  1. I find it sad really that some people who call themelves Sikhs and post on these forums are filled with such negativity and arrogance. Hinduism will never swallow Sikhism. Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji maharaj is here for eternity, it is the eternal truth and will forever educate and enlighten us manmukhs. There is nothing more powerful than Naam......Sikhi is here to stay. In every walk of life there are those that deviate from the path. So yes there are many people who call themselves Sikhs but still partake in Hindu rituals. Instead of being negative and saying that we are all going to turn into Hindus why do you not look at any solutions? Education........my parents were not the best educated. In terms of Sikhi they passed on what they could and many questions would be left unanswered. I like most of you have been blessed with a decent education in a Western School system. This ability to learn has allowed most of us to eduacte oursleves about our Gurus and what Sikhi means. My point here is that we are in a great position to educate those that do not fully undersatnd Sikhi and deviate from the truth. As Lowest of the Low said, unless Guru Saheb so wishes will Sikhi ever be destroyed. WJKK WJKF.
  2. I went vegetarian about 5 months ago, i've been weight training for a few years and ate lots of eggs, tuna, salmon and of course chicken. When i did stop eating meat i needed to find an alternative protein source. Cottage cheese is great. Soy products are essential to a vegetarian diet. Get a decent protien shake. Lots of dal and rajma! You will basically have to read the labels of everything you buy. Other posters have mentioned snickers and mars. Also be careful of gelatin, not only is it found in most yogurts but it is also present in many vitamin and health pills. If you eat cheese, makesure it is not made with RENNET. Rennet is from a baby cows stomach. Choose cheese made from microbial cultures. Bottom line read every label and good luck.

  4. I was hoping that some of you could shed some light on the following situation that I find myself in.........I began my journey towards our Guru sometime ago. I regularly do nitnem and have been thinking seriously about taking Amrit. The problem is that I work shiftwork which includes 2 sets of nightshift. I work 7 days of 5pm to 3am and then after a few days off another 7 days of 11pm to 7am. I am a police officer and don't get the luxury of a lunch hour where I could do my morning nitnem and there is little downtime during the night. I would really appreciate some educated responses that will point me in the right direction. WJKK WJKF.
