dont get rid of them, learn and manage to control them and use them at the right time and right place.

you control them, dont let them control u.

    sat shri akal ji

to meet the nirankar, five vices must be removed from our heart.

but in this kalyug time vich , how can we maintain crystal clear heart?

    bhul chuk maaf karni...

    waheguru ji ka khalsa

    waheguru ji ki fateh.

Hum maile tum oojal karte hum nirgun tu daata

when would the right time be, to use 'lust'?

    Fateh Ji

In a very human way of answering your question, you dont want to use the 5 evils, you just need to channel the energy that comes from those desires, lust should not really be used, but something similar sis required for reproduction i.e. between a married couple.

I think we need to learn how to channel energy from the 5 evils and put it to use elsewhere i.e. seva, simran, reading, exercise, music and so on.

Following the caste system is one of the biggest mistakes a Sikh can ever make in their life, to put people into a social class is against sikh daily practices i.e. equality, langar, seva, simran "seeing everyone as one" and come from the one light....big big test in todays society as a Gursikh please try not to fail it especially when its time to get married ;)

  3. Gurfateh ji,

Is there anyone out there who feels that they can support me? I'm struggling with life at the moment, without going into too much detail here. In fact I dont even know how to explain. Basically, i started to grow my kesh a few months ago and cut egg out of my diet, as i was already vegetarian for a while. I feel comfortable with my kesh now, I cover my hair. I'm currently learning nitem in english, as i dont know punjabi yet. I'm trying to live as best as I can according to guru ji's hukam... i feel as though i need more help, whether i should be asking on here or not i dont know. I dont get up at amrit vela very often and i dont do all of nitem. I feel as though i need someone to help me to progress/ support me. There's one other thing that's making my life a misery i dont want to really explain here but if you think you could help me then please pm me.

    thank you for your time.

My advice is not to fill up your taal with too much, take bite sizes, yes nitnem and amrit vela are important, but to break it down a little and help you understand and digest it better, i would start off with doing my basic nitnem, 5 banis any time in the morning that you can manage, this will allow you time to digest and get use to reading nitnem at a pace that suits you then slowly try and do amrit vela 1 a week and build up slowly.

I remember when i first started off on the path of sikhi i just started keeping my kesh and would listen to japji sahib and jaap sahib on the way to work in car and listen to rehras sahib in evenings :) then it built up 5 banis rehras and kirtan sohila and now i can read various different banis with a decent level of prouciation because of listening to shudh clear recordings of paath.

The moral of the story is break down your sikhi into pauris "steps" and start to take them, steps one by one enjoy it and dont rush, i would recommend taking amrit as soon as possible but that doesnt mean you have to be a master in paath reading and kirtan :) it means your on the path to the Lords Feet.

I was told this story before by a singh who did sangat of the nirmal kutia johla wale sants, he stated to me that the roop the johla wale sants keep is the roop of what Guru Gobind Singh ji took when he went to see Baba Nand Lal Ji, Please see http://www.gurdwara.org.uk/gurdwara/founders/founders3.html

    Great story....and a great message....akaaaaaal

  5. A polite reminder to all singhs and kaurs, ensure you use legitimate purchased software i.e. powerpoint and not copies from your friends or downloaded from the internet, it is then tokha and dishonest, sttm team try and build your own viewer it would help the sangat using the software, ive seen so many times sangat downloaded illegal copies of powerpoint to use with sttm. Good work on sttm 2, keep it up.

  6. Bhai Sahib AKJ has always been their, they use to be called Nivair Keertan Jatha. Also how do u know the other sampardaa are puraatan to guru gobind singh jee's times, can u provide proof?

Taksals and the Nihang Jathas have been around alot longer than the AKJ, there are so many sources that prove that and they both practice the marayada of doing praksash of sri dasam granth and have kept that tradition a live. AKJ have a vision of the past but no lineage. But again i like akhand kirtan lol

Admin Note: This is not the official stance of the Akhand Keertanee Jathaa. It is not undersigned by the current jathedar Bhai Surat Singh ji. No-one has signed the above letter, no-one knows of its authenticity or the undersigned, therefore this is not the official stand of the Akhand Keertanee Jathaa on the topic of Sri Dasam Granth Sahib. It may be the hidden agenda of a few to demean the character of the jatha in the eyes of the panth, we will keep the sangat informed as to their stance or any letter undersigned by Jathedar Bhai Surat Singh Jee.

  7. A leaflet i managed to get hold of which was being handed out at the last AKJ smagam....?

The AKJ did nto exists before the 1930's 40's so do they have the right to comment on the marayada practiced before that time by the actual puratan sampradas and jathabandiyas?????? sikhi survided because of these groups, AKJ is a very new organisation but in my eyes has no links to puratan times even though i love there kirtan lol

  8. Right khalsa ji, i have jus spoken to soho rd gurdwara in bham, and also contacted sedgley street gurdwara in wolverhampton both in the UK, they will discuss between themselves how to approach the auction and obtain the shastar, trust me when i say both gurdwaras are well funded and have good organising skills. Soho road will contact me direct once they have discussed further.

This way we dont have singhs bidding eachother out n making the price higher lol akaaaaaaal

  9. Right khalsa ji, ive tried contacting some sevadars from main UK gurdwaras to see if they will back a collaborated bid....ill let u guys know what the outcome is, the gupt singh i know is a little scared that the bidding could go quite high so we defo need a central body or sevadars that are trust worthy and can lead the attack in getting hold of gurujis shastars...i was thinking of contacting gurumastak singh to help organise a online fundraiser??? wat u guys think....

  10. Fateh Sangat ji

Great seva, and what a gursikh dhan dhan shaheed bhai fauja singh. I was going to start a new thread but thought id ask question here. This is a very honest question not a trouble causer lol.

I heard from some singhs that shaheed bhai fauja singh ji was excommunicated from the Akhand Keertani Jatha because he came across too militant is this true??????????????

  11. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh

My View - "i was listening to the kirtanee most of the night, almost to the end of the reinsbhai, and yes i had a big dhumalla (Gurumukhi Dastaar) and shastars" So its not a dhumalla thing lol

I have not the gian to do santokh, satkar, sukhasan seva otherwise i would have offered to do seva of Dasam Granth Sahib Ji at the end of reinsbhai, but i am just a leaner sikh. Singho and Singhniyo keep the love and take the positive from the program, i really enjoyed it. As for sangat making mistakes!!! forgive and learn for the future, they must have there reasons.

    Gurfateh Ji

  12. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh

If someone is enjoying doing naam/simran it doesnt matter how or if they are expressing them self, just let them enjoy. But on the other hand if it becomes nothing more than a habit then it could become a method in which you could lose concetration.
