was too late!.....i think everyone should do it...even if you can't do the full japji sahib then at least mool mantar or panj pauri...id' like to go back and do the full japji sahib there.

any inspiration for someone whose struggling to stop coughing at the moment? :umm:
I don't know about inspiration. But a great cure is honey in hot water....BUT it has to be the good stuff the £6 a jar honey and you only add enough hot water to a tablespoon of honey so that it can flow down your throat.....don't make it too runny, it needs to be thick!
When i came back from india i had a persistant dry cough for 2 months!! It was all the smog and pollution in india stuck in my lungs.........then this really lovely old guy i get the bus with, told me about the honey, and it worked!
so good luck, i hope it helps you too!

Ive just recently come back from India, and i did darshan at Sri Harminder Sahib....i was absoultely shocked.
When you go into the darbar there is a line, but everyone is pushing and shoving so aggressively! all my feet got cut from people trampling them, i almost dropped my prashad, and i'm sure other people actualy did drop it. little kids were being stamped on! And there was even this one guy who was groping, firstly me, then my cousin while everyone was so squished together. I am so shocked!!
I went to Anandpur Sahib as well and that was so peaceful!! there were a lot of people there 2, but there was no pushing and shoving like in Amritsar. How are people allowed to do this? there should be someone making sure that there are organised queues with no pushing or shoving!!
First please do note that on an ordinary day about 70,000 people come to do Darshan in Darbaar Sahib. On weekends, Masya , Puranmashi and Gurpurabs the number can go upto 5,00,000.
I go to Darbar Sahib regularly and I've never been pushed. In fact Sangat is very patient and caring. Elderly, mothers carriying kids , pregnant women are gently asked to move ahead.
Wonder if you bothered to look aroung and see why all the pushing was tkaing place?
Guur Rakha
are we talking about the same place?
When you try to go into the darbar hall, there is soo much pushing its unbelievable!
even when i went to do ishnaan the, i was queing at the exit door by mistake, there was a woman in front of me who said shed left somthing inside and the sevadar was pushing the huge stick into her saying go round the other way and queue up again!
as to why there was pushing......well i was squished so tightly i couldnt even look around to see who was groping me let alone why there was pushing! my cousin said its always like this, everytime shes been there i couldn't believe it!

August then Xmas, that is a delay and a half.
From what I heard there are all sorts of problems with the build, eg the floor for the durbar hall is too low so you step down into the durbar hall.
Looks like the usual tricks from this builder. People gave warning of this builders antics to Mohan Singh but it appears him and the prabankhs at the Guru Ghar ignored them to emply this very bad buidler who has a reputation for poor work, increasing costs and failing to finish work.
really i didn't know that about the builders, the only reason we knew it would be ready around xmas time is becuase we wanted to book a wedding there.

well i only have 1 close guy friend.
were not so close that i bring them round my house or anything, but we keep in touch through email and that. but i introduced him to parents both mum and dad at uni, he actally calls me benji even thou he is from south africa and after my dad has talked to him, my dad agrees hes a really nice guy and is happy for me to keep in touch wit him.
So i think the best way is for parents to meet your friends, that they they can decide for themselves what they are really like.
I personally dont think that having a lot of guy friends is a good idea. Now i used to be a total tomboy where nearly all of my friends were guys, but you slowly realise that not all of them are looking at you as though you are sister....so choose your friends very carefully, and remember that parents usually know best, no matter how irritating it is!
i hope it all works out benji!

How humble? How humble?
How so deeply humble
is Guru Arjun Dev jee?
Beloved Guru jee,
Everywhere I look
I see lack of unity
Muslims against Hindus
Sikhs against Sikhs
Mool mantr is upto gurprasad
NO! NO! NO!
Upto nanak hosi bhi sach
Anger, bitterness and hate
So Guru jee, what would you say:
'Kichoo na jana
Mat meree thhhoree
Binvant nanak
Oat prabh thoree
I know nothing
My wisdom is little
Prays Nanak
Prabh i seek your Shelter'
Beloved Guru jee
Everywhere I turn
I see nothing but animosity
Whites against Blacks
Sikhs against Sikhs
The 5th K is Kes
NO! NO! NO!
Its definitely keskee
Anger, bitterness and hate
So Guru jee, what would you say:
'Kichoo na jana
Mat meree thhhoree
Binvant nanak
Oat prabh thoree
I know nothing
My wisdom is little
Prays Nanak
Prabh i seek your Shelter'
Beloved Guru jee,
Everywhere I turn
I see nothing but mai, mera, me
Husband against Wife
Sikhs against Sikhs
Nothing wrong with meat
NO! NO! NO!
We should have mercy
Anger, bitterness and hate
So guru ji, what would you say:
'Kichoo na jana
Mat meree thhhoree
Binvant nanak
Oat prabh thoree
I know nothing
My wisdom is little
Prays Nanak
Prabh i seek your Shelter'
Whenever someone starts getting into Sikhi
The same old topics of Kes vs Keskee, Meat vs Mercy,
Length of Mool Mantr get dragged through the dirt,
Rubbing the poor Sikh's face in the filth,
Now either he gives up Sikhi disillusioned at the confusion,
Or she takes a fanatical stand on one side of the fence,
...stirring up the cess-pit for all to smell...
Ego, anger, hate run a wild rampage
And these are the 'GurMukhs'
God help the ManMukhs!!!!
So Guru helps us all
All we got to do is FALL
At the lotus feet
Admit we are incomplete
'Kichoo na jana
Mat meree thhhoree
Binvant nanak
Oat prabh thoree
I know nothing
My wisdom is little
Prays Nanak
Prabh i seek your Shelter'
Wow! that's pretty deep!

haha.....yes but moshing in a turban may not be quite so practical  plus they wouldn't be able to crowdsurf at the end incase it gets knocked off.
