Sikhs lash out at Modi's comments on PM
By: Pravin Patel
October 8, 2004
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Addressing a public gathering at Dharampur in Gujarat’s Valsad district, chief minister Narendra Modi passed derogative remarks against Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and the Sikh community.
On October 5, Modi was addressing a public rally for BJP candidate Babarbhaiu Bhoyya.
He said, “Recently, I met the prime minister for passing various projects. After looking at the files, Singh commenting on one of the projects saying that it was very good and that he was planning to implement it across India. I was surprised to hear this.
"How can a Congress prime minister appreciate a BJP chief minister and then I realised that it must be midnight. But it was 2 pm. I realised that’s why he was appreciating me.”
Mid Day spoke to few prominent Sikhs in the city and they have expressed their anguish over Modi’s remarks.
Charan Singh Sapra (Youth Congress President)
Modi has very cheap thoughts. It is not right on his part to say such things against Sikhs and the PM. If he utters a single word against Sikhs, we will protest. Wherever Modi goes, we will follow him with swords. We will burn his effigy.
Uttam Singh (singer)
He has no right to insult the Sikh community in such a way. The Sikh community was born to protect the Hindus. Sikhs are protecting the Hindus and they will continue doing this.
Amarjeet Singh Zhendwal (Mumbai Fire brigade chief)
I have earlier heard Modi’s comments on Sikhs. I don’t take it to heart. One cannot live by hearing such statements.
Manjeet Singh Sethi (Fight for Rights of Hotel and Restaurant Association’s president)
Modi has insulted our prime minister and the Sikh community. It is very cheap on the part of the chief minister to make such statements.
Amarjeet Singh Sapra (Former police commissioner)
Modi shouldn’t have said this. I don’t care for such statements and others will ignore them.
Sardar Tara Singh (BJP candidate Mulund)
I am not in the mood to give any statement. I am busy with the polls at present. I will give my reactions only after the elections.

the thing is, u cant attack any of them if they come on foreign soil because it reflects badly upon us
that is why kps gill was not touched when he came to atalanta in 1996 for the olympic games
us uk canada etc have given many sikhs a place to live after 1984, if we attack these dogs when they visit these countries, we look like crazy extremists
on indian soil it is a different matter
and udham singh was also a different matter

this was most upsetting, i have roots in coventry and 99% of goreh respect singhs to the max in coventry

yes the 2nd panthic committee was run by dr sohan singh
hes very old man now, nearly 85, a former director of health services in punjab
he was caught in 1993 near nepal, apparently he told the indian intelligence agencies 'everything' about how the ISI ran the khalistan movement etc etc
dont know how true it is, indian propaganda most likely
he now lives near chandigarh working as a doctor again
his panthic committee consisted of him and bitoo really
bittoo is the real brains behind the 2nd panthic committee
still lodged in nabha jail, without a trial, he is the man the indians fear most, simply because hes extremely intelligent

aulakh is committed khalistani
there is no proof he is linked to kala afghana at all
aulakh has been succesful in lobbying congressmen in US for our cause, i dont think his loyalty can be questioned
aulakh is linked to the 1st panthic ocmmittee and is their spokesman in USA i think
dr amarjit singh is very loyal too from his speeches you can make out hes very clever
he is linked to bittoo's panthic committee (2nd) and the ISYF i think
he recently helped harpal singh cheema get out of jail in USA and also trying to help Barapind and sukhamnader sandhu to get out of bakersfield jail as well
both are decent for our cause

i have not taken amrit
that is why i ask, these nihangs put on a spectacle of being armed yet do nothing when they time arises
to me, most are pakandhees

sodhi was his right arm
on his death, sant ji was proper uspet and admits he is angry
in the speech, ' sant ji jawab mangde' sant ji calls sodhi his brother
sodhi was the amazing hitman who sent gurbachna DSP on his way

apparently in tullys book and kuldip brars book
tohra ran to the akal takht on night of june 5th asking sant ji to surrender, but sant ji turned him back calling him a coward
so good or bad u decide
he certainly wasnt a thief, just a power hungry communist
every single account of the attack, everyone (apart from tohras and longowals) says they both surrenedered like cowards with their hands up
PS by the was the aissf was not started by shaheed bhai amrik singh ji, he just took over it in the late 1970's and made it stronger, the aissf had been going on since partition i think
and even sant jarnail singh called longowal sant as well until he annoyed him!

i dont claim to be fearless
i dont claim to be a defender of the weak
i dont claim to be gods very own army
and im not always armed to the teeth
but the nihangs do
again, are their weapons for show?
rememeber what sant ji said
killing innocents when armed is wrong but to not use your arms when injustice is being done is worse
case closed. sant ji himself said it. going to argue with that?

a sikh is not silent when injustice occurs

guru ji did say that i know
so if they are true singhs, true warriors, truly akal purkh ki fauj, then go do some good, and these pappis on their way
prove that u are equal to 125000 and use ur arms
sant ji said, using arms for no reasons is wrong, but seeing injustice and not using them is even worse
i am sorry but most nihangs get high and eat roti all day and also eat the odd goat here and there
again are all those weapons for show?

