Wat is a person going to achieve if they have someone else do the Akhand Path and not even be there to listen to Guru Ji.

Wat is ever gained? Nothing .

Its best (if you have Gian of reading Gurmukhi) to do the Akhand Path yourself and be able to grow spiritually from this.

Monty the basketball player... well really wasent much of a player. He pretty much entered the NBA draft for kicks. :s

I'm somewhat of a die hard Basketball fan and I've found myself thinking.. "wouldnt it be cool if there was a Singh playing for the Los Angelos Lakers. ". I've never heard about a Gursikh going to the professional level in pretty much any sport.

So this is my question. Does anybody know of a Gursikh who plays at a professional or even collegiate level?

It can be any sport though.

From what i have learned from Mahapurshes is that these Yugs are completley different world which all occure on this Earth. The topic is pretty Intresting but is quite hard to explain.

Guru Ji tells us of 4 different Yug's (i have no clue about what no one said about these khands) the current on is Kal Yug. These Yugs are periods of time where Waheguru Keeps things for specific reasons.

This is how Guru Ji describes Kal yug. Its a world of darkness and tyranny and in this world very bad things happen.The duration of the Kalyug is 432,000 human years. Waheguru has sent us to this Earth as a test. A test to see if we can overcome these impuritys and live a pure life. In realty the Gurus were sent on this Earth to guide us through the Darkness and live true lives and so that is why we have Siri Guru Granth Sahib Ji with us.

The next world is Sat Yug. A world of truth and spiritual enlightenment. Sat Yug - the Age of Truth or Golden Age. Duration - 1,728,000 human years. During this Age, man is one with the Divine. He realises the vibration that this Cosmic Energy created to make Prakriti (manifestation). During this era, man meditates on the Naam, – the vibration of the Divine. The lives of the people in Sat Yug are HUGE and whole lives are used for the sole reason to remember the true lord. This Yug is filled with love compasion and Spiritual Guidance towards the truth.

Land Ccheaper than rest of Punjab. The boom in prices hasnt gone up there....YET. Mountains all around with forests.. quite beutiful . Also the water there is the highest in all of punjab. If you were to dig a well the water is like 50 feet from the surface where as in other places in punjab the water is 500 feet from the surface.

Actually even the "popukar" kirtaniyea are underpaid. Bhai Balwinder Singh Rangila is not getting a set amount paid for his Kirtan duty, he gets only what the Sangat gives to him. None of these kirtaniyea get paid 5000 dollars . Thats just ubsurred.
