"The pH value of soil is one of a number of environmental conditions that affects the quality of plant growth. The soil pH value directly affects nutrient availability. Plants thrive best in different soil pH ranges. Azaleas, rhododendrons, blueberries and conifers thrive best in acid soils (pH 5.0 to 5.5). Vegetables, grasses and most ornamentals do best in slightly acidic soils (pH 5.8 to 6.5). Soil pH values above or below these ranges may result in less vigorous growth and nutrient deficiencies."
http://hgic.clemson.edu/factsheets/HGIC1650.htm
so i guess the optimum pH value for plant growth depends on the plant-type itself.

I would say tell your parents. Otherwise you aint getting nowhere woman! Too many times girls are "too afraid to let parents know incase this might happen" but the end result turns out to be much worse if they dont.
Trust ur parents dude.

T test?! Are you talking in terms of statistics in biological results?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Student's_t-test The wonders of wikipedia  lol
Quadrats are used to sample plants etc that dont move. They can be used to measure:
Population density (number of individuals of a given species in a given area),
frequency (measuring the likelihood of fiding a given species within a quadrat in a given area), and
percentage cover (measuring the proportion of ground occupied by the species/ estimates percentage cover of species).
You can also have transect quadrats - 2 types:
a) A belt transect where quadrats are sampled continously all the way along the line
b) Interrupted transect where quadrats are sampled at intervals along the line
Satisfied?

Its known fact in history that there were many Former British Indian Sikh soldiers who joined hand with axis powers (Germany, Japan & Italy).
Yeh what he said! Stop making excuses like "RSS this/Misleading that" - It's happened. Just because you lot don't support it doesn't mean it never happened.

I just had a thought - the Muslims might be in a bit of a trouble because of this (The ones that wear the full covering dress)
But i'm guessing to do seva and to prevent harm to others (rule 1 of being a doc) we can do ardaas after taking kara off - when needed - for forgiveness..
Guru Ji will understand..

not alwayz... and especially not 'punjabi culture' centred families... and even 'amritdharee' parents aren't the best matchmakers.. so many times i hear n see bout amritdharee parents sayin no to a rishta beceause of 'caste' and all that type'a nonsense...
also.. there are cases where the kids mite be amritdharee and the parents aren't... n the parents mite not kno ne amritdharee families...
of course it would be 'ideal' for our parents to be able to find us a 'perfect' partner, buh tha's jus nah reality..
personally, i want to get to know my wife before i marry her.. everybody is diff... tha's jus my own thoughts..
good on ya mate

Waheguroo jee ka Khalsa!
Waheguroo jee kee Fateh!
It is NOT mandatory, because according to the panthic rehat maryadha approved by Akal Thakt, it is NOT required. That said, you may want to, and your panj pyarai may or may not mention it (so you should talk to them first to see what they say).
Waheguroo jee ka Khalsa!
Waheguroo jee kee Fateh!
it IS mandatory
the panthic marayda has unfortunately changed from what it used to be
akaal takhat also say that 3 baniaa can be done for nitnem, but all 5 baniaa are compulsory
wearing of dastaar/keski is compulsory for all amritdhari sikhs
Dudeeee calm down with the stubbornness  when was it ever a kakar before Akhand Keertani Jatha came up with it..?
Anywho it doesn't matter - Keski is good for respecting your Kesh.. So it's recommended.
You should cover your head when Japping Naam..
and Since you should be japping Naam 24/7..
..then covering your head 24/7 makes sense!

We'll show em that as well as thoroughly washing our hands we also wash our Sarabloh Karas the same way

Greetings Friend
Perhaps forcing ourselves to do the right thing everyday will turn it into habit and make us better people. Otherwise we can keep doing less righteous deeds our whole life, with the thought that 'when our avastha is higher we can start doing things because they are right'.nono I didn't mean use it as an excuse - obviously my post can be taken that way exactly - I meant it's like Kaam - forcing yourself not to look at opposite sex will just increase your desire. Obivously, we should amke the effort to fight it - not hide from it and cover it up with actions..
Surely we should take into account what Guru Saheb says is right too, rather than solely relying on our sometimes distracted feelings.I apologise for not sounding right..
Yes, but let's not just sit around doing Bhagti but also integrate it into every action/step we take i.e. doing the right thing at every opportunity rather than using our mind's weakness as an excuse to leave it till later.thats what i meant lol
yh yh lol jokes- Meaning no disrespect to Shaheed Fauja or anyone else.0 -
Maybe the advent of Nanakshahi calender and some jathebandis refusing to abide by this new invention - causing a confusion amongst many of what date to celebrate ANYTHING in sikh history - has cost the Gurpurabs its importance..?

Would u marry a normal lookin person not so much into sikhi or would you marry a fat or handicap or a person having whtever physical disability but truly into sikhi ?
Its easier said thn done folks. We go around tellin ppl who cut their hair, do all kinds of makeups, drink sharaban that thy have succumbed to the pressures of the society. I guess whn it comes to marriage.. we have submitted to the pressures too . Thats makes us no different.
Having said what I have on this thread previously, Banda your point is true - however we shouldnt get into the mindset of forcing ourselves to do things coz its right ie: marry someone who's into sikhi thinking "we have to marry someone for their sikhi not their looks" (even though deep down u wanted the looks..because then you would end up being unhappy with your decision and kep desiring a better wife --> WORSE RESULT!)
It's about avastha - You should only do something that you feel is right.. And the point where the difference between what u feel like doing and what you should do disappears - Know that as the time when Guru Ji has done immense Kirpa on you.
Until then - work on your bhagti and aim for Akaal - you might get some gangsta moral values on the way

I aint got a problem with looks or nuthing but long as they aint a fatty
How does that affect you? Why can't your partner be fat ?
well i think sikhs whether men or women should work out and keep fit and not just sleep and eat their aloo waleh pronteh 24/7 and then sit infront of the TV all day
and what about ppl who try to stay fit but are fat due to genetic factors?

My dad goes:
Dont marry someone too goodlooking because then you'll find it hard to see other men gaping at your woman.
lol Fair plays!
Wicked Warrior: Doesnt evolutionary instincts play a role - like being "evolutionary fit" or something like that?

Personally i would be happy with a partner who would love me back and who can inspire me 2 get into sikhi..
there are a few factors that depend on looks:
a) Maybe the involvement of kaam ie: u want some next model-type-perfect-kuri-that-everyone-in-the-city-fancies to be your wife
b) Or the involvement of Hankar ie: so that you can show off at how "socialy normal/perfect" your wife/family is
c) You just plain stupid.. where you let media govern your mind and if media says that green skinned women are the way to go u'll marry a frog

There are 8 ways that energy is lost by actions of sex. A jatee is one who controls this, and therefore builds energy
However, he didn't go into what these were - i know two, seeing kaami objects/pictures and the act itself..
But i don't know the others.
The logic behind knowing this is, that by knowing them maybe we can find it slightly easier to fight kaam - as we'll know what we're facing against.
Please treat this thread as a serious topic.