he wasnt evil man, just a confused fat man
he surrendered along with tohra on June 5th 1984 from the guru nanak niwas rooms to the army
traitor therefore he is called when he proclaimed he was die if the army invaded
people, read up on longowal tohra and badal because behind sant ji, they were the major players in sikh politics during the attack
whilst sant ji fought like a lion, these surrendered or like badal styaed at home
longowal was shot by AISSF singhs whilkst doing ardas apparently in his home village
the rajiv longowal pact!!!! whata sellout
look it up on the net
basically it agrred with whatevere indira had said
it sold out the andpaur shaib resolution
the pact although a sell out has never been honoured by the brahmins rulers in delhi
and i apologise to the teletubbies

longowal was a fat teddy bear
and was from longowal village in dist.sangrur and was shot after signing the rajiv-longowal pact in 1985 giving away everything the singhs had fought for
and so he was given a railway ticket straight to hell
he was a rather meek and weak man, unable to decide to support sant ji or not, in the end he did not and is now labelled by khalistanis as a traitor although seen as moderate sikhs as a good man
the offical dictator of the dharm yudh morcha he was outshone by sant ji, and longowal didnt like this
he was an obscure giani who had served with sant fateh singh ji in the 1960s akali dal but then retired and was brought back as a moderate leader of the akali dal to p[acify everyone
instead he peeved off most of the kharkus
and sant ji by accusing him of being a congress agent
overall he was a fat telly tubby who just happened to have a dastaar and beard

anon, i dont arm myself to the teeth and claim to be equal to 125,000 like some nihangs do
i dont go round pretending to be defenders of the weak and innocent
that is what some of these nihangs do esp in india
not all but some
sit on their fat <admin-profanity filter activated> eating weed getting munchies and eating roti
are all there weapons for show??????????

i dont agree with drug taking
but there is evidence that fearless killer squads in the middle east used to take hashish before battle and use after to heal their bodies
the word assassin is directly derived from hashish
i read this in a sunday times article couple years back
anyway nihangs should pick up their guns and go and find KP GILL and Sajjan Kumar etc
and give them whats due, i dont care if u are stoned or not, go and use ur gun

it was offically launched in 1981 in canada by talwinder singh babbar (parmar)
but it had been operative in Punjab since april 1978, and they had already killed several nirankaris before 1981
sukhdev singh himself said he killed over 35 nirankaris, and that was in 1981
BK was originallly started by bibi amarjit kaur but talwinder singh was much more of leader than her and naturally took over
all reports of that babbar say he was an imposing man with leadership coming naturally
tarsem singh was the arms expert, and wadawa singh was second in command

this maggie thatcher stuff is funny
no one knows what PM's of different countires say to each other!!!

click on this link and scroll down to where the article says ' son remembers bhindranwale'
and there u see a picture of bhai ishar singh, eldest son of sant ji
0 -
ishar singh and inderjit singh are their names i think
ishar singh is the eldest, and is more pro active in panthic affairs than the younger one
ishar singh i think accepted the sgpc siropa when they declared his father a shaheed 3 years ago which he later went back on
the younger one lives in canada
having seen pictures of the elder one, i can safely say he doesnt look like sant ji all that much, dont know about the younger one
here is an interview (tribune) with sant ji's eldest son:
Son remembers Bhindranwale
Jalandhar, June 6
“I remember my father as a deeply religious man, who used to make us recite certain ‘Shabad’ before we had our food and I am proud of him. It is for people to judge whether he faught for the Sikhs or not. I will continue to feel his absence as a religious and caring father and at times miss him as a son.”
This was stated by Mr Ishar Singh, (32) son of Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale in an interview with The Tribune here today. Mr Ishar Singh, elder of Bhindranwale’s two sons was just 11 when Operation Bluestar took place at the Golden Temple complex in June 1984.’
“Definitely we feel his absence but at the same time all of us (family members) are proud of him. I don’t want to say anything about political people and I don’t want to discuss the present politics. People and history will judge what he did for the Sikhs. All I can say that only a few people can be as fortunate as he was,” observed Mr Ishar Singh, choosing words carefully.
Asked to share his childhood days, which incidentally was the most turbulent period witnessed by Punjab and Punjabis, Mr Ishar Singh, “All I can te
ll you is that we were trained to bow to “Waheguru’s Bhana” (the will of God) by our family. Sadness or elation both has almost no power to destabilise our innerself. I remember that he used to come home till I was seven years old and after that he did not come to home as he had become a saint. It were we who used to go and meet him wherever he was. Though, he never claimed himself to be a saint or a leader, he used to describe himself as a guard and that his duty was to caution Sikhs. I remember, he and my grandmother Mata Nihal Kaur used to force us recite some ‘shabads’and the ‘ardaas’ before we had our food,” said Ishar Singh, who was reluctant initially to utter even a word.
Asked whether he considered his father to be a great saint or not, Mr Ishar Singh said, “Sikh history was full of sacrifices. At times, he dubbed himself a ‘Jharubardaar’ of the Sikhs. He was beyond worldly things and our family still follows by being less bothered about worldly things and this is what he had taught us,” said Mr Ishar Singh, who maintained that he went to Akal Takht today to pay obeisance to his father. His younger brother Inderjit is settled in Canada.

i think the 1-2 million sindhi hindu estimate is grossly wrong
some afghan sikhs eat halal meat and also marry their cousins like some muslims do
some of them are converts from islam from the time hari singh nalwa conquered all the way upto jamuraud
there is no decent estimate of how many sikhs there are in pakistan since the census are all rubbish

yes spot on i was replying to earlier comments

bjp modi insults sikhs
in POLITICS | LIFESTYLE
Posted
of course, cong openly challenges us, and the sad badal and bjp just trick sikhs into thinking they are friends
badal wont say a thing against modi in my opinion
he wants power in punjab and needs bjp help for that
