    Guru Gobind Singh Ji wanted sikhs to stand out in sava lakh, these days i wouldnt be able to pick a sikh out of a crowd let alone a "half-caste" sikh.

    i wouldnt be so "rude" as to approach someone myself, daas was approached on a number of occasions, i remember once in particular a lad who was about to do GCSE exams & approached me later that day saying one of his parents was a Sikh and he was interested in finding out a bit more about sikhi. all he saw was a beard & turban and that was enough for him to ask - out of the two of us he had less hangups/insecurity!

    totally agree with dalsingh's point.

    the problem is often the first experiences they have of other sikhs are entirely negative e.g. relatives still angry at their parents marriage, weird looks at the GuruGhar as if they are aliens just landed on the planet but these are cultural taboos at odds to the basic message of sikhi.

    we shouldnt be so suprised to see sikhs of different ethnic origins and indeed non-sikhs at GuruGhar as isnt that what the GuruGhar is there for? to be open in all directions & all people? how easy do we make it for them to understand whats going on?

  3. daas has met a lot of youngsters in schools who have one parent of punjabi sikh origin & another from a different ethnic origin and often have Sikh names.

    many times they'll approach you because they are interested in their Sikh background but often nobody has bothered to help them research this. they usually have past negative experiences from the kind of reaction they get from their own parents, family, & our community.

    i dont understand why we put such a taboo on discussing this as even as early as 1800s there were people born of Sikh background in Western World, ironically leading the suffragette movement for womens rights.

    we all know that some of the best GurSikhs in history have come from totally random backgrounds.

    muslims actively invite and involve people from other backgrounds that learn about their faith & if they convert get them to preach. we should do similar rather than show our insecurities as at present & invite people of all backgrounds be they mazhabi/vanjara/dalit/yellow/black/white/etc to learn about sikhi & do parchaar as a positive strength and involve them in forefront sewa.

    looking at the response of Sangataan i agree with previous posters that there is no need for a new Gurdwara. in our community people treat GuruGhar like community clubs where if they dont like what is being said they open up their own club down the road where they can freely say Black is White.

    doesnt matter what facade or roop these people take, be it via internet, newspapers or "Sikh Lehar" - ultimately they do nothing but cause arguments in the Panth and throw gasoline and maximum pump on issues to drive a wedge between people and keep them divided so that they do not stand together.

    this has nothing to do with dharam and all about politics. too much ME ME ME - clearly there is something about local GuruGhar they dont like, and rather than do any genuine sewa such as in Langar theyd rather set up something separate hoping people will sing their praises.

    I just received an email with two brochure one in English and one in Punjabi. Please see- attachment. English brochure seems fine but as soon as you have a glimpse of Punjabi one, its quite alarming and concerning. Basically, missionaries managed to open up full fledged parchar center in Gurdwara made by them where they can do anti gurmat sidhant parchar with full throttle. Now i m not saying they should be shut down or given fatwas. There are few main concerns with this move:

    1. There should be Sikh parchar center based on original/puratan Gurmat Sidhant values side by side as well, so seekers can decide themselves instead of letting them brainwash and mislead new comers to the sikhi path and sikh youths.

    2. It's quite hypocritical of our jathedars and soo called panthic organizations first to pledge an action against kala afghana/bhausaria mindset then make a U turn and sleep with them on a same manji. As you can see from brouchure below, and their website, jathedar of sri akaal takth sahib ji and jathedar of akhand kirtani jatha having no problem taking in part with those who have disrespected sri dasam granth sahib ji and follow bhausaria mindset doubting bhai gurdas ji varan, sat-balvand vaar, bhatt swaie and other important gurmat sidhants.

  13. The following are excerpts from the English version of the last international speech given by Jaswant Singh Khalra:

    I have come to Canada to talk about a report. That report describes the story of oppression of the past ten years. When we started that report, we had before us hundreds of reports, but there was one question to which none of those reports provided the answer. That question was: Thousands of mothers await their sons even though some may know that the oppressor has not spared their son's lives on this earth. But a mother's heart is such that even if she sees her son's dead body, she does not accept that her son has left her. And those mothers who have not even seen their children's dead bodies, they were asking us: at least find out, is my son alive or not?

