  1. Also Pheena...

    Check out this...

"Living a life according to the Sikh philosophy is loved by me and not the physical appearance of a Sikh". (Rahit piari mujh ko Sikh piara nahen).

Guru ji didn't pick up five deciples but he asked, and it should tell us that he was not forcing or wanted someone to come just because he said so but it was based on their own desire and lets keep the same spirit...

Guru ji encouraged to become khalsa and we should do the same but forcing it on anyone is against guru ji's teaching.

    Well said sir. ^_^

  2. Does God expect us to follow and beleive in the religon we are born into?

What I'm trying to say is that, Since we beleive in reincarnation and Christians do not, does that then mean only the followers of religon that believe in reincarnation actually reincarnate? Christians don't believe in recarnation, they just think heaven or hell so by that logic they would not reincarnate.

Hard to explain my question but do the same rules apply for all of us Humans? If so, alot of Christians and Muslims will be in shock once they leave this earth plain.

Your Birth is not in your controll, nor is your death. Where you are born is the right place for your birth and the religion you are presented with. If you find yourself to be a better person in a different religion and closer to god, then more power to you.

Sant Kabeer ji's parents were both hindu and muslim and was raised in a Muslim environment, but he also went to a Mandir, its not about what religion you follow its about the ability to see the Same God in a Christian as you see in a Muslim.

just because jesus or muhammad did not mention the reincarnation in their message, does not mean its wrong or not a part of god's law.

Personally to me its no different if you belive in reincarnation or not, what you should be worried about is the chance you have ri

ght now to live your life with god's name. why worry about what is gona happen after you died, worry about right now, the Present and nothing more. Live for now, don't expect to be reincarnated, make this the last-time you are born in this world. VERY few people actually remember their past lives and those who do remember them are not sure if it was just a dream or if it really happened.

  3. Gurfateh paanjee/veerje..

Who are USA to go to other countries to keep human rights in respect position? I hear lots of thing saying that "Who are you and why you care for people living in punjab?" or stuff like that.. Of course I don't have any relative left in punjab, but still it's my gurus land and where most of my brothers/sisters live (19 million in counting) and the place where my 11th guru resides.. So yeah I would love to know what's happening in that State..

    its Veerje :umm: )

Its not about being in touch with your home-land, it facing the FAct, What exactly are the chances of Sikhs getting Khalistan without Bloodshed? The key word is Bloodshed?? I grew up in the Punjab till 92 when we moved to the states. I certainly don't want there to be Terrorists like there were in the mid 80 again and the reason for that was the wanting of Khalistan. I don't want my Kids to be afraid to go to my Home in PUnjab with fear. Yea most will say well its the price you pay, but is it truely worth it. To see the Punjab Military positioned around the Harmandir Sahib to stop Terrorist funded by the Indian Government. I don't want to see no Guns around or inside of our Guru's home because i can tell you if the Formation of Khalistan occurs, it

will cause much bloodshed, perhaps even more than it did in the mid 80s.

Its not being afraid so lets not create Khalistan, its being Realistic of the consequences the our new formed Khalistan will have to go thru to even show signs of a peacefull country. Again i see another Isreal/Palistine in the brewing.

Peace? Rite now peace is only to Rich people in punjab ! Still NO.. cauz their young ones are addicted to drugs and they definately are NOT in sikhi roop.. that's not peace that's slow death timclock ! Bhull chakk ke maaf karna.. Sorry if i was rude or stuff.. But yeah once again.. we need true pure khalsa first then talk about khalistan.. There are many ways to get khalistan.. Education, Katha Vichar, Funding, sports etcc .. DO there in person, then you will see how hard it is..

I agree with you there that the Youth in Punjab is being greatly addicted to drug and other filth. I alsoagree with you on the part about first we need to refine our Khalsa as it once stood in the 16-1800s.

