Why are you finding it so hard to give credit where it's due? There were about 600 Singhs that were able to make it there, about half were from Baba Ranjit Singh's jatha. It's very dishonest to downplay his contribution, expecially with the leadership he showed at the crucial hour.

Stop hating on fellow Sikhs. Give respect to Baba Harnam Singh,Baba Ranjit Singh, Baba Daljit Singh, other Gurmukhs, Federations...and the Sikh Youth.

I do not know how much you know about these missioanry colleges. But to let you know they are the main cause of problem in panth today. They want to change sikhism and make it a religion of book. They are the cause of aposatsy in Punjab. They mislead innocent sikh youth of Punjab by taeching them anti Dasam Granth literature.

If we promote them they will like sikhism where there are no basnis of amrti sanchar and a new ardas.

Revival of Khalistan - Reunion planned in USA and Europe

Harjinder Singh Dilgeer's story is not much different. This self-styled scholar, claims to be one of the founding members of the Dal Khalsa outfit, and has worked for the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) in the last decade. 4 years or so ago at the 84 rally hyde park. Sikh Federation felt brave and decided to push around an old man for his views on Bhindranwalle (shaheed view of his).

Won't allow 'Delhi Remote' to meddle in internal religious affairs of Sikhs:

Akali Ministers Punjab Newsline Network Friday, 11 December 2009 CHANDIGARH: Two Senior Akali Ministers who are also members of SGPC Sewa Singh Sekhwan and Sucha Singh Langah, warned Congress led Union Government to desist from interfering in the internal religious affairs of Sikhs, through their paid stooges like Paramjit Singh Sarna and Company.

In a statement issued here on Friday, the Akali leaders warned Congress Party not to dare to repeat their earlier follies as intra party politics of Zail Singh and Darbara Singh was responsible for the bloodshed of 25000 Punjabis.

He said that Congress did not seemed to have learnt a lesson from its past mistakes and now Captain at the instance of Delhi leadership was creating fake pseudo Sikh religious outfits to divide Sikh community. He said that secular credentials of Congress Party got fully exposed with Captains open declaration of helping Delhi remote controlled and funded Sarna and Company in ensuing SGPC elections.

They reminded the Congress Party in every SGPC elections their support base amongst the Sikhs voters got fully exposed, with their frontal organizations forfeiting even their security deposits.

The Akali leaders advised Congress Party to either shed their secular façade or enter in the SGPC fray openly on its party symbol to face the acid test of its popularity and acceptability amongst the Sikh electorate. They said that back door entry of Congress in SGPC through Sarna and Company or their unsuccessful attempts to create parallel SGPC in Haryana and Rajasthan shows the desperation of issueless Congress Party, trying to establish its identity.

Challenging Captain Amarinder Singh to fight SGPC elections, the Akali leaders said that Sikh masses all over the world have seen the real dark face of butcher Congress Party, whose leaders burnt alive over 7000 Sikhs in the streets of National Capital of Delhi alone. Sikhs are itching to punish that party that was responsible for sacrilege of temporal seat of Sikhs Sri Akal Takhat Sahib and Sri Harmandir Sahib during Operation Blue Star.

They said that Party that still honours the killers of innocent Sikhs with Parliament tickets besides party positions can not be acceptable to any Sikh having faith in Guru Granth Sahib.

They said that time has come when Congress leadership should openly admit their involvement in 1984 Sikh carnage and seek apology from the Sikhs for their misdemeanors and pledge to the Nation to never repeat the mistake of interfering in the internal religious affairs of Sikh Community.

Former cabinet minister and MLA from Majithia, Bikram Singh Majithia today reacted strongly against the statement of former chief minister Capt Amarinder Singh offering support to Paramjit Singh Sarna of the DSGMC in the forthcoming general elections of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC).

He said the Congress party, which projects itself as secular, has always inteferred with the religious affairs of the Sikhs.

He said Sarna is a Congress supporter and has no interest in Sikhs or Punjab.

He also blamed the Congress for instigating terrorism in the state during the 1980s.

Majithia said the Sikh community played a pivotal role in the fight for independence but were not rewarded accordingly by the Congress.

Majithia also reacted to a statement by the Congress Legislative Party (CLP) leader Rajinder Kaur Bhattal demanding dismissal of a government elected by the people. He demanded Rajinder Kaur Bhattal should apologise for the un-parliamentary behaviour by Congress MLAs in the Vidhan Sabha.

So it looks like the India lot are the same as the dal khalsa uk of manmohan "singh khalsa". I been getting same threatening pm's. funny and sad in a way of how low the heretics go, they cannot debate, but only show their hate and anger (which manmohan developed for them - as they had in them in their days before coming into sikhi anyway).

By the way i know Manmohan singh. Last year he was sponsoring Ragi darshan singh. There was uproar in UK and i spoke to him. he was reasonable. But Ragi was opposed tooth and nail by sangat of UK.

When politicians decide to flex their muscles, both the district administration as well as the police cut a sorry figure. These two institutions looking after the general public are reduced to mere spectators, with little power in their hands.

This is precisely what happened during the religious congregation held on December 5 and 6 by the controversial self-styled Godman Ashutosh Maharaj of the Divya Jyoti Jagriti Sansthan (DJJS). The man who has been in direct conflict with the Sikhs, especially the radical forces, was invited in the city by none other than BJP MLA from Ludhiana, Harish Bedi. The very first day of the meeting witnessed a violent clash between the radical Sikh bodies and the police that left one dead and over a dozen injured. The second day of this meeting had to be cancelled due to this clash and the city was put under curfew.

The startling feature here is that while permission from the DC office is needed to hold any public meeting, in case of DJJS, this permission was not sought. The SDM, East, Manpreet Singh Manchanda, in whose area this meeting was held confirms this as he says, "We were not approached for any kind of permission."

This fact is further confirmed by the SP, City-3, Harjinder Singh who is incharge of this area, as he says, "For holding any public function, the organization, which is the host, is supposed to submit an application to the DC whose office then sends it to the SSP for a security clearance or the guidelines to provide security. In this case, the permission was not taken." All because the DJJS enjoyed political patronage of an MLA, whose party, the BJP is in power along with the SAD(B) in the state. What is more, as huge hoardings announcing this meeting dotted the city for more than a fortnight, the administration simply turned a blind eye.

About the meeting, Harish Bedi maintains, "Our meeting is a success and we have shown this to public. Seventy per cent of the devotees at this meeting were Sikhs, which show that this dera has a following among the Sikhs too. We cancelled the day two of the meeting because of the law and order situation."

Not to miss the fact here that the intelligence report sent from the city to the state home minister and SAD(B) president Sukhbir Singh Badal and Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal clearly stated that law and order situation could worsen because of the meeting. But in no mood to annoy its coalition partner, SAD(B) took no action on these reports. Instead, the district police was asked to provide security at the meeting venue at Sector 32, Chandigarh road.