    But when we started talking about this issue, then countless mothers, countless sisters weren't ready to say that their loved one has disappeared. They said, "Son, if you take this issue further and our son is still alive, they will kill him – don't talk about this, we are not going to tell even you." So we produced a rough estimate for the public that in Amritsar district alone, 2,000 children are missing and the government must tell us where they are. The government was quiet.

    Then, we filed a petition before the High Court on behalf of some families, asking the Court to tell us where those children are. The government then gave an affidavit denying any knowledge about these children. When the issue progressed, then the person in-charge of the oppression, KPS Gill said in a press conference in Amritsar,

    "These Human Rights Wing folks are not doing anything on human rights. They have one motive, to prop up their agenda, so that there is no peace in Punjab . They are ISI [Pakistan 's Inter-Service Intelligence] agents and are hatching a conspiracy to discourage the police machinery to re-incite militancy."

    KPS Gill went onto the extent of saying, "I'll tell you where those kids are." He said, "These kids are in Europe, in Canada , and in America , where they are earning their daily wages. And these human rights organizations are telling us that thousands of kids have disappeared." This was a challenge to us. This was a challenge to that truth which we sought to bring forward. Then, brothers, in order to bring this truth to the public, accompanied by evidence, we put ourselves on an arduous task where we had to confront various dangers. But we went there where our brothers had gone. We went to the cremation grounds. We went and asked the employees there just tell us this much that during this time, how many dead bodies did the police give you? Some said we burned 8-10 every day.

    Some said there was no way to keep an account; sometimes a truck full of bodies came, and sometimes 2-4 dead bodies. When was said we need an account, they told us we could get the account from one place: "The police gave us the dead bodies, and the municipal committee gave us the firewood." So brothers! when we received this truth, we went to that country's High Court. We knocked on the doors of Punjab and Haryana High Court, and asked, Oh Oppressors!, at least give us the detail that which dead body belongs to whom so that we can tell each mother, sister, so we can tell each father. So they can say their prayers to Almighty which they have been keeping in their heart, "Almighty, please let my son rest at your feet"...

    But that country, that calls itself the largest democracy and lover of justice, its High Court told us,"This is not public interest litigation. This creates a huge issue. Instead, do this - Send to us each of that family to whom the dead bodies belong and we will give them the information." A mockery has been made of the law. A mockery has been made of the Sikh nation. And a mockery has been made of those people, who are not asking for anything other than a death certificate. But the biggest court of all is the people's court and we want to go to the people's court on a worldwide level and say to the world, "You have called us terrorist. You have called us communalists. But those whom you have called the prophets of democracy, recognize their reality and then tell us who is ultimately the terrorist and how is righteous?"

    We can say often that we have suffered much oppression. But we have not had the practice or training of keeping a complete record of that oppression. About 50,000, about 1 million – we say all of that. The educated people of the world do not trust that, they need exact figures. And for that, I also say, that you all should unite on this issue. This issue is not just the issue for those families. This is the [sikh] nation's issue, humanity's issue. You all should present this issue, in whatever way you can. Condemn that government, that machinery, that justice system, and tell the truth to people.Please Brothers help us in this work.So my brothers, pray to the Guru that we maintain our self-respect.

    We must safeguard the work for which we were created and earn the pleasure of the Guru. We ask the Guru for everything, but afraid to ask the Guru for that one gift. The Guru has many gifts, but what is the greatest gift the Guru has? The greatest gift is not milk, is not a son. And now the Guru does not even pass on the guruship to anyone. The Guru cannot make any saint a guru now.

    When the Guru gave the guruship to the Sri Guru Granth Sahib, the Guru kept one special gift, which any Sikh could invite. And after the time of the (Ten) Gurus, Sikhs paid so much respect to that special gift.And that special gift, which the Guru possesses, is the gift of martyrdom. Those who receive this gift - they don't get to be Guru but after the Guru, they are the most respected people of our (Sikh) nation.

