  1. here's a poem written by someone i know

    Just Once

I've forgotten You, but You still remembered me.

I've left You behind, but You still stood close to me.

I've told You lies, but You still trust me.

I've failed many times, but You still have faith in me.

I try to give it my all, I try to reach out for You.

    I want that eternal bliss.

I'm on a battle field surrounded by my weaknesses.

I know I have to win this.

My mind is deceiving and manipulative.

    I can't give in.

I'm being pulled towards my worst nightmare, which at times can seem so perfect.

I'm losing power, I’m shutting down

    I can't do this...I'm falling.

    I'm trying to fight back.

    I just can't

I've been defeatedMy tear streaked face is pale...ghost-like.

    I'm feeble.

My soul is yearning, calling out...

    It's burning with pain.

    We need YOU.

You are my saviour...You are my life. Without You…I'm dead.

    My head is throbbing painfully.

    Just once...one time...let me feel at peace…

Let me be at Your feet...

Let me overcome my ego...my greed...and any other worldly attachment I may have.

Let me say Your name and feel overcome with love for You.

Just once...Let me truly love You...

    Just once...

And let that once time be so great...that it is my last time.

Let that one time be the one to let me come back home to You

    My Waheguru....

bhenjee, i suggest wearing a chola....its better cuz like Gupat Singhnee said...its a lot easier because you'll be used to wearing a chola rather that sweats when doing shows...and about the rumal/patka/chuni....i started off with wearing a ramal...but later tied a dastaar....i find it easier to spar in a dastaar... (seeing as how i'm not totally capable of blocking any vaars coming towards my head rolleyes.gif )...hope that helped

Rakhria are supposed symbolize something like brothers protecting their sisters....but do you really need a piece of string to do that..i mean if your sister is standing there being hurt or something....do you need to look at that string on your arm and be reminded to help her out?...no....and yeah...women are independant also...and "raakhi" is more on the hindu side of things isnt it?....not sikhi at all....but these days people are celebrating other things that aren't sikhi-related...Christmas for example :T: ..thats just my opinion on this topic!

    forgive me for my mistakes...
