  1. I read this on another forum and wish to share: http://forums.waheguroo.com/index.php?showtopic=24830
  2. Following on from the topic of how Gurdwaras are managed. I want to discuss what people think the roles of the Gurdwaras are in England or the West. The Gurdwaras obviously have a religious role but is this only booking Akhand Paths and giving out Siropas or is there more? Does the Gurdwara have any social or political roles in society and perhaps a responsibility/role in wider society? Interesting discussion. At moment I think some Gurdwaras are not bothered on interacting with the Sikh youth or women, let alone interacting with non-Sikhs. Nice if someone could share a few examples of Gurdwaras that have good practice and role models for others.

  4. Saturday nite was awesome. Felt really buzzing after the Kirtan and happy to see so many Guru ke singh and Sangat. I was slightly annoyed to see some young Singhs sitting bit in front of me ((don't know who they were)) laughing, talking, fidgeting and smirking during the Kirtan!! Could be that they were talking amongst themselves and generally laughing but it doesn't look good whilst sitting in the Guru Mahraj's Darbar and other Sangat members may think they were laughing at the Keertan being sung and Naam Simran. I felt bad because I was embarrased to say anything to them. So that's my fault! Nothing wrong with talking with friends, sharing a joke and having a laugh but it should be done outside without disturbing surtee of Sangat. Despite the group of lads fidgeting and smirking at one another, I felt blessed to have been able to attend the programme. Thanks
  5. Wow. Is this genuine I wonder? Would be nice if established Sikhs could purchase old Sikh artefacts and preserve them as heritage.