    I hope - I am not a political leader, which could give you some political line or pull a political antic - from a human rights platform I will definitely say this to you: the Khalsa was inaugurated to protect human rights, the human rights of the world. And if you cannot protect your own human rights, you will not be able to give any definition of the Khalsa in the world.

    On 6th September, 1995 at 9:15am he was arrested by police while washing his car outside his home in Kabir Park, Amritsar. He too disappeared.

    sikhs contribute more to the british economy than most communities and what do we get in return?

    anti-sikh laws, rules, regulations and red-tape that prevents us from going about our daily business and restricts our way of life.

    a bill for ten times this would be too low. a message needs to be sent that if you get in the way of a sikh's right to freely practise their faith - you will pay a heavy price.

    ਇਕ ਦਿਲਚਸਪ ਗੱਲ ਇਹ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਇੱਕ ਹੀ ਖ਼ਬਰ/ਸਮਗੱਰੀ, ਇਕੋ ਫ਼ੌਂਟ ਤੇ ਇਕੋ ਡਿਜ਼ਾਈਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਲਗੀ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਸਾਫ਼ ਪਤਾ ਲਗਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਸਭ ਇੱਕ ਥਾਂ `ਤੇ ਹੀ ਤਿਆਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਬੀਤੇ ਦਿਨ ਯਾਹੂ ਡਿਸਕਸ਼ਨ ਗਰੁਪਾਂ "ਸਿੱਖ-ਨਿਊਜ਼-ਡਿਸਕਸ਼ਨ" ਅਤੇ "ਆਈ ਐਚ ਆਰ ਓ" ਵਿੱਚ ਡਾਕਟਰ ਗੁਰਦੇਵ ਸਿੰਘ ਸਿੱਧੂ ਦੀ ਛਪੀ ਇੱਕ ਚਿੱਠੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਾਸ਼ਟਰੀਆ ਸਿੱਖ ਸੰਗਤ ਦੇ ਉਪਰਲੇ ਵੈੱਬਸਾਈਟਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਂਵਾਂ ਦਾ ਪਰਦਾ ਫ਼ਾਸ਼ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਭਵਿੱਖ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਾਸ਼ਟਰੀਆ ਸਿੱਖ ਸੰਗਤ ਹੋਰ ਨਾਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਵੈੱਬ ਸਾਈਟ ਬਣਾ ਕੇ ਸਿੱਖਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਲਝਾਉਣ ਤੇ ਮੂਰਖ ਬਣਾਉਣ ਦੀ ਕੋਸ਼ਿਸ਼ ਕਰੇਗੀ। ਸਿੱਖਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਬਚ ਕੇ ਰਹਿਣ ਦੀ ਲੋੜ ਹੈ।

