  1. I was just asking about being ready for anything, like, combat ready at all times... u know? its not a kakar debate.
  2. here some things about what i was talkign about earlier... http://www.sikhsangat.com/index.php?showtopic=1128 Taksalee singhs in India also keep a keski with them when they bath (some of the singhs I know in Canada do to). Or at least they used to, so I'm assuming most of them still do. Same with sleeping. My dad was staying with this Nihung Singh in India once, and he used to redo a full dumalla before going to sleep. But why would you assume people wouldn't keep a keski tied to their heads when they sleep? You're supposed to be tyar bur tyar, including when you're sleeping. If you suddenly have to wake up, you should be ready to go, not running around with your hair loose and uncovered. Don't most singhs do this, not just in akj? Most of the singhs I've met (older ones) follow this rehat of keeping a small dastaar on (keski) while sleeping. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- PS> i'm in the chat
  3. hanji, i will do my best.. do you have AIM or MSN?
  4. more information on "always being ready" example, why we never remove keski unless for kesh ishnaan, always wear kirpan, etc... just basic stuff... It was talked about elsewhere, I just wish i could find the post again
  5. i shall ask if i feel the need! I was curious about the whole discussion about kamar kassa, hazooriya, etc.. and how always wearing keski is about tyaar bar tyaar... if i remember correctly... as well as keeping kirpan at all times, and what not... please elaborate?
  6. Only a few months since july or august man... you? Yeah, rudrakasha are the seeds of a tree, that is holy to Shiva and i do not tie a dumalla, but i want to eventually, my kesh isn't long enough yet for it, along woth chand tora and what not, i want amrit sanchar from budha dal

  14. Surinderjit, I feel as if you are getting the wrong impression and falling victim to the manipulative tactics of certain individuals that attempt to portray this as a racial issue. The issue at hand is of imperialism and colonial powers. The white man is a metaphor, because of the dominance and privilege white men hold as the norm to which everything else is measured by in society. The system is the issue at hand and the motives it instigates. White working class or what some refer to as the white trash are considered one of the largest minorities and comrades/allies in the struggle. The one struggle which transcends all others is the workers struggle, the proletariat vs the bourgousie and white individuals fall on both sides of this, many whites even within north american society are victims of the system. So I ask for your forgiveness if you misunderstand what I say, however I urge you to be critical of the system we live in. The consequences of the system effect us all, some us are aware while others remain in ignorant bliss, while dividing us based on social constructs such as race as a scapegoat (although I do recognize they are real in their consequences). If you still do not understand what I am trying to state, please feel free to PM me, or respond here and keep in mind this is not a discussion on the issues of race, but class struggle. Do not let the rants of certain individuals misguide you. In solidarity Fateh! Thanks. Dalsingh, What's your point? Please cut right to the chase here. Yes, i converted, at first for my girlfriend. But i become too "sikh" for her, and we have broken up a few times and gotten together again several times as well. All because i was to "into" sikhi for her, she wants a gora, not even a gora sikh. On the lighter topic, I will try to do so. Thanks for the inspiration :-) Gurfateh
  15. As i read these remarks against white people, i can't help but be saddened, because i am white AND Sikh, and not part of 3HO, either. Oh well...
  16. Hi all, can someone please tell me how to tie a "kamar kassa"? Examples: How should this be tied? thank you
  17. As soon as you notice an evil entering you, or is there, best thing to do is just switch the mind to naam simran. However, i hear some people say that we should control, and not abolish our 5 evils. You can think whatever you like. :D
  18. gora sikh here bhai jis... bhull chak maf karna
