what u guys think of names like stevenpreet and jasondeep,,,a way for our kids to have a name that goreh can pronounce but still sounds indian? lol i think they sound kool but some people disagree... any thoughts?

  2. He 'kidnapped' her (she was willing!) from her house, drove away together on his motorbike, being chased by parents and the police until he crossed the state border and found a priest to legitimise their marriage in a mandir. Both parents soon accepted the situation and forgave both children and looked upon the other one as a new addition to the family.

    hahaha classic story! love it!

  3. jus ask the dude if hes gonna go though with it or not...thats all.

it really isnt that simple, especially when the guy doesnt answer you straight...or says he will marry you but in 4 years hasn't even aimed to meet your parents once...but claims you're the only person he an marry in his life....its a different matter

basically he says he will marry you but doesnt do anything about it - he sometimes just thinks things will magically falll into place...or his parents will finally come around and is still trying to persuade them...what should the girl do then?

serious help if this is a similar case with you you should leave the guy, coz us girls deserve a man with balls enough to stand up for us and our love if they feel that strong. if he cant do that you have got your answer.

  4. lolllllllllllllllllllllllllll sum ppl man! cnt believe them! anyways i dnt beieve its really a marriage if 2 humans arent involved, coz only humans can understand what marriage means, animals dnt understand that!!!!!!!!!! and it is cruelty to animals..

the woman that married the cobra suprised me...imagine their suhag raat lol.........

    :S

  5. sikhs are only supposed to be singh or kaur, so all the rest doesn't count if your both sikh and want to marry each other you should. some one or another always has a problem with love marriages but you either advise the ones who are concrened why you are deciding what you do, or just leave them to their own ignorance...

as for not having a relationship before marriage i think thats ridiculous, you are only human, and though lust is wrong love is something else. But after being in love myself I believe it is something that will divert and distract your attention from god.. :S

if you truly love this guy you don't need any "help"...your heart should make this choice for you. and god is love so where would you be going wrong?

  6. This is a two way thing. Some people claim to be Sikhs but when you visit their house they have picture of Hindu deities all over the place.

I think some people are confused and create some sort of hybrid Hindu-Sikh belief for themselves. Keeping your feet in two boats is crazy. All is well when they are going in the same direction but once this changes and one boat wants to take another direction - you fall in the water.

People should adopt faiths because they believe in them not for partners.

i hear what you're saying but firstly with the guy being very religious and wanting his children brought up with firm roots in sikhi, and with me being unstable as to what faith I belong to (as you said about feet in 2 boats) I thought because I love him and have sikh characteristics (the whole sikh-hindu hybrid thing) it is best to learn about sikhi from him and adopt that as i respect both religions and as you said, they both go in the same direction, so best to step into the one boat :) ...with his beliefs what he was doing with me I don't understand (a silly thing called love)...so though it may seem like it was for him it was more so for me. I know people are gona argue if I really want to be sikh I can still be etc, truth is I'm still searching for something that can't be found...

  7. what the hell has the hindi language got to do with marrying in different castes?

all i know is if ur family is set in their caste ways then out of caste marriages aren't allowed ( so much for being sikh eh?) and those who do go ahead and marry a different caste then their families dnt speak to them until x amount of years. what childishness.

its rare to find true sikhs who are not castist.

You offended are you about the hindi thing

sum chamari London Jatt? and your talking on a topic which talks about abolishing caste LMAOOOO

im not sikh...i am what i am and that is sum chumaari

i was due to marry a bhatra sikh but cast and religion got the better of us...so though i was hoping to become part of a sikh family and be reffered to as sikh and learn all about what it is to be a true sikh he couldnt marry me coz according to his family "i was not sikh"...more to the point i wasnt of the bhatra caste....being chumaari u be brought up in such a way it distorts the perception of sikhi and we get classed as hindus, sikhs, half hindus, half sikhs and hindu punjabi etc therefore i just call myself chumaari...saves a lot of hassle

also isnt it funny how when you meet other sikh people first thing they ask is what caste you are? and discuss different castes...?

  8. it was wiked, went on youtube, that suleman's done plenty of gigs at fashion shows etc, he was also in the "khalla khalla mundah" video, rmbr that man? i use to fancy him hahaha pity hes losing his hair now tho...but i just keep thinking that the act is baaaaaaaaaaaaaad was such a wiked atmosphere to watch it! but what next (as simon points out) i know they said theyl have more suprises but iv gt a feeling its gna b a letdown or not good enough for the judges coz their expectations obv gna be high...and youtube only shows this act with him n madhu in it, so duno what to expect next!

  9. these games always look fixed lol...funny how they go to extra time, penalties, then sudden death....fun to watch tho, hahahaha ronaldo i hate him hahahaha i never knew his accent was so freshified lol

bichara terry i felt bad for him :(

but united all the way lol! (they need to get rid of surma boy ronaldo tho, did i mention that i hate him...?)

  10. its always about contradictions isn't it? so much for "we are one" its true - always smart arses out there who want to be different from everyone...you all try to be different withing each other at the same time! its so true about there being "different" sikhs...it shouldnt be the case but it IS...look at all these different responses to this topic...yet ur all sikh... :S

alls i know is whether u use a thalli or not, praise for god should be pure and from within...theres no point using a thaali when theres an impure mind behind the prayer that is uttered...same way its useless if you bow down to the SGGS with corrupt thoughts...in this scenario the person doing arti with a pure mind is more connected with god than the one doing the jaap and then having an impure mind.

we all know there are enough show offs out there who do prayer all the time and regularly visit the gudwara when in truth they are two faced gossipmongors who know zilch about thier roots and religion...its just a bloody shame isnt it?

  12. I am from a 'chamaar' background and was brought up believing I was a hindu by my parents. As i got older, I went towards the path of Sikhi and realised that I had been fed the wrong info. Ravidass was a bhagat and not a Guru:

'Jahan Jahan Ja Hun, Tahan Teri Seva, Bhagat Heth, Gaveh Ravidassa'

This is from the shabad 'Sachi Preet' composed by Bhagat Ravidass and he refers to himself as a Bhagat who where ever he goes will serve Waheguru.

Bhagat Ravidass's compositions are within the Guru Granth Sahib and thats that.

Guru Nanak is the first Guru because he was chosen by Waheguru to convey the message of Sikhi. Therefore, he is the first teacher of Sikhi and so making him the first Guru. Anyone before Guru Nanak was a Bhagat. Bhagat Ravidass was born before Guru Nanak. Guru Nanak was fairly young when he met Bhagat Ravidass who at this time was in the later years.

Hope that helps. If you have any further questions, do not hesitate to ask them and I will try my best to answer them.

Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh!

erm so ravidass doesnt call himself a guru in the bani so hes not a guru.... did the other "Guru's" call themselves guru, i.e. Nanak?

also ravidass calls himself chumaar in the bani so he is?...but hold on sikhs dont believe in caste so y is he tagged so? yeh its there so it is...

so people who dnt follow the full sikh/ hindu path and follow ravidass will obviously call him their guru..as he moved them from darkness to light...

every1 just contradicts one another no matter what topic is brought...isnt that just hillarious...