  4. why doesnt guru granth sahib jee say we have to keep our hair?

    how about wearing a kirpan?

    how about doing nitnem?

    how about doing sehaj patt?

how about building a gurudwara? where in guru granth sahib jee does it say sikhs should build gurudwaras instead of worshipping in mosques or in temples?

i think the fact that guru sahib, light of akal purakh himself, got DOWN on his KNEES in front of mere MORTALS and gave his head to THEM, shows how important amrit is...

well that is exactly my questions. Those are a part of the Rehit Muryada. Not sure when it was created. why doesn't it mention it, Perhaps it doesn't mention this because having God in your heart, Showing Compassion to Humanity, is more important than wearing a Kirpan or going to Gurudwara....i don't know, i can only speculate as I myself have no definite answer in this.

  5. I do have one more thing to add..

guru gobind singh jee himself got down on his knees and took amrit from panj.. this in itself should tell you the importance of it.. if sachae patsha himself had to get down on his knees to take amrit, who are we to argue against it?

A very good piont ji, but i've also heard that the main reason for having Amrit was to make a Fauj of Khalsa. In Another words to be the Fauj of the 10th Guru? I have no idea how much truth this holds, but please do give me your thoughts.

..........because the panj pyare tell u on the day of amrit that you are liberated from the cycle of life and death?

Simply speaking sir, your liberation is depended upon the status of your heart and mind, not what was told during the Amrit Ceremoy. If liberation was that easy, i'd be first in line.

    OH BUT IT IS!!

Guru sahib made it so easy!!!

Actually its not that easy... amrit is the first step.. yes you are liberated from birth cycles of different animals etc.. BUT as written in dasam bani, and confirmed by reincarnated gursikhs, once you take amrit and stay on the path, if you do not acheive mukhti, guru gobind singh jee said we get 7 more tries as gurmukhs.. we are born into lives where we take amrit and will soon remember our past lives by doing bhagti and have a better chance of attaining mukhti..

r>amrit does help us breka free of these bonds.. it is written in guru granth sahib so many times.. naam acsends all...

only those who do not know the pleasures of naam will argue against this!

I agree that Amrit is a Great Stepping stone in this journey to Liberation, but for a Sikh is it Absolute Necessary. Such as the Sindis from who i've seen more love and devotion to guru nanak, they also bow their head to the SGGS and they haven't taken amrit. I also know of a Hindu who go goes to the gurudwara, hasn't taken Amrit, but everytime we meet, his body trembles with waheguru's viberations literally. Just to be around him , even to just to see him from far away is like no other feeling.

As for Specific number of afterlives we get after taking amrit to attain liberation does not set right in my heart. I am not saying it is wrong, but before any Granth i will believe my Guru SGGS. If you can please give me a direct quote or page # in the Dasam Granth.

I without a doubt believe that taking Amrit Does help you with breaking such bonds. But if it was that Necessary, why didn't the 10th guru make it Clear in the SGGS that to be a Sikh, to be a Diciple of the 11 gurus you must take Amrit. If you know of Direct Quote, Please Please do post them. A fellow sikh told me to read Bhai Gurdas's bani , i haven't been able to yet, but if you have such quotes that mention taking amrit in the SGGS please do post them.

    Waheguru

  7. I feel i have come to my own conclusion, Why worry about if i need amrit or not, all i should be concerned with is praising the lord, doing simran n seva. Singing his virtuos. if in this process the desire for taking amrit arises in my heart, i will surely take it, but i will not until i have that desire for it. If he himself has placed me on this path, im sure he will also guide me toward the right direction whether it be taking amrit or not.

I thank you for your thoughts

and NEO ji, i've gotten the first 7 or 9 min of that tape, if u don't mind giving me a link to the rest of it

    Waheguru.

  8. Is Khalistan worth teh bloodshed that WILL happen during and after the formation??? Who are you to make the decision to make the innocent people who live in punjab peacefully go thru seeing their kids and their kids rasied in the war torn country??

And to say this will happen peacefully is not even possible, Indian will not just hand over Punjab to the Sikhs.

Can this be another Isreal/Palistine in the making??