    ਪ੍ਰੈੱਸ ਰਲੀਜ਼ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਹ ਵੀ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ www.burningpanjab.com, ਜਿਹੜਾ ਕਿ ਸੁਖਬੀਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਓਸਾਹਨ ਨੇ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ ਤੇ ਇਸ ਦਾ ਰੋਲ ਪੰਥਕ ਸੀ, ਤੇ ਵੀ ਰਾਸ਼ਟਰੀਆ ਸਿੱਖ ਸੰਗਤ ਦੇ ਹਿਮਾਇਤੀ ਗਰੁਪ ਦਾ ਕਬਜ਼ਾ ਹੋ ਚੁਕਾ ਹੈ। ਹੋਰ ਤਾਂ ਹੋਰ www.tapoban.org, ਜਿਹੜਾ ਭਗਵੰਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਦਿਲਾਵਰੀ ਦਾ ਵੈੱਬਸਾਈਟ ਹੈ, ਵਿੱਚ ਵੀ ਕੋਈ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਬੈਠਾ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਇਸ ਧੜੇ ਦੀਆਂ ਖ਼ਬਰਾਂ ਲਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਪਿੱਛੇ ਜਿਹੇ ਇਸ ਨੇ ਕਾਲਾ ਅਫ਼ਗਾਨਾ ਤੇ ਡਾਕਟਰ ਦਿਲਗੀਰ ਦੇ ਖ਼ਿਲਾਫ਼ ਘਟੀਆ ਪਰਚਾਰ ਵਾਲੀਆਂ ਖ਼ਬਰਾਂ ਲਾਈਆਂ ਸਨ। ਕਈ ਵਾਰ ਤਾਂ ਸਿੱਖ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਮੰਚ ਦਾ ਬਲਬੀਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਸੂਚ ਵੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਵੈੱਬਸਾਈਟ www.sikhvicharmanch.com ਰਾਹੀਂ ਕਈ ਵਾਰ ਕੁੱਝ ਸਿੱਖ ਵਿਦਵਾਨਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਆਪਣੀ ਨਿਜੀ ਕਿੜ ਕਾਰਨ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਹੱਕ ਦੀ ਸਮੱਗਰੀ ਦੇਣ ਤੋਂ ਸੰਕੋਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦਾ। ਯਾਹੂ ਡਿਸਕਸ਼ਨ ਗਰੁਪਾਂ "ਆਈਐਚਆਰਓ" ਜਿਹੜਾ ਕਿ ਲੁਧਿਆਣਾ ਦੇ ਡੀ. ਐਸ. ਗਿੱਲ ਵਕੀਲ ਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਵੀ ਦਸਮ ਗ੍ਰੰਥ ਦੇ ਸਵਾਲ `ਤੇ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਪੂਰਾ ਮਿਲਵਰਤਣ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਕਈ ਵਾਰ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਪਰਚਾਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖੀ ਹੱਕਾਂ ਦਾ ਨਾ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਦਸਮ ਗ੍ਰੰਥੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਸਾਈਟ ਨਜ਼ਰ ਆਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਸਿੱਖਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਅਜਿਹੇ ਵੈੱਸਾਈਟਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਖ਼ਬਰਦਾਰ ਰਹਿਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਵੈੱਬਸਾਈਟ ਦਿਖਾਵੇ ਵਜੋਂ ਕੁੱਝ ਕੁੱਝ ਖ਼ਬਰਾਂ ਪੰਥਕ ਵੀ ਦੇ ਦੇਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਪੰਥਕ ਹੋਣ ਦਾ ਭੁਲੇਖਾ ਪਵੇ ਪਰ ਅਸਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਇੱਕ ਦੋ ਖ਼ਬਰਾਂ ਏਨੀਆਂ ਪਰਚਾਰੀਆਂ ਹੁੰਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ ਜਿਹੜੀਆਂ ਕਿ ਸਾਜ਼ਸ਼ੀ ਪਰਚਾਰ ਹੁੰਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ।

    none of the mentioned websites claim to be perfect but this is the sort of rubbish being peddled as "Sikh Missionary Parchaar". they call us "RSS" and they call Sangat "Moorakhs".

    On same website multimedia & articles are provided of Inder Ghagga, Jagtar Jachak, Gurbaksh Kala Afghana, and other such Malesh. these people idolise Prof Darshan Chand, Harjinder Dilgeer and such morons.

    Like Dictators these people do koor parchar saying Raagmala is not Bani, Bhattaan Di Bani is not Bani, Bhagat Bani is not Bani, Chaupai Sahib is not Bani, Jaap Sahib is not Bani, Akal Ustat is not Bani, indeed entire Sri Dasam Granth Sahib is not Bani then next they have their sights on Guru Granth Sahib Ji Maharaj.

    these people are not amritdhari nor believe in concept of Khalsa Panth nor believe in Guru Gobind Singh. what do you call a person who does not know who his father is?

    there are people who hope by calling people "RSS" and by using our own emotions over "Satkaar for Guru Granth Sahib" they can use this as a tool to get people to accept a mindset that we can each pick & choose what to accept as Bani like a child at a Candy Store. they hope the people who run these websites by being labelled "RSS" will move in their direction.

    Sangat Ji please be very wary as there are a lot of people who have been influenced by this ideology, and thinking.
