We are doing SASKAAR of saroops which are not birdh. We do SASKAAR of shaheeds because they have left this world. Do you realise what maha paap it is to do SASKAAR of saroop that isn't birdh. This is the reason why we petitioned Akal Takhat to stop this beadbi.

99% of saroops which are claimed to be birdh can be restored. Guru is our living guru it is our father our mother our best friend. Do we cremate our parents if they break a leg/arm? Veero stop looking at it as a book. Doing SASKAAR of saroops in India has become a sewa in some people's eyes. Do you know nearly 600 saroops are cremated every yr at gobindwal.

Thy are destroying our history for future generations.

We have recieved word that SGPC wants to do saskaar of Guru Granth Sahib saroop that had bullet pass through it in the attack in 1984. We can not allow this Maha paap to happen. This petition to Akaal Takhat Sahib asks for an urgent action to eliminate the incidences and acts of sacrilege and disrespect to Guru Granth Sahib Ji. This is a Sikh Quam issue and if its up to us to let the authorities know we wont tolerate this anymore.

Khalsa Ji when a guru ka sikh is being sent to the gallows we protest we run petitions. we got 100,000 signatures so a debate could take place in the houses of parliament. But when his father is being degraded sewa not done properly saroops being agan bhet even though they can be restored to there former glory, we cant even get 1000 signatures. its shameful we should all bow our head in shame. When we began this petition i was so confident that we would get signatures in the thousands. i had so much confidence in the online sangat. But to see we dont even have 350 has shocked me deeply.

If we dont then our guru will keep being degraded it will continue to be sold in shops. it would continue to be cremated when there is no need to.

Are you aware some So called baba/sant in India call the cremating of Guru ji sewa? over 600 saroops a year are being cremated. there is no offical check to see if sewa can be done to restore the saroop or if it is to bridh and has to be agan bhet. we talk about injustice to the sikh people well if we cant stop the injustice of our guru then how can we fight for our rights.

your right they should be telling us what to do but it appears that we have to tell them what they should be doing. In the west they call it people power lets put sangat power pressure onto them to do something. We have to start somewhere.

Petition has been running for just under 24 hrs and we have recived 64 signatures. I ask the sangat to please please sign the petition so we can bring satkaar and bring chnages. If we can raise 100,00 signatires for Bhai Rajoana then surely we can match that when the satkaar and stopping beadbi of our Guru is involved.

i was told it was in brighton prison. i did speak to the chaplian service there and they said at the moment they have no sikh chaplain there but are in the process of finding a new one. he said that any the chaplain brings any literature with him and wasnt aware of the saroop in there.

can concerned provide more info who gave him the information regarding this prison in the south of england. he must have been tolf by someone so if he can get more info we can then contact the right people.

i was made aware of this on the demo in london and have been chasing up simce and have found no info. if any one does findout please let me know so we can do soemthing about it

brilliant article well written i agree with everything you have wrote. im in my forties and have been seeing all the above in the UK for as long as i can rememeber. we have young proper graduates amritdhari rehat vaan individuals working on million pound projects and delivering them on time and they are told you arent smart enought to be in the committe of a guru ghar. i have been saying for a long time it should be 5 singhs who run a guru ghar . no president call him a jathedar or mukh sewadhar. These so called presidents walk around like they bigger then the guru themselves.

well done who ever you are great written article. we need a lehar in the UK and the West to get rid of these ego filled committe members and start to run guru ghars like a gurh ghar and not a business
